Merry Christmas Tom & Holly and Elf family. Thank You for sharing all your gifts, I enjoyed Christmas through you. Emerson, what a Handsome young man you are, very talented! ❤🤗🥰
Good morning and happy Christmas Eve to those who celebrate, and I hope you all had a fine Christmas Adam yesterday. Holly, I am sorry for the loss of your friend. Even though you hadn't seen him in a long time, I'm sure it was still a sad & difficult piece of news to receive. The elf asks if we change up the tree decorations from year to year, or keep them the same. Well, elf, we have a very tiny artificial tree, and when the holiday is over we put it back in the closet with all the decorations still on it, so yeah definitely keep it the same! This year we did things a little differently though, as we found a much taller tree on sale & are using that one instead of the little one. We're using our normal topper - a lovely cardinal - and bought all new baubles for it so it's covered in red & silver garlands and coppery balls instead of the usual Dr Seuss & little animals. Looks like the advent-year ended on a high note. The two best items from this video are, of course, the rolling cart from Soft Squares and the travel mats from Missouri Star. I actually have one of those carts as well (in the elf's favorite color - teal) and would love to have another one. It's in the bedroom under the TV, and I deliberately mounted the top basket upside down. This gives me a flat area with no sides, perfect for holding the DVD player with room for the tray to open all the way. I'm not going to rate these last two days, but rather give my final thoughts on the boxes overall (as if anyone cares about what I think, LOL). I added all the scores I've given & divided by the number of days, then noodged it up or down a bit based on if I think it's worth the price. Missouri Star - averaged 3.8, rounded up to 4/5. For me personally there were a few clunkers, but that's only because I don't really do a lot of quilting and this is definitely a quilter-centric box. Worth the price if you are their target audience. Soft Squares B - averaged 3.52, rounded down to 3/5. They were all over the place ratings-wise, and taking into consideration the average price per day ($325/25 = $13 per box) I just don't think it's worth the money, even though it had some very nice items. Stitch Supply - averaged 3.4, rounded up to 4/5. It got off to a slow start, but generally improved in the middle there. The reasonable price is what got this rounded up to a full four rather than three & a half. Although - they could have put Day 25 on top since it was flat, or put a pocket on the inside lid to keep it in so you didn't have to take out all the other boxes to get to it. Just saying... Creekside - averaged 2.68, rounded to 2.75/5. Just not my style at all, and the low price does not make up for it. Open Gate - averaged 3.25, no rounding so that's 3.25/5. I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't think it's worth the price. $269 (plus shipping!!) divided by 12 days gives us an average of $22/day value-wise, and I'm sorry, I just don't see it. While some definitely hit that mark - the fabrics for the holiday quilt, for example - some of them didn't come close (a single Frixion pen? Really?) Soft Squares A - averaged 3.6, call it 3.75/5 as the price isn't bad. It also had my favorite piece of fabric in the bunch (I *think* Santa is bringing me some, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up) so maybe I should bump that up to four out of five... Cotton Cuts - averaged 2.07, rounded down to 2/5. Even at $130, this is a real stinkeroo in my opinion, with literally half the items only getting a one out of five, and only two getting full marks. Really disappointed with them on this one. Bella Rose - averaged 3.5, but there was a *lot* of fabric so let's call it 4/5. They started out strong and then sort of petered into Mehville by the end. Is it worth $200 plus shipping? (::infomercial voice:: Now how much would you pay?) The value certainly doesn't *exceed* the cost, but I'm not certain that it meets it. And so comes the last day of my favorite things. For Day 24, it's going to a really good arboretum. Seeing all the flowers & trees, especially if there are little signs saying what kind they are, is always both fun and relaxing. Some of them are so creative, too! I went to one once that had a little succulent garden that looked exactly like a coral reef. Wish I still had a picture of it... And for Day 25, I've saved the best for last: spending time with my partner & our dogs. Whether it's going on a day trip, or out camping, or just staying home, they're my favorite place to be, my favorite folks to be with. Wishing everyone who celebrates a very Merry Christmas, a happy Chanukah, a joyous Kwanzaa, or even just an excellent Tuesday.
Merry Christmas to all. Thank you Holly and Eld for a fun advent. I got a letter this year from Santa at North Ple, AK, and he said I was at the top of his good list, so I put that letter on the door of my work office. I met Santa when I worked up in Alaska, so it was nice to hear from him. Elf, he likes you too. He can’t do without his team! I loved the Lego sewing machines. How nice to have an expert engineer to assemble those for you. How sweet of him to share. All blessings to this community of very kind people. I usually watch the videos from Holly at the beginning of my day, and it’s special to see such kind and gracious comments and wishes amount this community. As we celebrate our season at church tonight, we are most thankful for THE greatest gift of all which was wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in a manger. Merry Christmas and Happy Holy-day to all.
