Man what an incredible course. I've done some long rando events in the past...a bunch of 9 hour 200 km brevets and one 300km, which took me like 14.5 hours. I'm not sure I could sustain any pace, let alone the one you demonstrated, for 8 friggin hours! Hats off man.
Mad respect for the riders who run fixed gear bikes!! Wow!!
Just found out about this race. It's amazing to see this place again, I used to go to scout camp there 25 years ago!
Nice! I get that sense that this is a special spot for a lot of different people.. not just cyclists.
@@ridrup2077 I did a lot of fishing in the little coves you passed just after the start :D
I racer to a lot 😀 as amateur in Norway, I enjoy to watch your video, nice course 💪💪👍
Incredible!
Wow,, amazing.. beautiful track my friend 👍🚴
Big up from moroco❤🇲🇦
great race ,nice video there so many participan..
That guy with a single speed tho...mad respect hope he finished without suffering from cramps
Sounds like an absolutely brutal affair. Chapeau my friend
Thanks Frazzy. It certainly helps doing it with a teammate. The 8 hour solo category is another beast entirely!
Sorry to make you guys dismount on the steep pitch. SS has its downsides. And agreed-team is a blast
Funny you were able to track down this video and find yourself causing mischief! all good about the dismount... it's racing and that's how things go sometimes. I'm not gonna feel sorry for you because of running SS though -- you guys are masochists!
Great spirit
Amazingly my friend 👍

This course looks super fun and though!
It's one of my favs. It's unique because it is on private property (a boy scout camp) so rules for trail building are a bit more open.
Nice race guys.support done
I enjoy watching your video I hope to have a mountain bike to try trail❤
Great video! That was a strong pace you had going on lap one. You had to be around top ten
ish. Whoever put on the event did a great job. They had plenty of passing room to allow everybody to get sorted and not get stuck behind much slower riders.I like your strategy to get up front early. It pays dividends for the next few hours. Do they have any problems with bears in that area? I have had problems with them in Mammoth. Thanks for posting the great video.
nice succes frend
Amazing euy🚴🚴🚴
👏👏👏
That guy on the single speed kick your tail😂
Yuuup! That guy in yellow was pretty strong and Wente is an excellent course for running single speed.
Watch out and move, how about just call track and on your left if you want to pass
Hey Ken. In hind sight, I shouldn't have said it that way. Yelling "watch out" and "move" doesn't yield the best results or convey much direction. At the time though, the guy I was yelling at was going so slow and aimlessly (imo) that I didn't think he was currently doing a lap. I thought he was just riding around the pit area during his off lap. Honestly though, those type of people should know better and deserve to be yelled to GTFO. But as it turns out, the guy was actually ahead of me the whole time and he let off the gas a bit because he was doing the 8 hour solo (afaik).
We got two of these for our daughters ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L the same size for age 6 and 9. It works very well for both girls. Gears were very easy for them to learn. Changing gears up takes some hand strength and is a bit hard, but they are learning. They did not come with water bottle holders- we actually got confused and thought the Derailler Guard was the bottle holder!! Regardless of these details, the bikes are fantastic- even our six year old who only just learned to ride bikes caught on within an hour of practice and loves it. Lightweight and easy for them to handle. All the parts are in excellent condition and the bikes are easy to assemble and very well packaged. Great choice for kids!
That pace is way to high for a 8h.
Did you finish?
First lap = hot lap. It tends to pay dividends to avoid the masses and get out front early on. Keep in mind too most of the folks were doing this event as a relay race with two or three people. So it's more like 2-4 hours instead of 8.
Is that amount of rattle normal for internal cable routing?
I guess it depends on the frame and how things are setup. This bike is a Santa Cruz Highball (v3) which has the internal sleeves for the rear brake and rear derailleur housing. I went to the garage just now and dropped the front end and yes, I could hear the housing rattling within the frame. I tugged the cables so they were more taught within the frame and the sound reduced quite a bit. While I tend to be pretty OCD, apparently I tune out the rattling. I'll be more mindful before recording next time.
the route is just awesoomeee. .those guys with single speed, huge respect.
