Worked out what I found weird with the artwork. Not only is the blue ‘off’, but nowhere, on any JAWS poster, was the red lettering overlayed on the blue water. It was always above the water on the white area. They have saved space but at the same time bastardised one of the most iconic film artwork posters of all time.
I think the reason the shark is underwhelming compared to JPs T Rex mech is cos they have to have it on the Pro. It wouldn't be Jaws without the shark. But obviously they aren't gonna give you a great and complicated mech on the Pro.
Inventive ball paths and layout. Will be amazing.
Custom code will fix any missing assets. That is the least of the potential issues. An under playfield world would have been cool.
No Brody might as well be no theme. Hard pass.
That's what I said too. Also that looks nothing like The Orca
Agreed about the Orca, I was expecting a bit more sculpting. The mod makers will create something for that.
@GonzosPinballFlipperama exactly, I was like is that the boat from The Sopranos?
@@GonzosPinballFlipperama it looks cheap af
He's there on video and audio- just not in image. His biggest line is in the trailer!
I feel jaws is a huge character movie with a shark in it. The mayor. The orca captain. The scientist. The sheriff. The grieving mother. Where are they all on that playfield? I would have loved to have seen characters on this game like the Godfather, Sopranos, big Lebowski, etc….
Think back to the future! That machine is plagued with negativity because there’s no Michael j Fox. Alien was dogged without Sigourney weaver. They fixed it though. This? Could be detrimental to the design. 🤔
Really great point. There is a build up to the final shark hunt throughout the whole first half of the film. With lots of memorable scenes, quotes, and opportunities.
The boat is basically a modded Sopranos boat
Yep, definitely similarities . . . Didn't need two boats imo. Just the Orca done properly would have been good.
@@GonzosPinballFlipperama absolutely 💯
If this is the LE the Pro is about to be worse than Venom pro.
fyi 10750 quid is $21800 NZD. our premiums are a bit under $19k nzd nowdays.
Just got a STH premium it’s epic - yes tough tho
it looks pretty good but if it doesn't have all the original voice actors not sure about this one
'Those people that only buy one machine every couple of years aren't buying anymore '. Exactly right. Good listen mate, hope youre well
Hey Andy mate, all good here thanks buddy. Hope all is good with you.
Great analysis gents. Of course I could be totally wrong but if there was a big wow moment I believe it would absolutely be in that LE trailer.
Fair point mate
@@GonzosPinballFlipperama But I hope I'm wrong and you're right! That shark is screaming to interact with the ball somehow (other than just a bash toy). I just worry that would have been showcased in this footage. Maybe Stern did leak this but they cut that part out so we have a surprise tomorrow 🤞🤞
Happy New Year 🎆 🎊
Happy new year to you too Charles
Pinball fx has a different original version of jaws pinball Robert shaws character is very front and center. Also that version does have an actual fin drop target
Interesting to know. Robert Shaw is a pivotal character in the movie, probably strong enough to carry a Jaws theme a long way. Still needs a Richard Drayfuss and Roy Scheivder though.
The art on this jaws looks like a metallic shine or mirror shine almost? Maybe the other versions have a plane blue and black art with red lettering.
I really love the theme but i expected a little more toys. Little disappointed tbh. But maybe the gameplay makes up for it.
I’m not saying I could get the physics right for this but the barrels as some kind of floating/moving pop bumpers? Man that would have been cool and innovative…
Agreed
just a thought here, and probably not possible, but have the 3 pops/barrels on a platter that rotates at pf level..well, it would be different, but probably not practical with wiring harnesses etc..maybe in a Theater of Magic 2, lol.
I hope all this leaked footage is bogus and tomorrow they come out with the real thing with actual artwork of the characters and no chum bucket. I want the swimming girl in the beginning
the official reveal is coming tuesday
Jaws is just a bash toy. It will not eat balls and you won’t be able to shoot balls into them. Sorry but this is a big let down. Been a fan of the franchise since I was 4 when the movie came out.
Should have had the orca like the Flying Dutchman in Sterns POTC. After you sink it then the jaws mech pops up and you are Brody, you have to shoot pinballs into his mouth like Stranger Things Demagorgan trying to shoot the scuba tank in his mouth.
May get a used premium if I like how it plays. But pass as of now. I just ordered Spooky’s new Scooby Doo topper.
That topper looks cool
"Good for a nine- year- old"??? What are you on about? You having a laugh?
Your daughter is a BALLER. Good on her!
Big no greets from belgium
The little boat with the shark hiding underneath it, the steering wheel is on the wrong side. Boats are driven, like English cars, on the RIGHT side of the vehicle. Oops!
i THINK YOU ARE HOPING IT WILL BE BETTER FROM WHAT YOU ARE SAYING,IF NOTIT WILL BE A EPIC FAILON ONE OF THE BIGGEST TITLES. AT LEAST ITS NOT ANOTHER COMIC BOOK KID GAME
All Meh about it… not impressed, but then again how do you follow a game like Godzilla. I believe that the pro will be missing many things and replaced with plastic stand ups. The artwork is no JJP but LE will be at a similar price as to a platinum of EJ. No comparison
I think the premium and up will be the best. I’m kind of thinking that the pro won’t be as good without the upper playfield and if there is no rising shark mech. I think the theme will flow nicely as long as the person playing is in the role of Chef Brody since his assets appear to be absent. Outside of that I think there are a lot of fun little aspects and like every game recently, it will get better over time with code updates. I know I’m commenting without watching, going to watch in a bit.