I have really enjoyed watching the advent openings. I know it is time consuming, but you do a great job. I truly loved your channel opening scenes every day too. So cute!! I hope you and your family have a great holiday. Take care.
I liked the Advent quilt idea! That sounds enjoyable. Your Grandson did a beautiful job on the lego sewingn macines they are adorable. Hope you have a Merry Christmas! See you next video.
Happy birthday to you and Tom! Merry Christmas! Happy Anniversary! (We celebrate 40 years on Dec 29.) Happy New Year! We moved less than two weeks ago so this holiday season is a bit of a whirlwind. There are still boxes all over and some stuff hasn’t been moved. We are trying to focus on being with those we love and ignoring what hasn’t happened.
I’m sorry for the loss of your friend. It’s hard when friends get divided up by divorce. On the bright side, you and the elf did an outstanding job with the boxes this year. I have loved living vicariously through you. Merry Christmas!
I've gotten Carolina Moore's advents and calendars since she started making them 3 years ago - they've gotten better every years. The yearly BOM calendar is separate from the advent. Each year the templates have been a different color. The advent started off 2021 as 12 days with a pattern and template for each day; 2022 & 2023 she offered 12 days with patterns & templates and an additional 12 days of patterns could be purchased; 2024 she offered 12 days with patterns & templates and an additional 12 days of patterns with three extra templates. The blocks are mostly 6" since they are "mini" advents. However, I made extra blocks and made mine queen size when I added borders. I've been trying to talk her into making 12" patterns and templates (again, for ME) but she said that the cost would be to high and she wants to keep the cost down so more people can purchase and join in the fun. FYI - invest in some of those sticky dots and put them on every corner of the templates. It will make the project much much much more enjoyable because they are small templates and will slide. Once I put the dots on them I had no problems - if you are on her site she does offer them as an add-on. Since Carolina designs and is an Art Gallery Fabric ambassador she also offers kits of the fabrics. She does like to fussy cut - fussy cut queen along with Tula! As for the yearly calendar - I did my first year blocks in Alison Glass Art Theory, yes, the blocks are MAGNIFICENT! Okay, so here's what I did (cause OCD is real in my head): First I decide what fabric to use, then I read through each pattern and make a sheet of what cuts are needed for each month, next I cut up the fabrics and put them in the pages of the month so I can sew-a-long with Carolina when she shows the tutorial...NOW, have I managed to do them all with her? Of course not, I start a month and then do at least one or two more. I need to put them all together instead of just stacking them up but that's another issue. The calendar patterns are bigger than the advent patterns and the 2025 blocks are HST's. Last years blocks were 9-patch.
Hi Holly! I know I said I would send an ornament, but it's going to be a bit late. My husband took a job in Alabama, so we'll be moving in a few weeks. My sewing room is in boxes. I promise I didn't forget! Merry Christmas! 🎄❤️🎄
Good Christmas Eve Morning Holly! ♥️☕️💚 I have so enjoyed you and the opening of the advent boxes, I do realize it has been a lot for you to keep going! I am also thrilled you have The Elf!!! 🥰 Thank you Elf!! I must tell you, I am not a fan of just plain white either, I would rather a tone on tone white or a low volume, or a grunge type white. I know it is background, but it can still have some life and interest in it. (Just my opinion 😅🤪) Ohhhh, that travel folio, awesome!!! And the cart, 🎉🎉🎉!! HOLLY, my cat has not dragged in such an awesome soul with so much joy in her heart! OHHHH Emerson, you are a Lego professional, great job, and thank you for bringing life to them!! 👏🤗. Thank you again Holly, I pray you and your sweet family enjoy these special times, whatever day you come together! Love you, bye! ☃️
Ms. Holly, just a note that Carolina Moore’s advent had two parts, the first part is 12 days and she offered a bonus advert for an additional 12 days. So you may have both parts. Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas Holly to you and yours and a happy and healthy New Year. I was watching you as I was making my pies. Two pleasures at once❤️we are finally getting some snow today.
