I'm watching this, and my LAS notification email arrives telling me that my Stan Clicker has been delivered. Thank you PJ and Joel. And yes, I have taken the course. I can't wait to get after it with this release! #nomatterwhat
Congratulations for making a release that is different and I believe will help many people. I’ll stick with my polished evolution but I know it’s not for everyone. This will help many people get set up and calm on the target.
@@eclipsearchery9387 I know this is from a year ago but I'm just getting back into archery and found this video. I agree with you to an extent however, I had target panic worse than anybody I've ever seen back in the 90s and "the answer release" cured it for me. There's no possible way to have target panic with that release. Getting it to fire is the hardest part lol
I’m using the perfex now and I enjoy it so I don’t think I need to spend $300 now but make one with a way to fasten a string or strap to keep it on my hand
Just to confirm… sounds like Joel is saying not to use this as a “tension” activated break, and actually more of a controlled push of the thumb button? I guess my question is what’s the difference between punching the trigger and this method?
The most accurate way to shoot any release is to just press or rotate the release. However, people pull and pull and pull because they don’t have the ability to shoot accurately with single digit manipulation. So whether it’s a hinge or thumb they have to pull to make it fire because if they don’t then they will punch.
In 15 years of shooting a bow, I just learned the most monumental lesson of all. I shoot a index and must get myself one of these Stan Onnex Clickers. What are the failure points in this release?
I bought a regular thumb button and think im going to get the Resistance for target. I think that back tension will be more beneficial for me but ig we'll see!
What about training with a timer ( making a sound at a set time ) after the click. Training the brain and muscles to perform in. Repetitive time trained manor?
I have a Scott Pursuit and love it, but I’m ready to upgrade to a softer release. The Scott is prefect for learning how to use a thumb button but is a little stiff. I want either this or the UV thumb. Are either of them wrist strap compatible? I’m just more comfortable with it. PS: this gave me major 90’s infomercial vibes. I loved every second. Joel is a cool guy.
I've heard a thumb or finger release will cause the other hand's thumb or finger to make the same gesture as the firing hand, thus result in torque. Is this an overblown point?
I’ve just bought the standard thumb no click I’ve had many releases with clicks and for me they do nothing but anticipate a shot I wait for that click then proceed to take the shot as it an anxious thing for me really ruins most my shots, not only that it will spook animals if it’s loud enough keep the target stuff for home. It’s meant to be a surprise shot not a surprise if your brains waiting for a click its commanded I’ve had target panic worse then many I panic at the release it’s nothing to do with pin float it’s the release part I’ve shot the lot but a light trigger and a steady thumb movement gives me that shot I didn’t know happened do what works for you people will end up with target panic trying to fix things that don’t need fixing..
I love my Onnex C. Just shoot one before y'all hate man. Joel is a smart guy, a whole bunch of hate on him for what!? Growin the sport and making better, more accurate archers and shooters in general? Make it make sense!
Hate? I can see why someone would see the whole system aspect as a kind of crux, that some use to overcome their anxiety - kinda like a stoic philosophy that has issues when it comes to the feeling aspect behind making any decision (to shoot a bow for instance, time and time again). Maybe look at some videos why some criticize stoicism in general.. Don't forget, the bow shoots the arrow and the arrow always hits its target - the responsibility of using one's power to load the bow and then release it, is where the human comes in (minus building and maintaining the tools and what not)...
I see this as more a stresser and cause of target panic. Squeeze until you get a click, and then talk yourself through the fact the release hasn't gone off, Oh, I can't let down, still hasn't gone off, so just punch it and send it, no need to aim and focus on P.O.I. Just get a good hinge or resistance release and set it up right. Pull through a shot, no punching, no trigger manipulation.
That was my thoughts. I bought one and it’s complete opposite. It’s less anxious than a hinge with a clicker. Idk why I’ve always shot hinges mostly and thumb button from time to time but it’s surprisingly different than I thought it would be on shot process.
I’m failing to see how this addresses target panic more than a pull-through shot with a back tension release and/or thumb button(?). I’ve tried it, with little success.
I feel like you wouldn’t want to have a click while hunting but I know people use hinge. Serious question, is the click not loud enough to matter while hunting ?
From my experience with this click and others, I think it would be okay while hunting. But it's something worth considering for every hunter. We all know deer and other animals can be finicky especially at close range.
@@LancasterArcherySupply thanks for the response! I’ve always wondered 🤔 love your company and the channel. Being a year into bow hunting your videos have helped me a ton!
I said it before ... this click-thumb-release is one of the biggest improvements on the system. Would not be surprised one bit if other manufactors will copy this. Can't wait untill this release comes available over here at my local shop.
Why do they make such a big deal about this? Do people really have "panic" or are they just trying to sell stuff? I have an onnex and love it. I have it set as light as possible and it goes off perfectly every time.
It's all a money gimic for Mr. T. This contradicts all his other lessons he teaches. So now you gotta buy this new release take another seminar and become a pro 😂😂😂😂
just point and shoot I'm not convinced. this release will help that much. for someone that has target panic issues ect sometimes a click can make the issue worse
No, because as I understand it, single digit manipulation is a continuation of what got you to the click. It will still yield a surprise shot because the motion is slow enough to stop. There is no stopping once you decide to punch the trigger. This at least is my understanding of his method.
Pressing the trigger deliberately or commanding the shot is not the same as punching a release. "Punching" implies rushing the shot and loosing the arrow before you are relaxed and settled on target. Commanding the shot just means you are on target and decide when the arrow is going to fire instead of letting it surprise you.
Not at all. He’s saying using your thumb to move the trigger in a way that actually makes it fire rather than pulling with your whole arm or back and adding tons of pressure to the bow that doesn’t actually help the release fire. With that being said pressure is good and it’s ultimately what makes the bow be still.
@@raphael6488 I know. Most of his schtick is basic marksmanship adapted to archery and surrounded with pseudo-psychological nonsense to justify the price tag. There is good info in there, but it's not worth $250, IMO.
This is not the proper way to shoot a release people do not shoot this way. This needs to be shot the same as a hinge. Set your thumb on the barrel as you anchor and relax into the click, then some more relaxation while building tension will make it fire. Pulling the trigger is wrong wrong wrong
Not "revelations" as much as learner's advice. If a video helps someone become a better shot, then the video is worthwhile. Or if someone is just interested in the release, they could watch this too.

Yes that is what he is saying. At 7:00 he explains why it’s not a trigger punch
It's more like precision rifle shooting, gradually increase pressure on the trigger till it goes off, without adding extra tension on the string.
The most accurate way to shoot any release is to just press or rotate the release. However, people pull and pull and pull because they don’t have the ability to shoot accurately with single digit manipulation.
