@@ClandestineMerkaba cant explain without going too much in details. Black metal isn't supposed to be popular, or accessible, it is mean, aggressive, it carries theme and ideas that arent seen as "good" by your average people, it is a cathartic music, the expression of someone's darkest thoughts and emotions. Uada is the polar opposite from that. It is black metal in the form, but none of the content is there. Black metal listener who are a bit elithist tend to shit on this project for that particular reason. My view tho is that everybody is free to listen to what ever the fuck they want to listen to. But that doesnt make this project any better to my eyes.
I remember seeing these guys at Maryland Deathfest a few years back. They were burning some sort of incense (or maybe spruce?) and it smelled like a pine forest in the venue. You could close your eyes and almost feel yourself among the trees, gazing across a wild landscape, as their performance complimented that feeling.
Was prolly Myrhh or Frankincense maybe both. Could also be Dragonsblood, Copal, etc maybe even a combo of all of em thier own special blend, mixing incense is fun
That solo is dope. When I heard this song the first time I was: Wait when will solo ends? :D It remember me very much at Buckethead. He does that crazy solo parts very often and even longer. If you don't know him check him out.
@@thanksgod4129 That solo is a bit boring. Not so much variation like the last one and so good melody. If I want a pure speed solo I listen to Buckethead and not Uada :D
I've been listening that ending in a loop dozens of times. Epic as fuck. Curiously, that part does not sound very black metal. It is more like some kind of epic hardcore passage (drums & rythm guitar) mixed with classic metal shredding. Awesome, anyway.
Love this band! At 24:44 UADA used exactly the same part (from an old horror movie I guess) that was also used by Theatre of Tragedy in their "Velvet Darkness They Fear" album.
I have purchased both the Red and Silver vinyl versions of this album, they just arrived in the mail today, and am here listening it to Djinn for the first time.
This album is a masterpiece! Every minute of the album is different. Different riffs, different basslines, different drumming (great blast beats here like on „Cult of the Dying Sun” which is my favourite album by Uada and great drum patterns and great drum fills and great percussion elements that I can hear here on „Djinn”) and a lot of changes in the vocals - sometimes they are more agressive and angry and sometimes they are low, dark, grim and hypnotizing. They are really good musicians that know how to play amazing black metal mixed with other metal subgenres and the lyrics are like reading a poem for me and it all creates an unique atmosphere that I want to feel, experience, worship. Nothing will beat „Cult of the Dying Sun” (or they will shock me and record even better album) but this album is really a true progressive masterpiece and it’s an honour and huge pleasure for me to listen to their discography before going to sleep in the middle of the night while I learn Norwegian and Icelandic languages and I read my favourite books such as „The Witcher”, „The Satanic Bible” and „Lord of the Rings”. I hope they will release new great album that will beat even CotDS. UADA is as majestic as Absu and I fell in love with them. They’re amongst my best black metal bands right now and I hope they will record many many great albums and I will have an opportunity to see them live in Poland one day! ❤️😈🤘🏻 To UADA members: You have a huge fanbase here in Poland and Poland has a lot of great BM bands and we have a lot of BM concerts here in Poland and there is also a cool festival called „Brutal Assault” at our neighbors place, I mean Czech Republic and there are only death metal and black metal bands there and a lot of knows bands such as Emperor, Marduk etc. and it would be cool to see you here in Poland - Mega Club Katowice or Kraków clubs are waiting for you with us at the gates (of Hell!) and on Brutal Assault in Czech Republic!!!!! Love u guys! ❤️😈🤘🏻
@@CoreDian No, just that they are masterpieces, UADA are most certainly not. Start appreciating the humanities a bit more and less of rehashed metal. Your life is short. Damn, I really enjoy this new album a lot! I have been a huge Ceremonial Castings fan going back to 2003 or so. It is so interesting to hear Jake's vocals in several different bands with varying styles. Everything he touches is amazing.

Really enjoying the new direction Uada takes on this album. At times it reminds me of Schammasch, and the riffs are catchy AF. Very good album! Easily in the best of the year.
The opening tracks so damn catchy. It's hard not to be caught in it's jammin vibes. And great vocal work and agony shouts (just what I call them) in the mix. Easily one of my favs this year. Thanks and hails 🤘
Not gonna lie, didn't think I was gonna like it when it came out, but it's grown on me now. I am sure they will evolve more with each release, big fan of vocals as always! Very soon, they will have their own distinct styles and sound!
and then came the 57:00 minute. A man with his guitar! add the 4th track from the last album(see Funkadelic - Maggot Brain), that Uada guitar is one of my favorite. I can say the same about Arafel - Requiem guitarist, one of a kind.
All three albums of UADA are masterpieces, with Cobalt from Colorado best USBM band, they are original, i don't know why some are claiming they are copying Mgla when they have nothing in common with them ( except that both are excellent BM bands)
@Richard James I found many other usbm bands from then, the best is definitely Leviathan, then others like Inquisition, Cobalt, Judas Iscariot,Weakling....GBK is good too
not quite, check out panzerfaust, ulcerate and nero di marte then come back here. it's a cool album but there are many that did much better like gaerea and havukruunu.
ohhhhh somebody see the spiritual side of black metal ..... is about the transcendental side of music ....which connects you to a hidden dimension of existence
This more than their other work reminds me of the explosion of Melodic Death back in that 1999-2005 period. I had thought that all the good riffs were taken, but I was wrong.
Они явно вышли на новый уровень! Блэк металл мэйнстрим? Музыка очень доступная по сравнению с двумя предыдущими альбомами! Некоторые называют это попсой но мне нравится!
All songs are bangers. Damn. Also pretty positive as far as BM albums go, at least in terms of melody. I find myself craving the intro from Djinn and returning again and again for a listen then sticking to the end. Definately a fan.
