That's a safety feature I actually like, experience almost being car jacked just once and you'll appreciate that feature lol.. But I live in the violent crime ridden Cali Bay Area you may not need thay so much wherever you live lol.

I actually do too live in a pro red pro law enforcement county who actually encourages ccw, issuing takes 4 months but that's not bad considering the state I'm in lol. Interesting to check out the ccw map 2021 almost all of our state has become will issue for self-defense only the major liberal cities are may issue or will not.. Go figure lol.
51% of this backwards state are red voters we just don't have safe voting anymore 🤦 so it doesn't much matter.

This procedure worked for all of my Tundra doors but not for the tailgate. Of course my truck is a 2018, so I might need to do something else.
Your truck does not have a remote locking tailgate from the factory. You can buy a kit that is plug and play though.
@@shmanielshralph6954 Is that plug and play kit a Toyota factory kit, or is it aftermarket? Any idea of a part number?

OEM is PK3B6-34JS0
Aftermarket is Pop&Lock PL8547TUN
Aftermarket is going to be cheaper of course but they both work fine.
Bro my problem Tundra I press the remote unlock button outside all door open but driving side door not open...but driving side open in inside but outside not open this door...please help me this problem for solution
Have you tried manually unlocking to see if it will open from the outside. What is the temperature there; I’ve been having problems with my tailgate because of the cold weather but when it warms up the tailgate opens without any problems.
Why your tailgate not locking with remote.
This can be due to settings or cold weather. I noticed that when the weather gets below 40°F my tailgate mechanism stops working
