In the Uk can I just confirm as to whether it has to be in a continuous loop? And does it make a difference as to how long the pipes are based on the porosity of the soil? Great to have your feedback as Im at a stage of needing to install one.
From what I have read soakaways are designed only for rain/surface water? Should the correct installation not be a drainage field run in a continuous loop?
Yes David, you are correct. As stated below..... it DOES matter! For the drainage field to conform to the correct BS EN standards, it’s has to be a continuous loop. A lot has changed with the regulations and this info given here is not accurate.
@@stuartgarrett3360 Stuart, you seem to know what you're talking about: do the pipes have to be laid level? My garden has a gradual slope away from the tank and I'm not sure if I have to dig down to lay the loop system level. Ta.

Why don't you just use drainage field crates?

Im fairly certain building regs state it has to be a continuous loop.