The upper “playfield” looks like a gimmick to the extreme. Tiny with literally one shot and nothing else. Crammed in poorly.
Pro will most likely be the way to go on this one imo - will probably have the best art also
@@JohnSmith78098 fair point, I am patiently waiting to see the game features video for further explanation.
Having had a few good looks at some of the leaked content. I’ll say it now; a massive flop.
Can’t imagine a single mech or feature can rescue this from the abyss.
Would you say the chances of this succeeding are fin? 😂
@@Mark_733 la chance est peu probable.
The model of the shark popping up looks average. They need to make it look more like the shark in the movie, as the model 'Bruce' had a certain look.
Loony Toons > Jaws
Another Pocket saver for me. Maybe they will do the 3 price points as 6-8-10k to save the sales. Even at 10k I am not a fan. Looks so chintzy. Art is awful. WOW.
Agreed. Let the stern fanboys eat this.
JJP can take a theme I have zero interest in and wow me (Elton John) and Stern takes a theme I would love (Jaws) and on first look underwhelms me.
Venom was too sparse. And honestly, the Marvel pins are getting old.
Better ask Spencer if he has seen the movie as he hasn’t seen Back to the Future…. don’t be admitting that buddy. 😅 lose respect in an instant.
I'm sure he's seen Jaws Jackie . . . to be fair to Spencer he has seen BTTF . . . he just waited 40 years 😉
Don’t worry, big fan of Jaws, the movie. Must have seen it 100 times. Can quote it by heart. Back to the future was just one of those films I missed because I wasn’t in the right place at the right time. Seen it now though.
I’m pretty impressed you remembered! Hope you are enjoying the channel. 😊
@@GonzosPinballFlipperama good to here Gonzo. Better late than never. I’m in Brisbane. Tell Spencer to head to Pinball Haus in the valley (cbd) ask for Babak and he will show you some pretty machines. Cheers boys.
@@SpencerPlanton Just a wind up Spencer. I knew you would make it your business to watch it eventually. Go see Babak at Pinball Haus tomorrow. Baxter St Fortitude Valley. I did a full restore on TOM he bought from me. Keen to know your thoughts on it. Cheers. Enjoy Brissie. Hot day tomorrow it seems….JR
@@johnreardon755 Cheeky! Thanks for the tip. Will check it out tomorrow when I’ve got a good dose of Repellex on board. 🤣
got to be some piss taking by stern surely.. this can't be it. its got to be a joke to mess with all the 'leakers' out there. please.... 🤣🤣
I did wonder about that Jim . . . there has to be more to come mate.
Youc guys complain a lot... Be happy we have a new pinball to play with!
This mindset doesn’t apply to 13,000 dollar products.
@@JohnSmith78098 the LE here in the uk is just under £16000 to put that into perspective it’s half a years salary for a large part of the population, it’s massive money so should be something truly special
@yan2987 This is not the official Stern channel my friend. I'm sure everything on their site is 100% positive.
For the moment we'll reserve judgement until we play it . . . which is really the correct thing to do.
Some people enjoys complaining about other people hard work. It’s not like they are not trying to make great pinballs. I am sure it will be a fun pinball.
The theme already is a pass
The art is blunt
And ppl pay 13k + taxes and still have to buy third party mods
I think you'll have to get the mods to make it look authentic.
@@GonzosPinballFlipperama Sure…it’s expensive!
I’m sure however the game plays great, wouldn’t mind try it out
The Aussie doesn't know what he's talking about half the time. Looks like one of those new guys who buys all the recent sterns and has no clue.
Try not to troll please John, always good to attempt to be polite.
Perhaps mention the particular part you thought was inaccurate and discus it.
I’ve played pinballs all my life. Only been collecting short time yes. But I buy other games also. I have data east games and Bally games also. I love the hobby and am a novice sorry. Not sure why that offends you John. - Enzo
Ps aren’t you Aussie either 😊
But please if I have said something that’s not right I am happy to be corrected and taught mate. I genuinely love the hobby and learning every day. We all friends. Aren’t we?
If you make the fin target fin shaped, you would get ball hops from hell. It looks like there is a mechanical thing around that fin that could rise in the playfield. Why is it a big insert with screws if not?
So they can remove it for the pro I suppose.
@@DaveTheTrain I think it is actually because it's a plastic insert with lamps underneath that will light up red & bloody when you hit the sharkfin.
So far, and we haven't seen a lot but the Future Pinball table by Terry Red looks better (it's a free table so it may have even more assest. I get that means as far as that goes its not apples to apples since stern has to abide by what the license allows) but the stern game looks kinda underwhelming but as usual, i will wait to play it too see how it actually is.
Thanks again for the videos. You didn't drag your feet on this one....kudos mate
Here is a link to Terry Reds table for you to see.....ua-cam.com/video/OCOqLARj18E/v-deo.htmlsi=ACbQnRutP4_VnIPa
