i said no to my chinese boss who i used to habitually go out with for dinner and drink in restaurants. he would frequently take me out to drink with him. one such night he wanted me to drink with him, i refused. he pushed the glass over to my side but i decided to say no, and a thought came to me as i said no to him that had not previously occured and i said to myself, if i drink alcohol on my own then i am a slave of my nufs, but if i drink on his order fearing him over fearing Allah then i have feared and obeyed a fat middle aged disbelieving human being over Allah az wa jal. i said no and i saw his face trunning red. he passed the glass again, i said no again, this went on for a while each time we would eat little food and then he would ask me to drink to which i would say no, each time him getting angrier (he knew i was a muslim but i used to drink with him before out of my own will), this particular time i had a strange consciousness on the command of Allah , and a sense as if being watched for my choice . he would push the glass towards me time to time and get frustrated every time i turned it down. (in china if you refuse to drink with the boss it is considered an act of disrespect). in the end he said, just take a small sip or touch the glass with your mouth to show me that you are drinking it with me and that you and i are one (solidarity). at that time i felt as if this man was the devil himself and he just wanted me to disobey Allah and as soon as i would do that, he would not have cared if i drank the whole night or just that one sip. at that moment my resolve became firm and he finally stopped and he took my persistence as a sign of disrespect. after that moment my relationship became bitter with him day by day but i did not get worried about it in the least. a few months or weeks later that year i went back to my country for some personal matters and when returned to china out of nowhere i got this call. there was this agent asking me to fill in a position asap. i did not even have time to respond to her or ask her any questions and after talking with me on the phone briefly and just asking basic information like experience and such they wanted me to come over to that bigger city the next morning for the interview. the salary was 9 times more. praise be to Allah the lord of the worlds. the next thing i did was i quit the old job

I've watched this to give me strength. I do not feel people who drink alcohol or gamble are bad. I feel the message from Allah is to protect me. My friends will love me if I drink alcohol at "night of drinks" or if I chose to drink non-alcohol and drive my friends/co-workers home. I'm the sober person that protects my friends from being hurt or hurting another from drink. I feel good about my decision. Not one person said anything bad about that night. I'm the "cool" person. I get people home safely and also help them find another path for their stress.
@Mostafa Tarek Apologies if i am ignorant and i in no way or shape have a strong hold on the religion. My understanding is that there are hard and fast rules re haram(ie interest/flesh of pig/shirk/eating animals that were not in the gods name). These are strongly stated with no ambiguity. I do understand that on a macro level ETOH is bad and destroys lives. Medically EOTH may be beneficial especially with respect to cardiovascular health. On a mico/individual level if the person can control i wonder if potential sins can be controlled. BTW in a middle age man who really just started to engage in exercises on the understanding of the quran as opposed to simply reading arabic without any knowledge. Also i enjoyed Noumans lecture and I also DONT drink at all

