Thanks Steve. I generally approach repairs with the attitude of what is easiest for me. LOL So sometimes a little bit of clever engineering is required. :)
Thanks Doug for videoing the repairs on these cool radios. You’re fortunate to have an AM oldies station in your area. We have zip where I live. We used to have really good AM stations but, they converted to FM and web only.
Thanks. Yeah our local station here just recently made the switch. They were just a pop station before I believe. I suppose things change, they always have, but I can say I'm mostly happy living in the time I live in. Lot's that interest me and so keeping busy and my mind active is not a big problem for me. :)
Thanks Leo. The squeal was caused by the speaker lead being very close to the couplet, which has inside the audio coupling capacitor. Just simple feedback. :)
Thanks Gregg. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the Westinghouse performed. I plan to take that one to a remote location to do the battery ac converter experiments. :)
Yesterday or the day before yesterday, I can't remember. I lost my list of notes and when I found them I couldn't remember why I wanted them. Probably a chore I needed to do. Hope all is well over there in between the east and west coast. Happy Radio ing.
Thanks Marty. I have much the same problems remembering, but I try to keep on keeping on. LOL Things are good here, hope they are there as well. Good to hear from you as always. :)
Always enjoy your video repair work on radios Doug. Clever solutions to some of their problems.

Nice job! That squeal in the speaker is very interesting. Love to learn more! Have a wonderful trip. Leo

Nice work Doug. It is still fun when they start working again!
Thanks Rick. Yes indeed. I have more plans for the Westinghouse to see how well it can pick up out in the wild. :)
I learned something today didn't know that knot was called a UL knot. I like the 3D tube for the filter caps.
Thanks Jim. You know me, I love printing useful items with the 3D printer. :)
Really nice job on those radios Doug, they sounded really good. Have safe travels on your trip!

Seymour Indiana, the Radio Capitol of America! 👍👍
Thanks Bob. I don't know about that, but for sure a lot of Arvin radios were made in nearby Columbus, Indiana. :)
