    I was planning on getting a Cybertruck, and had been on their waiting list for years. But then last Spring Tesla opened their Superchargers to Ford, and I bought a Lightning about a week later. Funny ... I also have the same A2Z adapter, which fits PERFECT in the driver's door pocket. 🙂

      I've heard from people that own both and they said that they prefer the Lightning, so I think both of us made the right choice :-) I just got back from my trip and what's funny about the adapter is that I received the Ford adapter randomly out of the blue while I was gone.

      I had a cybertruck reservation too and test drove one a couple months ago but ended up getting a lightning flash 2 weeks ago. The lightning is a better deal and has a nicer interior with better all around visibility. I’m real happy with my choice.

      What is the actual miles per Kw?
      I charge my Tesla X to 80%, drive until less than 30%. I charge back to 80% and miles divided by Kw added are 2.6 miles per Kw.
      The trip counter always shows about 10% better but True miles are topping back up an dividing

    Let me give you some additional information as a five-time Tesla owner. Unless you have an LFP (lithium ion phosphate) battery in your truck, you really should only charge up to 80% because that extra amount over 80 take so much longer to reach. On the other side, you should try to reach a supercharger with a less than 10% in the battery. The charging curve is at its highest/fastest at that range. Teslas normally have a 25 to 30 mile buffer once you reach zero state of charge. Not sure if Ford does the same thing. So, when I road trip I usually stop for 15-20 minutes, tops for each charge and move on. Hope this info helps.

    Mach-E owner here. The screen UI/Interface looks the same and I believe the app is the same as well. You will want to set your charge limit to only your home and leave your everywhere charge limit to 100%. That way when you are home it charges to whatever limit you set but anytime you are anywhere else it always goes to 100%.

    Just got my Tesla adapter last Friday. I'm going to test sport mode again here man. She is getting thirsty as the weather is cooling down! 48 KWH for 108 km the other day, lol. Mostly wind related and driving through a lot of water. Thanks for posting the road trip here.

      @@F150LightningMike It's going well this time. It changes something with the thermals for efficiency in the cold for sure I'd say. My bluetooth OBD2 reader quit, so I can't tell what that is right now. Anyways 33 KWH return trip commute yesterday and I have been in the 40s for a while for charging top up.

    I think sport works better for efficiency in colder weather. Managed 30 kwh/100 km on the commute back today and I've not managed that since the end of summer. Seemed the same as normal mode in the summer, but I think there is something different with the thermal management for winter in sport. It seems to help, I'm going to keep the testing up here. I've been sitting at 35 to 40+ kwh per 100 km for about a month now with the highway commute in normal.

    Couple questions. What average speeds are you driving? And the “one time charge” limit should be able to do right in the screen under charging. And I watch a few more minutes and it appears you figured it out. 😁

    • @F150LightningMike
      @F150LightningMike  Місяць тому +2

      I was driving the speed limit which average anywhere from 45 all the way to 75. Most of the time it was probably 65. The cool thing is is that I have my truck set to match the speed limit signs so it will automatically adjust for me when I hit a small town and it all the sudden drops and then I’ll speed back up right on time so it actually works out pretty well. As far as the charge limit, I had somebody else comment about that too and I knew about the setting in the truck. I just had a brain fart. I guess driving does that to you? :-)

    • @Astrand1
      @Astrand1 Місяць тому

      @ it does. I’m 51 so I call it a senior moment. 🤣 I had that speed match thing on but I don’t like how it really hits the brakes hard when it sees lower speeds. I’ve done some updates since I tried it last (I have a yearly sub to fdrs) maybe I’ll try it again to see if it’s any better. Great video by the way.

      @F150LightningMike  Місяць тому +1

      I’m sorry to hear that. What are the issues that you have been having? I did receive a recall notice on the front sensors, but so many people have had their truck bricked when they get that fixed. I’m not planning on bringing mine in for that unless my sensors aren’t working. Which is what the recall said that you only need to have it done if they’re not working.

      V2 dispensers cannot communicate with CCS vehicles due to hardware limitations. Most V3 sites are open to selected CCS brands. All V3.5 sites are open to selected CCS brands. All V3 and V3.5 sites will convert to J3400 compliance down the road as other CPO's build out their J3400 sites. NACS will be abandoned with the exception to V2 sites but they will eventually be pulled from service as time goes on. V2 sites can be identified by the silver band on the dispenser handle.

      It slows down of course after you hit 80% And it’s pretty consistent after it hits 70% that I will start seeing it slow down a little bit where by the time it gets to 79% right before it hits 80% it’s about 120

      Agreed that makes sense … but it was late when I got there and no other EVs pulled in the whole time and the only way for me to pull in and charge at a different stall would have been blocking 2 if not 3 spots. This was a weird one. Thanks for watching.