I am 28 years old and I started drinking when i was very young, about 13 or 14. I had a few drinks once in a great while until i was about 19. At 19 i started drinking a lot. When I was about 24-25 i was listening to a lecture from Sheikh Abdurrheem Green in which he was stating what is stopping us from praying. I was working in my fathers store and I thought I believe in Allah and Islam but why don't i pray? So for the first time in a long time I made uzhu and I prayed in the office of my fathers business. Everything was fine when i was praying salah but when I went to do my duah something came over me and I could not stop crying. I was thinking of how I was as a child and the dreams and goals i had for myself as a child during my duah. I asked Allah to forgive me for wronging myself and for commiting major sins. I had been working all day and I swear to you after my dua my body smelled so clean, like soap. When I went home and was next to my wife the first thing she said to me was why do you smell so good. Wallahi, this is a true story. The problem I am having now is that I had some major problems in my life and am back to my old self, but this time in my heart I know what i am doing is wrong. I want to stop but i can't, does anybody have any advice for me? What can I do? What is wrong with me that I can't stop my sins? I feel like such a weak person sometimes.
Allah says....He doesn't burden anyone beyond his very own potential...... believe in yourself that you can overcome it InshaAllah Allah Azzawajal will help...................
Are you spending time with people you may be freinds with that drink may be distancing yourself from them would be better and it would by no means be easy because you get a sense of belonginness and hapiness and feeling of safety from their company, in this day and age holding on to islam is likened to be holding on to hot coals. So take the difficult path and seek hapiness, safety and belongingness only from Allah and from your family or pious freinds in the righful way. This will continue to test your strength and you have to continue to fight the urge. (Speaking from experience, not with Alcohol but with another similar test in my life that I had to conquer.)
In Buddhism and Islam, alchohol is prohibitted. I, as a Buddhist, love this. "There are, these six evil consequences in indulging in intoxicants which cause infatuation and heedlessness: (i) loss of wealth, (ii) increase of quarrels, (iii) susceptibility to disease, (iv) earning an evil reputation, (v) shameless exposure of body, (vi) weakening of intellect. : Gotama Buddha (Anguttara Nikaya)
@quranweekly Aoa! I really loved your drinking and gambling video. It gave me a lot of potent sources to bring up in a debate about the forbiddance of drinking in Islam. I was wondering how one would respond to the argument that drinking in moderation should be allowed because then one is not really impaired. This argument is brought up a lot, particularly by non-Muslims. Thanks so much!

What about medicinal products with high content alcohol ? How should one purify self if after consumption? Is it allowed ? I don't like alcohol I can hardly spell it if it was not for autocorrect but I still need to know. Thanks
@Iashai- Asalamualaikum. There is a hadith that states that "whatever intoxicates in big quantity, a small amount of it is haram.". And since alcohol intoxicates in large quantity, it is therefore haram to even take a sip of it.
I have been told by many people that drinking alcohol is ok but if you lost your senses and gone crazy and act badly that will be haram is it right plz help me with this statement im confused
So is vanilla extract or other food products with trace alcohol permissible to consume? I've done a lot of research on this and just about everyone says it is halal to consume such products with a very low percentage of alcohol.
Rezwan Biswas if you have it by mistake, Allah is forgiving. I have had vanilla flavoured things that may have had alcohol. Same for Soya sauce. But avoid it if you see it written on the product as much as you can. Let’s leave rest to Allah 🙂

