How those 2 menpachi lived so long (and got so big) is still a mystery to me. Maybe they had a suicide pact -- why else would they swim in front of your cannon like that? Like the white tip playing peek-a-boo at 3:33. I saw it in those holes. Just waiting for us to ring the dinner bell. Great video. Great shots!
LOL, yes they are and yes i promise this is Oahu. Have to guard your numbers with your life or they will get fished out... We have a few "secret" spots with good fish still. Glad you liked the video. Dive safe!
Thanks glad you liked it! yeah, i am still confused by those Menpachi, normally i would not shoot them with this gun but they came so far out of the reef i was in no risk of getting my shaft stuck. The hole at 3:33 was a good one, i was laughing at myself while watching the video, all the good stuff in there and i shoot the To'au... its all good though!
Sorry Brah, wont give out my spots... but thanks, we have a few spots that still have monsta fish so we keep em safe. i don't usually take minpachi with a gun (normally 3 prong) but these were kinda dumb so i took them. on all the drops i was going for larger fish but these guys decided to come out of their holes. hope you enjoyed the vid, dive safe!
+Anonymous Turtle Aloha. Well that is a very dependent situation. the amount of weight is different for each person, i am a big dude so i need a lot... 16 lbs. The best thing to do is to dive down to 30ft and see if you are neutrally buoyant. add weight or subtract it based on that.
Aloha Irw, that guy is an A'awa aka tableboss aka hogfish. one of my favorites! make great burgers. i would not shoot them if under 5lbs. too small otherwise. thanks for watching
