Music is such a time machine. It is not the song, rather the memories it touches. Kenny Chesney "I go back" explains that well. Anyway, with this song, I go back. I go back to the 90s. I remember falling in love with my first girlfriend, I remember learning how to drive. I remember my first kiss. I can't listen to this song with out tearing up. The lyrics of "standing on your momma's porch you told me that you would wait forever and when you held my hand" Take me back to my former girlfriend's mothers porch and I remember when she held my hand looked in my eyes and told me she loved me. My gosh what memories music strikes up.
MarleyMW because it's too easy for people with no sense of pitch or rhythm to hook up with a producer with a fancy computer and minimal songwriting abilities. They then produce plastic music for plastic people. It's sad to see the decline of popular music, but in my opinion, all of the good music has already been made.
The thing is old songs like this are energetic but listening to them still gives you a calm feeling. But modern music is Soo energetic yet it somehow drains you and also there is no calm feeling. Anyone feeling me ?
Guys, when I was like 16 years old, my friends and I played this at a "school band contest". Despite it was only a school band, we went heavy on this one and suddendly everyone turned crazy, because the song is such fire. We later got asked for autographs. I was like wtf, it´s just a cover and we are only a school band. What I wanna say is, this song is not a normal song. This song has something in it, that makes everyone happy. And that´s what we all love about music :)
First heard this song in 1987... sitting on my motorcycle, on a hill over-looking an amazing beach in Thailand... I could not believe what I was hearing... THIS WAS MY SONG! Bryan adams was 10 in the summer of 69. the song was written in 1984. The 69 is not about the year but mainly cause it sounds great and is a totally different reference.
I played this song a couple years ago when I was 11 with a couple friends of mine at our local annual "rock school" concert. Our music teacher who put the show on was diagnosed with ALS about 6 months ago and he died last week. His funeral was today and I just thought about him and this song. Those were the best days of my life...
+C Mac why are you being a little shit, the kid wants to say it was the best day it was the best day, dont be a fuckass and basically tell him its not.
You go, kid. Think about those good days and You'll love music forever, without a doubt. I am also very sorry for the school's loss, and my heart goes out to the family and your music class.
The official highest recorded temperature is now 56.7°C (134°F), which was measured on 10 July 1913 at Greenland Ranch, Death Valley, California, USA THIS IS FROM GOOGLE. IF U SAY IN FAREINHITE THEN ITS POSSIBLE
Ohhh...sorry for misinterpretation.. i was in doubt whether you actually know when song released because in today's music, you cannot tell when the song was released by watching the video(as in some modern songs too, they make in classic ways), and this music itself have some modern feel..
This song is so ironic... It's about missing great times & it makes me miss great times. I used to jam out to it but now I can't listen to it without crying now.
This song reminds me of my grandmother who graduated in ’69 and passed away in January of this year at the age of 70. I miss you, Momo! I hope you’re enjoying your eternity so far in heaven!
Can't even remember when I first heard this masterpiece... But one thing is for sure and certain it will remain an anthem for a very long time... Such an epic number 🤘
why this song will continue to be a classic for eternity is for the reason that the summer of 69' represents a moment in time where each individual had the best experiences of their lives regardless of what year it was. The song represents a place in time where you knew it would never be better. "The future" for example, in 2069 they will continue playing this song because of the emotion behind it, and what it means to be alive and living for the moment and the happiness that it brings. This song reminds you that life is beautiful
***** I know what you mean I'm 17 and i hate all new music and so do all my friends its just plain pathetic we used to have groups like the who and led zeppelin but now we have garbage!
***** Altho, im a DJ, i still think that this (60-90's music) is/will stay as the foundation of modern age music, won't even go beyond that, meaning the Renaissance etc. But just getting my opinion out here and i hope that this way of thinking will make something unique and staying for the future. Cheers and happy listening ;).
WwWWWwwwWwWwWwwwwww - I don't know ... I would prefer to think about it as 1969 than something as crass as the 69 act. It degrades both Bryan Adams and the listeners to learn that the song does not refer to 1969 like most people have assumed it did.
The 80's had as many if not more world issues to be depressed about. The difference was our generation rose above that with something simple.. a positive outlook. If you choose to focus on the bad things that's all you'll ever see.
JohnnyRetweeter I understand what you mean, thanks for your comment, I didn’t mean to offend anyone I was just saying it would be cool to live in that time, i wasn’t referring to the negative side.
I feel you! I was born in 69, & remember when this song came out in the 80s on MTV, I remember watching the video, but I didn’t really “get” the song until years later when I’m listening to music on SiriusXM (the 80s channel), actually listening to the lyrics. It definitely hits that nostalgic spot.
I discovered this Song in the 2000's and was blown away!!! It is FANTASTIC!! Great Beat, Voice, Music....everything!!! Those 80's years produced some great Songs but this is to me The Best!!!
I believe that somewhere in the world, there are people who feel the same emotions that I feel when I listen to masterpieces like this song.