As-salaamu alaykum, noble the intention but don't fret, just because a food is made with alcohol like let's say Vodka Pasta it doesn't make it haram. Once the alcohol is exposed to the heat of cooking a chemical reaction takes place and the vodka becomes something similar to an aged vinegar. Once the dish is ready the alcohol has lost all intoxicating properties.
repentence has no method. its how u feel inside you. you need to truly feel guilty for ur sin and sit in a quite room and pray to Allah. cry to him for forgiveness only he can forgive you. may allah accept your dua ameen
Peace and blessings. Your view is incorrect, respectfully. There are 4 conditions to forgiveness in Islam. First you admit the sin to Allah alone. Then you regret it. Then you ask Allah for forgiveness with sincerity. Then you promise not to do it again. When these conditions are fulfilled, the sin is erased from your record. Check out Mufti Men, conditions of forgiveness for more information. And as always, Allah knows best.
Who amongst "us"...is clean? What human being on Earth is clean? Why couldn't Allah hear a drunken prayer? Would it not be a prayer from the inner most part of a broken vessel? I read the Quran and the Bible...I seek..and i will continue to do so.
Don't Come to Canada I disagree Alchoal is a food for centuties in Europe or western culture beer was called liquid bread because it was safer than water even doctor's today say that Alchoal beer can protect you from altimeter and parkinsin desise so Alchoal is not evil it's over drinking everything in moderation is healthy besides a study from UK pointed out that those who don't drink die earlier so it's a Calture thing for white western countries or countries under western imperialism Alchoal is a Calture and a way to celebrate
i don't drink alcohol or drink wine or gamble i still feel like you'll loose more then you win money... but how do we know our food doesn't have wine or sweets .. also what if we ask if it has wine and they tell us no wine but it has .. i'm confused
What possible benefits could even be in alcohol and gambling addiction?? Can someone mention any benefits, because I cannot find any. Why is the message then formulated in this way, talking about sins being higher than benefits, instead of saying that they are both strictly forbidden?
Tell me I drank beer and then I prayed and asked for forgiveness to Allah so my prayer got accepted or not? As ppl are saying that it's for 40 days my prayers won't get accepted but I didn't got drunk I was in my all senses because I didn't drink wine it was just a beer.
@tariq Talha, drinking beer and wine has sanction of Allah, see verses below, Actually, consuming alcohol isn’t illegal. Quran 16.67 “And of the fruits of the date palms and the grapes, you obtain alcoholic drinks and goods. Verily in that is a sign for a people who use their understanding.” In this verse without a doubt is said that God bestowed grapes and dates upon people, so they can make alcoholic drinks from them. That’s right, wine making is encouraged here. Since we know for sure now that alcohol was not prohibited, but even encouraged, it’s interesting to see how the prophet Muhammad handled his liquor. There are plenty of examples in the (tales about Muhammad’s life that are used to understand the meaning of the Quran) that prove he indeed drank alcohol. Here is the most interesting one: Muslim 3753 “We were with the prophet of Allah and he was thirsty. And a man said: ‘O prophet of Allah, do you want to drink wine?’ Prophet of Allah said: ‘Yes’. The man went to get the wine. The prophet of Allah said: ‘Make it intoxicated’. And he drank.” Because the Arabian word that was used ‘nabeed’ can also mean alcohol free wine, the addition by the prophet that is must be intoxicated is a very valuable one. There are plenty more passages where Muhammad is drinking wine, both in the morning and in the evening. In many cases the Islamic opponents of alcohol can hide behind the double meaning of the word ‘nabeed’, but in the last habith the Arabic word ‘khamra’ is used, which means alcohol. And actually Muhammad wasn’t the only one drinking, so did his companions. serves alcohol in Muslim 23, 4884 and 4886. … the conclusion must be that although moderation of alcohol is encouraged in Islam, it is absolutely not prohibited. The Quran states nowhere that it is haraam or sinful. The prophet Muhhamad himself that is a role-model for Muslims himself drank wine, just like his companions and Jesus, who in Islam is also considered a prophet. (excerpted from ) 8.3k views · · Gratitude and Dua for your very important question, Jawad Quran does not specify "Alcohol" in any verse. This word is not used in Quran. Quran prohibits "Kham'r". This is an Arabic term meaning "Covering". A piece of cloth used to cover a woman's face or her chest or her head is called, "Khimar" in Arabic. Kham'r is any substance or emotion or feeling that covers one's judgment and reasoning about right from wrong. It can be defined as a state of "intoxication", a state of "altered consciousness", a state of "stupor". I have to admit that Quran has an all encompassing style to include ALL that can cause an altercation of senses and power of judgment First revelation about intoxicants: [2:219]: "They ask you about intoxicants and gambling: say, "In them there is a gross "ithm" (sin), and some benefits for the people. But their sinfulness far outweighs their benefit." Notice how "some" benefits are mentioned since it was impossible for the new Muslims to wake up one morning and discover alcohol drinking prohibited Second revelation actually put a curfew and demanded that prayers have to be offered with a clean mind and full comprehension of what one is saying to Allah. This made alcohol drinking quite incompatible with prayers and the companions actually started praying that the Quran will actually prohibit alcohol and other intoxicants 4:43: "O you who acknowledge, Do not go near prayer, (Salat) while you are stupified (under influence), until you know what you are saying" So only before going fir namaz you should not be drunk Above all remember , wine is allowed in paradise so why is it not allowed in earth.
