i dont usually leave a comment under videos but I HAD to say a thank you. It was confusing me for such a long time and in the end all that was needed was a simple explanation. You're great!
perfectly explained, before the video I had no clue, now I can do it perfectly. didn't even have to go back. Thank you! Also now I'm a bit bummed that there might not be a hard task about this on the exam lol
If its a sigma bond (BO) then it is gerade, and if it is a sigma* bond(ABO) , then ungrade. If it is a pi bond then ungerade. and if it is pi* bond then gerade. You can just do constructive and destructive addition of diffrent types of atomic orbitals to find that out.
this saved my life in first year university general chemistry, thank you so much!!!
YOURE STUDYING THIS IN UNI???? WHY AM I DOING THIS IN HIGHSCHOOL
Same dude!!! I'm in my first semester of uni and I have general chemistry exam on Sunday 🤡

now how do I draw the entire diagram given just the name of the atom or compound
it is really very helpful
AH THIS HELPS
Thank you very helpful video.
Isnt it Zavg > 7? Cause then NO and CO would have to be the same?
Im assuming sp mixing is the reasoning behind the differences of the two models based on Zavg
perfectly explained, before the video I had no clue, now I can do it perfectly. didn't even have to go back. Thank you!
Also now I'm a bit bummed that there might not be a hard task about this on the exam lol
Amazing
But when you are using this for ions, the Z more than or less than 8 thing doesnt really work?
do you have a video for group theory? sincerely a struggling pchem student :)
Very helpful, saved me from physical chemistry, very clear explanation, many thanks :) btw how do you know if it's "g" or "u" ?
If its a sigma bond (BO) then it is gerade, and if it is a sigma* bond(ABO) , then ungrade. If it is a pi bond then ungerade. and if it is pi* bond then gerade. You can just do constructive and destructive addition of diffrent types of atomic orbitals to find that out.
Thanks This Helped Me In My 8th Class 😁
More helpful thanks
Why do the pi bonds get electrons first if the atomic number is less than 8?
