As a huge Machinedramon stan, I gotta say, your opinion on Machinedramon deck theory is the only one I trust or really care about lol That being said, you've given me a ton of food for thought and I've already made a lot of changes to my list. Thank you, Avid Herpetologist. Glory to the Metal Empire!
Thanks friend!! 😊 if you want more to chew on, i neglected to mention it but ive also been chewing on the possibility of BT16 Publimon 👀 alittle more situational but if yellow is your struggle matchup, hesextremely solid! Genuinely black has SO MANY generically good 3a and 4s, its so hard to narrow down what to use 😅 ill tell ya right now though is Sideboards ever enter the game, Publimon is an autoinclude for me!
I agree a lot with this list for the format. But, some things I've been trying is to reduce the number of lv4 to like 3-4 and adding Memory Boost. I realised that I only really want to see 1-2 lv4 maximum throughout a game and more than that, it starts to become a brick. With Supreme and MemoryBoosts it's not hard to find a lv4 even playing 4 or less. Also memory boosts help a lot if you need to use supreme to drop a lv5 and evolve into ChaosDramon in the same turn.
Agree for the most part! I will say thats exactly why im playing the 4s that i am, the bodies are ones im comfortable hard-playing to extend my board that still provide value outside of the raising area. I hard play Hover pretty frequently just to expand my ability to agress / close out games, its a really tricky balancing act wanting to have the option of building in raising in the matchups where i need to, while being able to play straight from the hand if my board gets cleared. Another 4 ive been toying with is Publimon, i may end up swapping out the Guardromons for a pair of em. There are just so many options for our base at this point its hard to pick just one thing 😂
I'm loving it... tested this with Kokuwamon instead of Hagurumon X and it works wonders, at least until I get me some Hagurumon Xs. What is the best alternative to Raremon (because I can't get one for less than 60 bucks)? Great video.
Tbh, there are a metric ton 😅 its entirely dependant on your meta and what you feel the most concerned about. Literally any of the following are viable in a vaccuum- Ex1 Guardromon (draw power) Bt16 Publimon (situational but very powerful) Bt15 Gladimon (synergies i mentioned in the vid) St15 Greymon (bonus points if youre playing Tai, extra bonus points if you also opt to play st15 Agumon) Bt12 Mercurymon / Grumblemon (hybrid for game still excellent option) Bt5 Mekanorimon (pretty fragile these days, but still shuts down agression for a few turns, especially backed up by Tai) Either vanille Numemon or Tankmon for raw stats efficiency Honestly the list goes on and on 😅 id say experiment and see what it is you need in that space. Its guna take lots of trial and error for sure, but Raremon is NOT a Necessity!
@kingdragoonmk10 cyberdramon isnt until December 😭😭 its guna be a long wait sadly. As far as trailmon, yep! The collision / security trash route is guna be another new direction Machine can take, but its guna be kind of awkward since Trail cant be tucked by EX1 Machine or EX3 Chaosdramon. Its something im looking forward to experimenting with though!
I kinda like to split supreme connection and Memory boost becuase in my testing if i see too many i end up getting myself in a spot where the i no the top cards of my deck wont help me advance further in the game
An odd question. How do you feel about a one of the purple Matt from the starter over one of the Tais? You lose a little bit of power, but you gain the ability to start at 5 most turns. You could potentially go into Machinedramon EX01 and retain turn. And if you used Attack of the heavy, you could go into Chaos or Chaos X and be able to swing afterwards.
I also do this and man does it feel good but i think it's definitely locals dependant. My most recent outing had 4 games and 3 of them were magnaX. Not always having that extra 2k from tai hurt. My list is already similar to his one (minus raremon) but losing Matt is a tough call. Such decisions
Not odd at all! Ive played Matt in some of my past lists, hes definately a hidden gem in Machine lists! Space is just tiggt and since this is a format dominated by massive bodies with lots of effect protections i opted for Tai to make sure we can get over them when we need to :)
You gotta try 8 ukkomon/4 tapir Demimeramon eggs. Just got 2nd at my Evo cup with it losing to Yellow Armor in the finals. The Ukkomon/Demimeras give you so much draw your able to slam machines very often and ofc like you said. Being Immune to DP in this meta is insane.
@@TheDarkagee I'll take a picture of it and link an Imgur. But its been working great so far, got 2nd at an Evo cup only losing to Yellow Vac. (They opened Patamon/T.K both games was hard to keep up)

