This isn't Kevin's fault if anything the Family needs to learn to be ON TIME and manage their time better. Not to mention making sure their alarm is set and PLUGGED IN!
The alarm clock/radio was accidentally reset by Peter McCallister when he unplugged it to remove the camcorder battery charger. The same “oversleep due to clock reset” element was in the first film, except that strong winds caused a power outage.
This time it’s on Peter McCallister the father. He didn’t check the alarm clock when he unplugged it. He should have kept Kevin either in front of him or held on to him and as far as that room service bill goes don’t let your son carry ur bag next time.

So today, there's no way they'd make it in time.
Yeah, well they arrived at the airport at the time the plane was ready to leave. Luckily flights never leave on schedule. I mean in the first movie they left the house when there was only 45 minutes before the plane leaves and O'hare airport is like an hour drive from Winnetka (The Chicago Suburb that the house is in).
I know and if I confused someone else for my mom or dad I probably wouldn’t be able to catch up to that other person so I would end up going the right way with my parents which is good
How home alone 2 should of ended 1: Kevin should’ve put batteries in his re play corder in the van. 2: Everyone gets up at 8:00 am 3:Kevin spends 50 dollars for a hotel room 4: Harry and marv gets caught with security cams
They boarding staff didn't even checked the identity and/or ID of the family members! How can they be sure who is who regarding the tickets or boarding passes they have received in hands? But yeah, it's just a movie!
Tomasz Wielinski I know of someone who flew her family across the country to spend Christmas with her parents and brother’s family, but her husband wound up having to cut short his vacation to head back to work. So that person offered the extra ticket on the original flight back, to her grandpa so he could go west to visit his siblings, and there was no problem with the flight or anything. Couldn’t do that today!
"make sure he locates his family" YEAH, VERY GOOD ADVICE, HE THINKS HE SAW HIM, BUT ONLY FROM THE BACK, NOT FROM THE FRONT, NEXT TIME MAKE SURE HE SEES HIS FACE
Why was none of his family holding his hand? When I was a kid if I was in the airport my family always held me and my brothers hands they only stopped after we all turned 12.
So the kid was smart enough to outsmart some crooks in part 1 and part 2 but somehow wasn’t smart enough to read what gate number his boarding pass was going to leave out of lol
That's Kevin's fault he should have waited until he got on the plane just like his dad said this is the kind of stuff that happens when kids don't listen to their parents
Many people at fault here: 1. Kevin who apparently HAD to put batteries on the Talkboy. 2. The parents who didn't make sure everyone was accounted for at their gate (this was either counting everyone as they boarded or Peter running behind everyone to ensure all 14 were heading to the right gate or even accounting for everyone during the flight or after landing). 3. The AA gate agents for the NY flight who didn't make sure Kevin had the right flight or confirmed his dad was on that actual flight. 4. I'd even go as far as to place some responsibility on the NY gate agents (the actual ones in NY) who didn't question Kevin if he was alone (what business does an 8-10yr old have being alone at the airport?).
I think the reason why in HOME ALONE 2:LOST IN NEW YORK, Kevin McCallister couldn’t wait until he got on the airplane to Miami, Florida to change his batteries 🔋 in his Talkboy tape recorder portable audiocassette player talkie walkie device toy was because Kevin was suffering time management struggles meaning he really can’t prioritize and decide what tasks, parties 🎉 and festivals, chores, playtime stuff, school/homework, and other time events are important and unimportant due to the fact that he has prioritizing and decision-making conflict crisis in his life.
This is what should have happened the macalisters wake up early and they didn't have to rush packing and get to the airport and that will Kevin's family enough time to wait for him to put the batteries in and catch up to the family and he would have went on a nice and quiet and peaceful vacation with his family members without running into the wet bandits but no they woke up late for the flight and they had to run to get packed till they got to the plane and Kevin got left behind and ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh and got reunited with the wet bandits
In my life time, I've seen 4 major events that drastically changed the world. 9/11, 2008 Financial Crisis, the launch of the iPhone, 2020 Covid-19. You can literally see in this scene how the world changed after 9/11. You can never do this today.
Oh hell no bro. I don't even remember if family members had to go through security procedures just to visit family members that were landing. But I don't think they had to. You could just say, yah I am visiting family, and they would let you through to the corresponding gate that family members were landing at. I could be wrong about that though. Although 9/11 has never really been repeated since then, although it was a depressing time period for sure. We were just all more carefree back then. But it sort of happened a second time, but with drinks. Hence the reason why you cannot bring drinks with you anymore for the most part. Unless they are really, really small. I forget what the limit is, but I just choose to never bring drinks with me. I can get some on the plane. It is crazy how many security checks just did not exist in this one scene. Like it blows my mind. But because of some terrorist assholes. Now we have to step everything up. I remember being in 5th grade actually when 9/11 happened. Everything for the day was canceled. I was in the middle of class. The theory I was reading, is that bio terrorism could be the next terrorist attack, and I don't think we would be prepared for it either. I honestly wasn't a fan of how covid 19 was handled. It got way to political and took way to long to do anything about it. At least in america. Other countries cleaned it up alot quicker than we did. I just wouldn't trust american government to handle another major world changing catastrophe.
So this was airport security back in the 90s, huh? I’m glad we have tighter security but it’s just so annoying having to get scanned and checked on every 2 minutes or something,
The plan 1. They woke up early. 2. Kevin should have putted his baterys in when they were in the airport van. 3. Kevin's dad should have looked behind him to see if Kevin was keeping up with him
Can't believe they ditched Kevin. And when they boarded wouldn't they make sure that Kevin was the first one on the plane because of what happened in the last Film?
Exactly. Each subsequent film became more and more absurd and implausible. Can't stand this series. And I didn't like the first one either. It was all so dumb.
That's one of the big problems with this plot. After Kevin's mom was so desperate in the 1st one, there's almost no way she wouldn't be more careful this time. Did she forget how terrifying it was after a year?