@phil souzam dont post stupid stuff like that encouraging alchohol to muslims. Read the quran people dont trust people on the internet in comment section. Astagfurillah
One issue i had is why in the quran does it "refer to rivers of wine"(47:15). Why would there be that statement in the quran if alcohol was to be barred anyway? The ambiguity of the subject stemmed from the reference such as the above on the subject of etoh. Why in Jesus time was it allowed? Again the creator knew the sins of ETOH before ETOH was ever made?
The verse is talking about Jannah. Things are different in Jannah, there is just the good parts minus the bad parts. Before speaking of the rivers of wine it says about the rivers of milk that doesn't sour. Where in this world does milk don't get sour? Nowhere. So conditions in Jannah are different according to Allah's Will. Quran.com/47/15 Even in the time of Isa / Jesus (peace be upon him) alcoholic drinks are forbidden. That ayah you are referring to can be a motivation for some people when times get tough and friends are saying "you're missin' out" just because they said no and they say to themselves "No, I'm not missing out on anything. What Allah has in Jannah better" ^_^
i drank and wanted to beat an easy game poker easy money but what's happens when you can't stop Allah shattered my alcoholism to oblivion AA did everything it said in the books could not stop Ruqyah and something happened June 26 th 2018 Allah proved to me that Allah is the One True God I had a Spiritual Awakening that still shook up from it
Wonderful video! Mashaallah! I have a question though, in order to defer young people from drinking, many elders say that if you've had alcohol then you can't pray or fast for 40 days. This then becomes an excuse (or even a sorrow depending on the individual) not to pray or fast despite the fact that those things will help the individual come closer to Allah! Is the 40 day thing true??
because many scholars have adressed them again and again, and people don't really seem to listen. Cigaretts are forbidden in our religion. and Allah knows best.
Nauman Ali Khan Saab, tell us also about selling tobacco and alcohol both in our business, selling only, in detail please. ( not smoking ir consuming our self)
Ummmm... this doesn't line up with Judeo-Christian tradition. If you are not a muslim, don't ask yourself about what this guy is saying, ask yourself if you would be ok with radical muslims FORCING you not to drink on pain of death or 500 lashes! That's what you should think about.
Doesn't exactly mean becoming non-muslim, it simply makes you unclean , impure and sinful for 60 days ,thus you cannot pray nor approach God. That's all i could say maybe there is some further explanations to it.
Aoa I like the video ... I have another query... some people say that they are a alchohal free bear its allowed in islam kindly also make a video on it plz... my point is the thing which is nt allowed in a big amount then even nt a tiny amount of some is allowed .... kindly guid me in this matter... A question if one consumes a small number on rare occasions and to talk and still be in control of mind, body and soul, beer for eg. Wine. Weed. Would it be haraam? Note that it is a small quantity not to be abused taken by a matured and responsible person who is self aware. Will that be haraam then?
Asaalam wa Alaykum, El Hamdulliallah may Allah reward you and your efforts for this video and all the videos you provide us with. I do have a question, how can we explain to a christian, catholic, etc, about Jesus (alahi salam) having wine? or is this a misconception as well? there is always someone who is going to say that having a cup of wine is healthy for you and you drink wine at the churches, etc, i'm not certain how to go about this and hoping maybe someone can refer me to a source
I know that Praying with any forbbiden thing in the body like tatto , plastic organ or while drunk is forbbiden and not accepted till a person removes/sober .
What if you are a bartender and you have to taste the drinks that your making. But not enough to make you intoxicated. Will that be a sin? And if it is will it the same or less of a sin than a man who gets intoxicated?
Brother can you explain about new implemented fantasy games such as dream11 and MPl.are they included kind of gambling? Are they haram for muslim?if not is it possible to play muslims?
Sonia A.H I've heard a story of how music was first created and how the devil used it to make the females of one tribe and the males of the other to get together dance and commit sin. if this story is true, how can any Muslim argue that music is halaal.?
Reflar Haze Hi! I've heard about that story too. Right, but not all kinds of songs are haram to listen, for instance the kinds of singing which are unequivocally prohibited are those which contain the celebration of the material world and includes sexual connotation and that which is also inappropriate in speaking, e.g., swearing, sexually expletive language, and the like.
Sonia A.H This is a heavily debated fact. So I cannot say that it is wrong or right in Islam. I guess it boils down to personal preference. There are plenty of hadith's on the matter of music to help you make up your mind and I can refer them if you wish. in my personal opinion, musical instrument is a creation of Satan, as is evident in the music today, sex money strippers violence etc. and for the songs with decent lyrics, such as outlandish for example, I doubt that I am doing the right thing and if you doubt something than leave it I guess. but that's just imo.

