- Always an adventure when going fishing, what an awesome day, caught some beautiful White Stumpnose and a small Kob, didn't expect that. Just another family outing turned out to be a great fishing adventure. Prawn was used as bait.

hi man im new to fishing i love your videos you post. awsome stuff. can you please advise when is the best time to pump prawns for fishing ? thanks im from cape town but i plan to go fish alot at harbor island in gordons bay because i have family there.
@StephenStigling Hi Stephen, thank you much appreciated! Depends where you want to pump prawn. I usually pump in rooi Els or Palmiet near kleinmond. Best is at low tide otherwise you struggle to get prawns. 🎣🎣

Hi, no not only Gordon's Bay. I catch in different areas surrounding Strand and Gordon's Bay. Like Macassar, Betty's Bay, Pearly Beach. 🎣🎣🤙🏻
Sounds fun and your video's will be supper help full for me cause we moved to Gordens bay al the way from Rustenburg North West and I was a big angler at dams there and sea fishing will be something new so I got alot of studying to do🤣💪

Illegal to collect bait in GB , that include pumping prawns
I know between "The draad" and end of Gordon's Bay camping site is Nature conservation but I will investigate it. Was also informed on Facebook so I will check it out. Thanks for the interest, much appreciated 🎣🤙🏻

@@crazyforfishingsa Hi Johan was on the beach yesterday to pump prawn, and officers of the city of Cape town's marine protection side came to me and said it is illegal to pump prawn up to the old Harbour. It is a no take zone. So yes it is definitely illegal.
@@henniebadenhorst8722 Well in all the years I've been pumping there not one officer has confronted me and there are quite a few regulars that pump there, I have researched it and no where does it state you may not pump prawn there, it does state NO fishing and NO disturbing or collecting of west coast rock lobster, should you have any documented proof you are welcome to send it to us that states otherwise. 🎣🤙🏻
With regards to the questioning of whether or not it is illegal to pump prawn in Gordon's Bay: I have researched the legality of pumping prawn and IF it is a MPA(Marine Protected Area)then NO you are NOT allowed to pump prawn or any fishing activity whatsoever, according to Google the MPA for Helderberg lies between the Eerste River and Lourens River which is a NO TAKE zone. Again, according to Google there is a Closed Area between the Lourens River Mouth in Strand until Old Harbour Gordon's Bay, Closed area according to Marine Recreational Brochure 2017/2018 states that NO person shall in any manner, for any purpose, engage in fishing, collecting or disturbing West Coast Rock Lobster within the area within 12 nautical miles seaward. It does NOT state no collecting of bait, it would however be illegal should one not have a bait license which is obtainable at any Post Office which I do possess. Should anyone have any information stating otherwise they are welcome to supply me with this information. 🎣🎣🎣🤙🏻
