Its a relief that Mafex is making these smaller sized Bane and Venom in contrast to the big hulking monster sized figures almost all other companies are making.
Agreed! For me, I only buy Mafex/Mezco for DC. McFarlane imo is way too big/garbage plastic and fills your space up very quickly…….sold it off and love my simplified collection.
If you want this guy, buy him. That'll show Medicom that we are willing to buy larger figures despite the extra cost. Maybe, just maybe, one day we'll get a MAFEX Juggernaut or Doomsday.
I want a Mafex Mutant Leader. Both the Mezco and Mattel DC ones are ok. He has such a simple design, but I would like to see what Mafex would do with him, especially since Matex has already made versions of the TDKR characters.
An unmasked head and/or a ripped mask faceplate would really do a lot in terms of value here. Aside from that, Bane doesn't really need a whole bunch of accessories. Regardless, I'm still stoked to get this figure!
Finally we get a comic book height Bane instead of the Hulk size ones everyone else has made. I think your review is on point: some proportions are a bit wonky but overall it's a great figure and it looks fun to pose.
Excellent review Anthony. Not a DCU guy so I only know the most elementary part of Bane. But Mafex did a pretty good job with this figure. Fearing that the larger buck might be a stretch for Mafex - they didn't disappoint. Mafex managed to include articulation along with the bulk, which is something other companies don't do. Thanks for your efforts they are appreciated.
Just got this big boy today. I was shocked Mafex made him so big. After how tiny Thor was I was worried. I'm pretty happy with him. Looks great in a few poses I have done. I am far more a Marvel guy but I am happy with this purchase.
I chalk up Bane’s bigger head to the juice/venom. If HGH makes your head grow, I’m sure Bane’s would as well 😂 He looks great with the other Mafex DC villains….and I hope they make a black variant Knightfall Bats bc the black variant Hush looks so great with him.
He's such and awesome figure and one of Mafex best and easily the BEST Bane in the scale IMO. I'm glad to hear that your are liking him as well. Maybe Mafex can give us a Hulk or maybe a Darkseid soon.
The head and feet are slightly oversized, but I can live with them. The size, look, and articulation are amazing. In my opinion, the best Bane action figure I have ever seen. Goes perfect with the Knightfall Batman. Darwin: it was me Batman! It was me all along!
I think import figure price rating should be over the original prices where they are produced and first sold. Avarage MAFEX figure in Japan costs around 60-80 dollars.
@@AnthonysCustoms it's not due to conversion. The yen is weaker now, true. But the figures were cheaper a few years ago when that was not the case. 6000-7000 yen, opposed to 8500 to 9000 and 10000 now. A regular Mafex figure is $50 to $60. Far from even the $80 the guy above says. BBTS pricing is us paying for their figures at retail japanese pricing, plus customs (above $2000 orders get taxed at customs), plus shipping heavy and large orders plus their employee/handling cost plus the profit. Nobody in the entire world should use BBTS for non american products. You're paying double the price because you're paying for all the logistics chain cost BBTS has from Japan until their store. The yellow Wolverine got restocked this week on all japanese retailers, and it was 45 euros or $49 on AmiAmi. With another $15 for shipping. It ends up at around $125 at BBTS after tax and shipping. BBTS should really be the very last place anyone buys figures, as the absolute last resport, the most expensive one, if you can't secure an order on Plaza Japan, AmiAmi, Hobby Genky, NinNin, Hobby Search and so on. There are dozens of japanese figure websites that people are using for decades
Agree the head is like a different scale like something mezco would do, wish it was a bit smaller but hell of a figure specially for classic bane as we don’t get him too often
From a body builder stand point his traps look slightly too small. First of all his body is not possible as a natural and his traps look like they belong more to a natural body builder. A big tell if someone is on the juice is their traps
Darwin plot twist was unexpected, made me laugh lol Btw are you planning to review Premium DNA Earthworm Jim? There are a lot of them on AE right now for a ridiculous $15-$20 price. Just got mine and he doesn't have any paint/sculpt issues, I enjoy him a lot.
@@AnthonysCustoms Why though? It's just a marketplace like others with many reliable stores, full-price refunds and customer protection if you received something wrong or the delivery was too long. I don't uderstand some people's distrust to AE.
@@AnthonysCustoms Because many factories are in China and AE is Chinese. But it depend on a product, for most products the price point difference is not so huge. I just got mine (waited for your review before pulling the trigger) and I'm pleasantly surprised at how solid the figure is (Figma has some issues when they do bigger figures).
I want to buy this figure, but instead of having an angry flip face, they could have added a ripped up mask with parts of his face showing and his face is angry.
I ended up with the Mafex Knightfall Batman and I'm still on the fence with Bane. I've still got my DCUC CNC Bane and I absolutely love him despite his antiquated articulation and size he's amazing but I think the Mafex may be an order for me after watching your review. Thanks Anthony!
I was sold on his design alone but his head is definitely too big. This will be my first Bane figure, can’t wait to pose him breaking my non-batman figures. Thanks for the review.
I was on the fence about this one but a local guy was selling him MIB for $85 which seemed like something I shouldn't pass on. I like this figure a lot! I also just finished reading Knightfall/Knight Quest/Knight's End all the way through so that probably put me in the mood.
Arkham City and Arkham Asylum Bane was between 8-9 feet tall without using venom, and even bigger depending on how much venom he used. I think McFarlane was going with that measurement.
overall my favorite bane figure. mafex does pretty much nail it with every release. exception for me is hush joker, which isn't bad bad, but disappointing. same thinking, i'd rather buy expensive but really good figures vs crappy Mcfarlane figures. i'll buy some but only if it's really good. This is the Knightfall Bane so the size is as big as he should be vs Batman. Cover artwork and later iterations made him look gigantic, so this is fine.
