Rob helped me get my CBC license and his approach and velvet voice made things attainable. Thanks Triple A Construction School! Awesome podcast J Lane!
According to psychological studies, in high school and presuming the "C" student is actually intelligent, "A" students tend to be concrete thinkers while "C" students tend to be abstract thinkers. Abstract thinkers are often bored with rote learning. Abstract thinkers > Concrete thinkers. (I'm Rob's IT guy)
Still following your content Jesse. I just started making my own content and realized how hard is it to advance. So I really admire you being persistent with your passion and growing your channel. I think having a consistent content delivery schedule is key. Also trying to tune your content more general, less restricted to the NE Florida region to appeal to a broader audience. Just my thoughts.
Very timely chat for me, since I am currently in the licensing process. Just passed the Business & Finance / Contract Administration last week. Re-taking project management soon and then on to the application. Great chat!
Rob is such a great person! I took classes at AAA construction! Just have my business and finance to pass in April. And Jesse you are doing amazing can’t wait to see the end result of the apartments.
Here we goooo! Knew you had some big things bubbling glad you're taking on this project to continue provide value and knowledge. I'm 10 seconds into the clip already excited hope you're on Spotify so I can download your episodes and put you in the ears while I'm working 💯
Great podcast!! About the college subject, I’m going to college for construction management but I also have a job in construction which is drywall and metal framing, so I have been told not to go to school to become a contractor but I’ve also been told to go to school by others because there more information to learn such as autocad, estimating etc
This did in fact provide a lot of value. I think a 4 year construction management degree is worth it... although that might be because I am currently getting one. It opens up a lot more doors and positions for you instead of just graduating from high school and becoming a laborer or an apprentice. There are certainly pros and cons to both. What did you do when the owners stopped paying deposits... I'm guessing halted work? Or did you pay them as you somewhat alluded to by selling your house?
I am absolutely lost at this point. Loosing everything and grasping at straws. Just came across your channel. Don’t know why it was recommended but they say everything happens for a reason.
What safeguards do you have to protect against client not paying. The only recourse is winning a lawsuit but you can go bankrupt fighting wealthy clients. Then you have to hope they don't go bankrupt and not pay.
Love your videos man, I'm from Southwest Georgia and I'm looking to get into light commercial tenet Improvement. I'm in the early stages of setting up my systems and I was wondering if you could provide a complete list of managment software, spreadsheets, and systems that you would recommend. Also what Financial Management Systems would you recommend? QuickBooks?
Hi Jesse, I am currently finishing up my electrical engineering degree but really want to get into the building industry and start my own business. I have grown up in very near to the industry bc we always subcontracted our own homes. Do you have any advice? I am getting married next year and will need to be able to provide for my wife. Is it realistic for me to start a business in the building industry and be able to support my wife-to-be with it in a year? I know I will be able to support my family with electrical engineering but I honestly don’t like the corporate world and would like to get out of it ASAP. God bless you brother! Thank you for your videos!
