General Eva Burrows Awarded Order of the Founder

The recognition of one remarkable woman led to the honouring of another, with the admittance to the Order of the Founder of former General Eva Burrows, who was promoted to Glory earlier this year.
A video from General Eva’s thanksgiving service showed her at her passionate best, declaring:
‘I never wanted to live my way, I always wanted to live [God’s] way.’Presenting the award to Australia Southern Territorial Commander Commissioner Floyd Tidd, on behalf of General Eva’s family, the General said that the life and service of Eva Burrows ‘would have recommended itself to our Founder. She inspired countless people around the world.’

I remember when my parents were officers in a little town in Rhodesia many years ago - and Captain Eva Burrows - as she was then - came to the little Baptist church and ministered there. There was no Salvation army in Gwelo - so that is where we worshipped. I remember her singing....Saviour, my all I'm bringing to thee;
Speak, Lord, and I thy voice will obey;
Seal me just now thy servant to be,
For more of thy power, dear Lord, I pray.

Lord, with my all I part,
Closer to thee I'll cling,
All earthly things that bind my heart,

Every time I think of General Eva Burrows - I think of that song and her total dedication of her life to the Jesus she served.