why drink something that is cursed....even if it is a Tablespoon or a cup.... it is still cursed by Allah ( swt).... doesn't mention quantity

this video probably saved my life.
I’m not a Muslim (A COE Christan) but I detest Alcohol and see it as the worlds biggest source of Vice
I drink almost everyday because it calms me down stress from work

@Mostafa Tarek Apologies if i am ignorant and i in no way or shape have a strong hold on the religion. My understanding is that there are hard and fast rules re haram(ie interest/flesh of pig/shirk/eating animals that were not in the gods name). These are strongly stated with no ambiguity. I do understand that on a macro level ETOH is bad and destroys lives. Medically EOTH may be beneficial especially with respect to cardiovascular health. On a mico/individual level if the person can control i wonder if potential sins can be controlled. Hahaha i like this lecturer. So chill yet very strict. Honestly i drink alcohol because i am stressed out and avoiding depression. But also not an alcoholic and i never hurt anyone
forgetting your problems doesnt make them go away. It will make you even more and more depressive. youre hurting yourself. but you can get out of it. i believe that
I am 28 years old and I started drinking when i was very young, about 13 or 14.
Zarif Sadiq, Pray, Pray, Pray and Pray, don't allow the shaitan to defeat you.
"There are, these six evil consequences in indulging in intoxicants which cause infatuation and heedlessness:
(i) loss of wealth,
(ii) increase of quarrels,
(iii) susceptibility to disease,
(iv) earning an evil reputation,
(v) shameless exposure of body,
(vi) weakening of intellect.

Aaaahh I LOVE Islam :) barakAllah u feek for this video!

It's not at all a debate. Alcohol consumption is haram in Islam. We must never consume at any situation. There is no excuse.
If you don't get drunk and stop the thinking process then. please answer

What's the difference between beer and alcohol.
Beer is just the name of the drink. Alcohol is the substance it contains.
As salaamu alaykum brother Nouman, do you have any advice on how to deal with a drunk father who is addicted to alcohol?

Excellent video
As-salaamu alaykum, noble the intention but don't fret, just because a food is made with alcohol like let's say Vodka Pasta it doesn't make it haram. Once the alcohol is exposed to the heat of cooking a chemical reaction takes place and the vodka becomes something similar to an aged vinegar. Once the dish is ready the alcohol has lost all intoxicating properties.
I want to know dubai mahzooz lottery is halal or haram?
can you please make a video of how to repent from sins. Step by step in details. please and thank you
repentence has no method. its how u feel inside you. you need to truly feel guilty for ur sin and sit in a quite room and pray to Allah. cry to him for forgiveness only he can forgive you. may allah accept your dua ameen

What possible benefits could even be in alcohol and gambling addiction?? Can someone mention any benefits, because I cannot find any. Why is the message then formulated in this way, talking about sins being higher than benefits, instead of saying that they are both strictly forbidden?
Will Allah forgive me if I drink wine just for taste
Tell me I drank beer and then I prayed and asked for forgiveness to Allah so my prayer got accepted or not? As ppl are saying that it's for 40 days my prayers won't get accepted but I didn't got drunk I was in my all senses because I didn't drink wine it was just a beer.
@tariq Talha, drinking beer and wine has sanction of Allah, see verses below,
Actually, consuming alcohol isn’t illegal.
Quran 16.67 “And of the fruits of the date palms and the grapes, you obtain alcoholic drinks and goods. Verily in that is a sign for a people who use their understanding.”
In this verse without a doubt is said that God bestowed grapes and dates upon people, so they can make alcoholic drinks from them.
Here is the most interesting one:
Muslim 3753 “We were with the prophet of Allah and he was thirsty. And a man said: ‘O prophet of Allah, do you want to drink wine?’ Prophet of Allah said: ‘Yes’. The man went to get the wine. The prophet of Allah said: ‘Make it intoxicated’. And he drank.”
Because the Arabian word that was used ‘nabeed’ can also mean alcohol free wine, the addition by the prophet that is must be intoxicated is a very valuable one.

