Just got this to use with young people i work with and it's a hit! My wife also loved this one when we test drive it together. Simple rules that are easy to follow and great illustration make it a fab buy folks!
Played this a few months ago, now bought it for 20 bucks on amazon. Worth it.
Love the game too, wondering what your thoughts are about the expansion, cause our game taste is pretty much the same.
This game is pretty original
FYI insects have six legs, spiders eight. The meanies pictured are more likely scarab beetles.
We found a few more pixies but not all of them, they are hard to find hehe
This game has been out for AGES... meant to be great for kids but adults like it I heard... one good thing is that it is multi-language so you get English if you are in a Spanish country and vice-versa ! yay !

I have played hundreds of games. No game got more tiresome than Loony Quest. First play was good. Second was okay. After that it was totally insipid. Don't buy this game unless you have children!
Still a hit on my table after 5 games. Without kids. And we've played hundreds of games too... So there.
I had the same experience. Low replayability due to doing basically the same thing over and over again.