0:50 Okay, if some of you seen this scene, I'm pretty sure those are gate letters. Gate H leading to Miami Florida and Gate K leading to New York. Kevin shouldn't stop in the middle of the path before the intersection.
No, those are concourses. I worked at O’Hare over the summer and know that entire terminal like the back of my hand. Gates at O’Hare are designated by their concourse letter and a number. So the departure flight to Miami is at gate H17 while the flight to New York is at gate K17.

I mean in the first movie they left the house when there was only 45 minutes before the plane leaves and O'hare airport is like an hour drive from Winnetka (The Chicago Suburb that the house is in).
0:39 that's your dad, Kevin
0:41 that's not your dad, Kevin
that Kevin was Stupid, he could have put the Recorder's Batteries inside the Plane, not right in the middle of the Airport.
@@jeremyelcuervo6091 I agree
He runs after the wrong man who he thinks is his dad in the terminal. He should watch the airport monitors to know which gate he must go to.
Or just looked at his friggin ticket
It had to do with the coat
everyone in this thread is so perceptive
He wears the same jacket
What? And ruin the plot?
By the way, I also left my son at the train station. It was so unpleasant case that I never forget. Fortunately I found him.
Is it me or does Kate’s hairstyle resemble a Karen?
That’s because many Karen’s keep the same or similar hairstyles that were popular in the 80s and 90s.
@@hadihatab3126 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
There is no way Kevin even caught up with the other person that quick as he ran away far behind Kevin, unless Kevin has really fast legs.
I know and if I confused someone else for my mom or dad I probably wouldn’t be able to catch up to that other person so I would end up going the right way with my parents which is good
NO tickets machines WOW
Kevin shouts "DAD, WAIT UP!"
...to the man who has the same hair and same coat as Peter McCallister.😁
How home alone 2 should of ended
1: Kevin should’ve put batteries in his re play corder in the van.
2: Everyone gets up at 8:00 am
3:Kevin spends 50 dollars for a hotel room
4: Harry and marv gets caught with security cams
5. kevin says he's going to florida so the lady escorts him to the right plane.
This took place in 1992. You didn’t need to show ID for boarding passes back then
This was the Early 90s. Airport Security was VERY lax back then. I fondly remember.
It's crazy how O'Hare airport looks almost the exact same today as in this movie.
Yes it does! Except the service center is now a McDonald’s 😂
Why did Kevin not wait until he got on the plane and put the batteries later when he got on?
I have no idea.
@@hectorlopez1069 It was the early 90s.
"make sure he locates his family" YEAH, VERY GOOD ADVICE, HE THINKS HE SAW HIM, BUT ONLY FROM THE BACK, NOT FROM THE FRONT, NEXT TIME MAKE SURE HE SEES HIS FACE
that movie is so iconic. my alltime favourite christmas movie
100% true. I have added the funny Five Star Christtmas movie (Netflix) as the 3rd movie to watch during Holiday season.
Why was none of his family holding his hand? When I was a kid if I was in the airport my family always held me and my brothers hands they only stopped after we all turned 12.
