Aww such a bummer! I actually don’t embroider anything I don’t supply for that reason. I also have my customers approve a final colour mockup. Because I had the same thing happen. Ugh. Lesson learned lol!
You’re amazing!!
Hugs,
Lin
As a new follower, I can only say, you are on target to be very successful. Keep that mind set and always be up front with your clients. Humans make mistakes. Own it, and 90% of the time your customers will be more then happy to work it out. I look forward to catching up on your feed and watching your journey.
That feeling of your heart sinking when you hear there’s an issue with a job, is the sign of a good shop owner. You owned it and made it into a positive. You may have refunded the work but they’re going to share how well you handled the issue and the referrals will pour in. Thanks for sharing, glad I found your channel! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing this experience, you’ll only get better.
It happens to all of us! So so easy to forget about those phone calls. Keep up the good work!
Even though it's a mistake it shows 2 great lessons.. 1 your human and 2 you did everything to make it right with the customer.. guess what? The customer will come back for more business because of the way you handled it.
Yes happens to us all - i try to get an email for the final order, but when they take so long to decide you are rushing to finish it for them,
Thank you for sharing this! I only make for my friends & family, but I am just sp hard on myself when I screw something up.😒
I just sent my 10 year work anniversary jacket back for the 4th time today. Names are tricky i guess. Lol Tough business.
Oh man! I'm sorry you've had to send it back so many times. Once is more than enough!
Such a sinking feeling I know! But above all she will remember how you treated her and made it right. In a case like that do you refund only for the embroidery service or both the service and the item supplied? Also another question I always wonder about-if we send out an item in plenty of time for it to arrive but the postal service doesn't live up to their 2-3 day delivery, would you refund for the items?
One of those things when there's too much going on and too much back and forth. I've messed up but my product is not that big and I can just send a replacement.
Exactly! Too much communication isn't always a good thing lol
It happens to all of us, darling.
Btw, how much do you charge for a stitch out like that?
Depends on the job, quantity, and how big but I charged her $35 for the back and $15 for the front left chest logo. So $50 total. (Plus the setup/digitizing fee)
@@KaylaKrische Thank you so much. I need to make a Jean jacket for a customer but it will a big stitch on the back, name on the front, and stars all over including sleeves. 🫣
It will be a pretty penny just on the stars. Although I need to figure out how exactly to do the stars on the sleeves. 😬
@@Theneedleartnook In all honesty, I probably should be charging more, but this is a special customer. If I were to get this order from someone else, I'd probably do $20 for the front left chest and $40-$50 for the back embroidery.
@@KaylaKrische Same is happening to me, because she has more work for me so I don’t want to be too rough on her pricing for this item. I rather keep the orders coming from her.
