I've been searching for a good leather wallet tutorial for the past few days. I wanted a couple card holders, and area to store cash. This is literally exactly what I was envisioning. All other instructables and youtube tutorials just didn't have the function I wanted, but this is perfect. I would modify it to fit my personal tastes, like removing the button and editing some stuff. Most other tutorials I could find were super basic card holders without pockets.
Loved your video! No fuss, no filters, just straight to the point! It just goes to show that even with pretty basic tools but good solid skills and a well thought out design, it's possible to achieve a very desirable product! I like how you very modestly described your wallet as "easy DIY"! It still does require excellent leather working techniques to create such a beautiful wallet!
I don't have any tools for leather work nor any interest. Haven't even thought of making a wallet. But I watched the full video and enjoyed every bit. Wonderful work man. Good Job 👌👍
I have this in my watch later videos and come back to it whenever i feel like i need to relax... saw it when it came out and i keep coming back.... u r an inspiration to me. Love ur videos... 👍
you reminded me of one of my friends we went to buy a cup, when we found a store who sells them my friend asked the owner to give him some water to test the cup if it works well , lol
Love the videos! However, I would love to see explanations or little notations of tools being used or methods etc...just a suggestion. :) such satisfying material!
Dude thank you for democratization great this craftsman information. Shit like this on UA-cam gives me such hope! Like knowing how to work with leather use to be such a labor to learn, gatekeeping and whatnot. Thank you for this video!!
Ну вообще сказать, парень молодец, есть чем заняться, не ворует не грабит не насилует не убивает, Мне очень понравился . Я могу сказать здоровый образ жизни , Очень красиво !!! 👍
The tool you are using at 1:29 is not edge beveler. This tool is called a groover and it is used (fe) for making thread flush. You can get better results with a proper beveler. Still a good tutorial. Learned a thing or two, thanks :).
I'm considering to make my own leather wallet, can you please tell me what's the english name of the parts you are using at 3:25? And is this set (including metal pads you are using for hammering those snap buttons) for sale somewhere? Link will be highly appreciated.
I inherited a whole bunch of tools, many are from the 19th century. One looks just like the small “fork” you used to punch in the stitching holes. I have no idea how to sharpen it though (or if I should) I reclaimed several rolls of brown Italian leather from a sofa that was being thrown out and I’d like to make something like a pair of saddlebags for my bicycle out of the leather but I have no experience doing this. Would you make a video showing others how to do this ? I’m a 100% disabled vet and I learn how to do projects here on UA-cam every week. (I can supply all the leather)
My advice would be to do hand stitching on the wallet since you are already putting so much effort into it. I believe it would give it a complete high quality feeling.
Simple... Pero bonita... El cuero a mi parecer es uno de los materiales en mi lista mas nobles para trabajar... Junto con la Plata,Madera y el Acero con una alta calidad al finalizar el trabajo... Pero que requieren de paciencia y dedicacion... Saludos...
@@Arterexius you just get a looooong piece of artificial catgut and you have a needle on either end, then you run the it through the first hole until half of it is on one side, and half on the other. Then just go needle 1 through the next hole, needle 2 through that same hole, and switch, over and over and over. The end.
It is easy, for someone with craft experience. Don't expect a completely beginner to do anything remotely close to this, also the process itself is easy but it might seem difficult because is laborious (which is not the same). I mean is real life is not Minecraft where you put two sticks together and create a fricking pickaxe haha

So much effort which overall is a great looking wallet, however overshadowed by those ugly slots. Would have been better using T-slots and not as time consuming.
