      The Astros are damn good.
      They scare me but doubt it is 4-1.
      I think that they can win but assume it goes 6-7.
      For the Sox the wild card will be Price. If he pitches like regular season Price then the starting pitching gap isn't that big but if he is game 2/Slash most playoff starts Price then you just give one away to that team which will be tough to dig out of.

      @Cre I have no horse in the race. But regardless, even if they Astro's blow the doors off the Red Sox.... the Sox still stomped NY. NY's pitching was pathetic. Boone coached terribly. And the $25 million dollar man Stanton got 4 base hits and struck out 5 times in 18 AB's.
      So yeah, the Astro's (in my opinion) the best team in baseball. It doesn't change the fact that Boston beat the piss out of the Yankees in their home stadium.

    a few things -
    the point tex was trying to make was that judge *shouldn't* have played new york, new york, not that that was why the yankees lost the series. why play it then? why not wait til you actually win the series before you start gloating? Brock holt basically admitted it gave the sox a little extra juice when they heard about the judge thing (still unclear to me whether or not the red sox players could hear the music in their locker room when it happened, but they certainly heard about it after the fact and probably saw the video.) I guess the general point is that - why give the red sox any extra bulletin board material when you don't have to?
    Next point - i don't know too many sox fans that were really whining about missing out on stanton. I really wasn't upset about that. it's that the yankees gave such a weak sauce package to the marlins to get him. i'm quite happy with JD martinez, thankyouverymuch.

      Aunt Jemima - when your MLB HR record-setting team scores 1 run at home in the tiebreaking game - and you put all the blame on pitching.
      After his New York, New York stunt Judge went 1/7 in that tiny Yankee Stadium. Choke city.

    • @davidkast3587
      @davidkast3587 5 років тому +2

      Pedro Martinez except everyone knows that teams who hit a lot of home runs k a lot. Teams who k a lot suck in the playoffs. The hr is worthless once competition gets real. The Yankees could hit 300 home runs and it won’t mean a thing. I knew since August that they’d be lucky to get to game 5 against the sox in the alcs. The sox are a team built to succeed. The yanks are built to win and then do nothing when facing real competition.

The Yanks have room on their payroll to do some things in the off-season and Red Sox don't. If you sign Harper and make some trades for a starter, you guys are fine. Boone might get the ax next year if no playoffs or no advance in playoffs. Yanks are better off in the future than the sox so cheer up

      AROD was a five tool player, without the speed. AROD was worthy of the large contract, and the Yankees were not WORSE bc of him, maybe they weren’t better, but NOT worse. Stanton makes the Bronx Bombers WORSE bc he’s there, rather than if he were lounging by the pool, on South Beach drinking shots of Tequila with salt and lemon, while listening to Sinatra’s classic rendition of “New York, New York”

    Iifelong Sox fan here. I thought we were done for in the 9th of game 4, especially after Kimbrells hit batsmen made it 4-2 with one out. It was over because there was no way Kimbrell was going to pull himself together enough to throw 3 more strikes. UNLESS the batters lose their minds and start swinging at anything.....enter Sanchez. Does he wait to see if Kimbrell could get near the strike zone? Nope, he swings wildly at the first pitch (way high and way inside). Thank you very much.
    At the other end of the spectrum you have Aaron Judge leading off with his team down by 3 runs facing elimination. It's all about base runners. The stat book has a 4 pitch walk, but 2 of those pitches were borderline. Judge was patient and disciplined. Sanchez wasn't paying attention. If he's patient, I believe the Yankees would have tied up the game or won it right there.

I told them that they just aren't that good when you really look at it. I was off by one game. The Red Sox for 3/4 of the season were unstoppable. Its amazing because when the Yankees were clearly handed Stanton before the season Yankee nation new they got away with one they were not calling for Cashmans head for the deal were they? I hope its AROD all over again. I cant wait for the Yankees to return to Fenway so we can give Stanton a standing ovation. We may have Price but you will have Stanton for twice as long.

    • @Marco73-KA771
      @Marco73-KA771 5 років тому

      We actually love Price. Everyone sees its in his head and cheer for him to overcome it. He really wants to win a post season game. Stanton..doesn't look like he cares as much about that as he does getting away from the media. Price is a head case because he wants it. Stanton is a head case because he doesn't.

      You may be right... but here's the thing Jared. You don't want to give your opponent ANY edge whatsoever. It was a dumb move. It's like when the other team talks trash about your side before a big game. That kinda stuff gets pinned to the wall in the locker room as EXTRA motivation to beat those suckers. So, while it's true that the Judge thing is not the biggest reason for the Yankees loss, it sure didn't help. As referenced above, two Sox players referred to it and the team played the music as they celebrated. Clearly it WAS an issue...

    Stanton another A-Rod. Another star player that CAN'T get it done when it means the most. When's his contact up? Please lord, I hope they don't re-sign him.
    The Red Sox closer was practically begging to give away the game walking lesser hitters than Stanton! but he struck himself out being overly aggressive chasing bad pitches in the dirt! 🤦‍♂️ That can't happen.