i'm using 2 copies of ex3 cyberdramon instead of DP megadra/gigadra because it is all turns, as well as 2 ex2 ryo akiyama for 1k until the end of my opponents turn when i swing with machinedra. since i'm still using commandra/hi-commandra to be immune to chaos degrade/angemon, the ryos basically search like 70%+ of the deck, since i have 'dramons' in every level. for more synergy with ryo's dramon search, a lot of my level 5s are replaced with dramon equivalents, such as replacing st15 metalgreymon with ex1 megadramon for the eggs i am using st15 koromon for 1k all turns when i block, or my opponent blocks, and 1 bt14 missimon to prevent myself from decking out in long grindy matchups by recycling my commandramons/hi-commandramons lvl 6s i'm running 3 bt11 machinedramon, 3 chaosdra, 2 ex1 machinedra, 2 chaos x with 0 supreme connection, but maybe i'll try your idea of cutting bt11 machinedra for supreme connections and more ex1 machinedra since DP neg is everywhere this format.
That approach is def not one ive heard! I like the d-brigade package alot but hadnt considered how well it synergizes with Ryo. As far as top end yeah, I strongly recommend swapping out the machines for connections. Im actually adjusting my list after some more testing, going down to only 7 rookies and 5 champs while bumping up AHMD to 3, its just utterly vital to be able to blitz in EX1 on pivotal turns. Ex1 is by far the best card in the deck right now, ive considered bumping him up to 4 even, but i think that could be a few too heavy on the topend. I will say time and time again Tai is proving to be exceptional this format, the dp boost is relevant in just about every matchup right now. Im still very wary of EX3 Cyberdramon though, there are situations id rather just have the boost, especially in the Tyrant matchup where if its Cyberdramon you cant swing over it unless they choose to redirect, and i tend to shy away from scenarios that put the decision in my opponents hands. That being said, including a copy of ex3 WITH the bt6 pair sounds solid. I even said in the video, db buffs are hugely relevant right now.
@@AvidHerpetologist when you attack with machine, you can suspend ryo to give machinedramon 1k, and when he becomes suspended he keeps your ex3 cyberdramon's DP buff active when you attack, giving +3k in total both on your turn and your opponent's turn, but yeah it definitely can be bad if you don't see both when you need to, i understand the preference of consistency with the DP megadramon/gigadramons
Quick question, I know it might be dumb, but my friends takes this as gospel. Can I digivolve into Miragegaogamon Burst mode regularly? My friend told me there was an errata where the burst modes can only burst digivolve.
That is incorrect, no such errata exists. Burst digivolving is just an alternate digivolution condition, it's in the same vein as DNA Digivolving or any of the other such methods. If you meet the special digivolution method requirements you are free to use that alternate method, but as long as there's base digivolution requirements (a colored circle that outlines what you digivolve from on the left side of the card) you can digivolve using that method at any time. Just like if I have bt8 Kimeramon, obviously digivolving through the DNA method is preferred, but he can still digivolve from any color level 4 for a cost of 4

been testing the purple base ukkomon machinedramon people are talking about here, it is indeed way faster than the traditional build. however, i'm just guessing at the ratios/tech right now. wish someone would do a deck profile of one that they topped with
I picked up the materials for purple base and am just waiting to get a few things in the mail atm! I think purple base has a lot of strengths, it just also has some scary weaknesses. If you cant establish a black source you can have a hard time doing much during the course of the game, but Ukko and Demimera can obviously help to hopefully keep that from being a problem
@@AvidHerpetologist yeah, it's rough playing out the supreme connections if you don't have analogman and the opponent has a chokehold on the field, like versus numemon or yellow decks for example. floodgates that prevent supreme connection and or ex1 machinedramon's memory gain is also a problem, and numemon can comfortably run both

Yeah Purple base has kinda taken over as the new Red base, its the "disposable rookies and then play megazoo" playstyle from back when. I love that the deck is getting more and more ways to play it, but i swear this is also why people dont bother picking the deck up, theres just too many options and everyone approaches it differently 😅 why take the time to figure out a build that works, then learn your specific build's playstyle and matchups, and practice wjth it, when you can just pick up Nume or Mirage where 90% of your deck is already decided the second you select your archetype 🙃