Gratitude and Dua for your very important question, Jawad
Quran does not specify "Alcohol" in any verse.
I have to admit that Quran has an all encompassing style to include ALL that can cause an altercation of senses and power of judgment
First revelation about intoxicants: [2:219]: "They ask you about intoxicants and gambling: say, "In them there is a gross "ithm" (sin), and some benefits for the people. But their sinfulness far outweighs their benefit."
Notice how "some" benefits are mentioned since it was impossible for the new Muslims to wake up one morning and discover alcohol drinking prohibited
Second revelation actually put a curfew and demanded that prayers have to be offered with a clean mind and full comprehension of what one is saying to Allah. This made alcohol drinking quite incompatible with prayers and the companions actually started praying that the Quran will actually prohibit alcohol and other intoxicants
4:43: "O you who acknowledge, Do not go near prayer, (Salat) while you are stupified (under influence), until you know what you are saying"
So only before going fir namaz you should not be drunk
Above all remember , wine is allowed in paradise so why is it not allowed in earth.
@phil souzam dont post stupid stuff like that encouraging alchohol to muslims. Read the quran people dont trust people on the internet in comment section. Astagfurillah
Can we give sadaqah to alcohalic muslim relative?
Quran.com/47/15
Even in the time of Isa / Jesus (peace be upon him) alcoholic drinks are forbidden.
I really want to know who are those three who disliked this video
You didn’t say about gambling????
Ummmm... this doesn't line up with Judeo-Christian tradition. If you are not a muslim, don't ask yourself about what this guy is saying, ask yourself if you would be ok with radical muslims FORCING you not to drink on pain of death or 500 lashes! That's what you should think about.
thank you : )
Someone told me that if your drink alcohol you are not a muslim for 60 days .is this true????
Doesn't exactly mean becoming non-muslim, it simply makes you unclean , impure and sinful for 60 days ,thus you cannot pray nor approach God. That's all i could say maybe there is some further explanations to it.

@the crazy cat lady from your neighbourhood I know it can't cure.
A question if one consumes a small number on rare occasions and to talk and still be in control of mind, body and soul, beer for eg. Wine. Weed.
Would it be haraam?
Note that it is a small quantity not to be abused taken by a matured and responsible person who is self aware. Will that be haraam then?
Asaalam wa Alaykum,
El Hamdulliallah may Allah reward you and your efforts for this video and all the videos you provide us with.

Assalamouaalaikoum, is khamr ritually impure?
Brother can you explain about new implemented fantasy games such as dream11 and MPl.are they included kind of gambling? Are they haram for muslim?if not is it possible to play muslims?
so listening to music is also khamar because it overshadows your thought process/doesn't allow you to think clearly?
Sonia Habib Then basically you're a moron to let music control your thought process. You got a brain use it wisely.
no need to be rude
Sonia A.H I've heard a story of how music was first created and how the devil used it to make the females of one tribe and the males of the other to get together dance and commit sin. if this story is true, how can any Muslim argue that music is halaal.?
Reflar Haze Hi! I've heard about that story too. Right, but not all kinds of songs are haram to listen, for instance the kinds of singing which are unequivocally prohibited are those which contain the celebration of the material world and includes sexual connotation and that which is also inappropriate in speaking, e.g., swearing, sexually expletive language, and the like.
Sonia A.H
This is a heavily debated fact.