+C Mac your never to young to have the best day of your life
+C Mac why are you being a little shit, the kid wants to say it was the best day it was the best day, dont be a fuckass and basically tell him its not.
I have played this song with my friends on the schoolband
You go, kid. Think about those good days and You'll love music forever, without a doubt. I am also very sorry for the school's loss, and my heart goes out to the family and your music class.
Decided to listen to this wonderful masterpiece am on a race to kisten listen more

Can't believe that it's 35 years old by now..... But still had the same magic....
hope you know when the song was actually released..not 10 years
Ohhh...sorry for misinterpretation.. i was in doubt whether you actually know when song released because in today's music, you cannot tell when the song was released by watching the video(as in some modern songs too, they make in classic ways), and this music itself have some modern feel..
me :)
rahul sharma hii
Dude it was uploaded on UA-cam 10 years ago doesn't mean that it was released that year....

people from 1980s: Ah, the good ol' 60s
people from 1960s: Ah, the good ol' 4.... *oof*
@@PauloRicardo-md4ji haha
People from 1940: Ah, the good ol' 1... yikes
That won't happen in 2020's, people who appreciate good music still be saying "good ol' 80's" kkkkkkkkk
@@PauloRicardo-md4ji ahahhahahaha
I love everything about Bryan Adams.
Thanks FOR your SONG
GOD bless everyone
Barakallah fiikum 😂😂❤❤❤

Don't worry guys, 69 is coming in another 49 years
Nice!
I’ll be 74😢 by then I probably won’t be able to remember to play this
It's a song about 1969
@@commssabotaged1635 I'll live
nah my brother, it's happening tonight :)
God music from the 60s,70s and 80s sure was great!
It sure was more about the meaning of it, and im 19.
***** I know what you mean I'm 17 and i hate all new music and so do all my friends its just plain pathetic we used to have groups like the who and led zeppelin but now we have garbage!
All the good music died off in the mid 90s when pop and rap took over . back in the 70s for example you could throw a rock and hit a legendary band.
***** You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. Tip of my fedora to you!
***** Altho, im a DJ, i still think that this (60-90's music) is/will stay as the foundation of modern age music, won't even go beyond that, meaning the Renaissance etc. But just getting my opinion out here and i hope that this way of thinking will make something unique and staying for the future. Cheers and happy listening ;).
im 27 and this is one of my favorite songs, i would have loved to live in that time
I wish I lived in 70's-90s as a teen 😫😭
Supreme Lasagna lol no
Supreme Lasagna ha no you dont
omfgg me tooo!!
Honesty I could say the same thing though😂😂 I love the 80's-90's😂👌
I'm a young lad. But I know every single worn, note and riff of this song. God bless my mother for showing me the greats.
GOD HER HER AND HER VAGGGGGG
You should be lucky that you didn't get programmed into enjoying repetitive rap and country music of the 2010s.
my moms the same she got me into songs like these
ALEX DEGRENIA I'm just a teenager who loves this song a lot
Unkown viewer I hate mainstream music
Bryan Adams we love you forever!

I love this song I’m and I love the 80s
I'm 19 years old and even I LOVE this song !!
Congratulations!
Literally this song puts a huge smile on my face, Summer of 69'
It was the summer of 89
I'm scared, I mean, there's no sex jokes in the comments section. Seriously, NONE joking about 69. I'm so proud of everyone. :)
bryan adams confirmed that the song was about sex. he was like 3 years old in the summer of 1969
WwWWWwwwWwWwWwwwwww *9 years old
WwWWWwwwWwWwWwwwwww - I don't know ... I would prefer to think about it as 1969 than something as crass as the 69 act. It degrades both Bryan Adams and the listeners to learn that the song does not refer to 1969 like most people have assumed it did.
oh shhiit ! there we go ! I thought was the only one thought like that !
69 DAMN!!!!
My dad favourite song
I miss you dad😭❤️
I'll be rocking this song in 2069 as long as I'm still living
I'll be 81 but I too plan on it.
I'll be 87 y/o...I also hope to be rockin' to this as well
Me too. ;-;

This song makes me miss a super epic Summer i never had.
Willem Dafoe , I can feel the nostalgia even when I was born in the next century
Willem Dafoe 😢
Willem Dafoe damn your boring as fawk. You must had. A shitty ass childhood poor guy
I just got hit with that after just focusing on the lyrics more
Absolutely a huge classic ❤
I will be 72, but I'll still be listening to this in the summer of 2069
74, hope I make it
Oh crap I'll be 89 :-(
76, maybe...
Haha, class of 59 you old fart! And the Purple People Eaters didn't get you.
Where the hell does time go?
kimmer6 I'd be 102. I'm planning on living to be about 120-125 range.
This is my dads favorite song. I admire him so much. He’s 1973 baby 🎸
My dad is 1977!!🎸🎸🎵🎶🎵
Life just seemed so innocent and happy back then, why was I born in a generation where everyone is depressed
Society was always depressed bro. In this generation, people are opening up
Yeah I would have wanted to live in the 80s and die from AIDS
The 80's had as many if not more world issues to be depressed about. The difference was our generation rose above that with something simple.. a positive outlook. If you choose to focus on the bad things that's all you'll ever see.
Also the veitnam war and cold war and all that. We have it better right now then they had, but its hard to see with all the social media and such
JohnnyRetweeter I understand what you mean, thanks for your comment, I didn’t mean to offend anyone I was just saying it would be cool to live in that time, i wasn’t referring to the negative side.
A timeless masterpiece.
Born in the 90s and love this song gives me such good vibes
Those 80's years produced some great Songs but this is to me The Best!!!
back when music was still, you know... music.
***** Justin Bieber ;)
It was also a joke :)
You said it! Thank God for archives to listen to the REAL tunes!