Most people are forgetting the fact that Kevin was just 10 years old. Its the responsibility of the adult to take care of his or her kids.
Definitely. They should have checked for everyone at the gate instead of running onto the plane.
@@pcvideoman3373 the airlines employee said he'd check for everyone and theyd miss their flight
I think so too.
It’s not Kevin fault it’s the dads he should of waited for Kevin .
I think it's both of their faults, but I would put most of the blame on the parents, yes.
I think he should of hold Kevin's hand.
Yeah, really, I mean putting batteries in his talk boy could wait as they were in a hurry to get on the plane.
Jay Aki Dude it's just a movie.
That doesn't mean kids don't do it in real life because they do because they always want things now instead of later.
but then we wouldnt have had a nother adventure with kevin mcallister
Many people at fault here:
If they made a Home Alone 3 with Macaulay Culkin , his mom wouldbhave made sure he was on the plane, even if it meant holding his hand.
That dude in the end is just so beautiful......is he pilot or something?
Maybe he is a senior flight attendant.
He's a gate attendant
Airlines kind of select hot men and women as employees
Hes fat with a double chin now bet you wouldnt want to se him now lol
Bowens92 We all get old. This movie is nearly 30 years old. What’s your point?
1:15 Kate should have waited until she is the last one on
I bet the dad that Kevin was chasing to New York look like his real dad twin brother
At least never boarding the wrong flight
Never
Oh hell no bro.
I love how the lady Kevin bumped into wears an uniform similar to Arsenal's iconic red and white shirt.
Really Kevin, it couldn't wait?
The ticket taker who says “we’ll get everybody on the plan” He looks like a Kennedy.
He's cute.
@@kornmaze if he were fat with a double chin would you say that?
Lol
@@bowens9211 Well no probably they wouldn't... That was a dumb question
I love home alone lost in New York
Kevin got what he wanted by stopping to put batteries in his recorder and he prevented the wet bandits from getting away
He must have gotten confused with the man in the light brown coat. His dad is wearing the same colour too.
So this was airport security back in the 90s, huh? I’m glad we have tighter security but it’s just so annoying having to get scanned and checked on every 2 minutes or something,
one of the best uses of tchaikovsky in film ever!
lol that john williams knows how to emulate the classics
@@djmotise Fuck you
This was the part it was on when I first saw home alone 2 when I was a kid I probably have seen it over a thousand times now at least ha

A kid alone on a wrong plane… with more security protocols post 9/11, this would never happen.
Wait… Spirit Airlines 2023…
If Kevin loaded up his battery on the airplane, then none of these would happened🤣
Yeah then the series would have not been called home alone
Imagine them taking a trip a third time. Where’s Kevin??😂

Why couldn't Kevin just wait to put batteries on the plane? His mistake got him separated from his family and board the wrong plane!
@@Harmonmj13, oh. Okay. Thanks for the answer! I would have known the parts of the airport well.

😂 it’s so easy to get lost at O’Hare Airport because it’s so big and overcrowded