Holly , my holiday wish for you is that you can always feel the reason for the season that we celebrate. It's such a warm loving time of year and yes it can be lonely but I live alone and I'm not lonely at all. May you always feel the fullness of love that your wishes send your way. Stay warm, be safe and may you always be blessed.❤
Holly! Looking marvelous dahlink! I'm taking care of myself by keeping to myself - so many cooties out there. We are going to see the Bob Dylan movie tonight and the Nosferatu movie on Christmas day. So, I've been up since 2am, made banana and banana nut bread, started the crock pot with ham & beans, I'll go get a bag of hush puppies from Long John Silver's when they open, and I need to make a potato casserole THEN I can either sew or read! Got my time planned out - I could get around to decorating the outside tree, maybe, not high on my priority list. As long as I have it decorated by spring I'm okay...gives me joy to see the ornaments when the tree has leaves. Oh, I'm sorry to hear about your friend - I've been having some awesome dreams about different friends that have passed and it makes me feel like I got another chance to tell them how much I miss and loved them. Of course when Dave asked me what I was laughing about in my sleep and who I was talking too, then I started crying. He named some people and I just shook my head yes. This has been a great series of opening the boxes (for me). Next year open the entire advent each day! OR, open up every advent the day you receive it!!! That's my solution, again, making it all about me. What is this you speak of that if it goes up it must come down? That's devils speak woman! NOOOO! It should stay up all year for my viewing pleasure and ornaments can be changed out with the season or holiday...or just added to the Christmas ones! MSQC - so I guess those patterns match the dishes? What about placemats or an ironing board cover? I guess it could be to bulky for an ironing board cover unless it was for a removable cover?
❤❤❤ This has been fun. I have to say the Elf has made this so much fun Holly I love how you and the Elf work together. Holly you are so very special. Any day can be Christmas. Think of our soldiers. If you have a roof over head. Food to eat and warmth in your heart, you are truly blessed. The only way you fail is not to get up. Today is a new dayl. MERRY Christmas to all of you. Seeing love and hugs and prayers.
Wow Miss Holly! What a fun adventure with the advent openings. My favorite was stitch supply, the illustrations on the box - way adorable 🥰! Great items too. Thank you so much for sharing your time and friendship with us! Wishing love, light and blessings on everyone ❤hugs!
Thanks to you and the elf for a wonderful advent season and box opening!! There is so much planning and preparation to bring these to us, and it is appreciated! I definitely have my favorites! I picked a favorite each from the 12 day and 25 day boxes. I'll be interested to see what you and the elf think. Have a wonderful holiday week!🌲❤️
Merry Christmas, Holly, to you and your husband. Sending Light and Love to Everyone. Tomorrow will basically just be another day here for me and my grandson, We don't get together with any other family - it's just the two of us. He will be 30 in January. We have our tall, skinny tree up - well, it's been up since 2021, We have decided to never take it down. So again, Everyone, I hope you all have a wonderful, joyful and loving Christmas. 🌲❤🌲
Have a very Merry Christmas, Holly. Thanks for sharing all of the adventures boxes. I always look forward to your videos. Emerson did a great job with the legos! Enjoy your holidays! Ho! Ho! Ho! Great job!
The most surprising thing in any of the boxes was the craft cart in Soft Squares' last box - because who would ever expect THAT in an advent box? I am glad to add a second craft cart to my sewing space. I would like to add one more just to display all my jelly rolls and make them easy to reach when I need one. Thanks again for a wonderful series of videos.
Yay! So fun! Thank you Holly and Elf. I know that was a stretch…soo much to do at the holidays AND you have birthdays in the mix too. All I can say is that it was my special, fun place watching these videos each morning. It was the thing I did for me. I know it was a lot for you. You looked beautiful today btw….hope you had something else fun to do. But all I can say is that it was a wonderful, wonderful gift to me. Hitting the golden buzzer for Holly and the Elf for me. Ho-Ho-Ho! Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas! Thank you for all of your hard work putting together these videos. I was unable to purchase any advents this year so I was pleased to be able to see what was in all of them. Take a well earned break and we will see you in your next video.
You are a ray of sunshine in our lives. Thank you for all the work you put into this advent season. much appreciated. Take care and have a wonderful Christmas and a happy birthday. Love and best wishes to you and yours.
Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday, Holly! Thanks for all the hard work you do with these opening videos! ❤️❤️❤️ Pat Sloan calls her cart her assistant-what a great item!
Fitst off you are such a blessing! Great job Emerson! Happy Birthday, Holly, and Happy Anniversary to you and Tom! Thank you for sharing your time with us and these advents too. It has been wonderful to watch the videos daily. Enjoy your holidays with family! Also, a great big thank you to the elf. She also added so much fun to our advent days! Merry Christmas to you all!
Thanks for all your hard work this whole month, Holly. I got a cruddy cold 4 days ago with cough, blowing nose, and no appetite. Take care, you are so special to us.
I have thoroughly enjoyed watching the advent boxes so thank you, Holly, for all the work you put in presenting them. Emerson is a natural tv presenter, he did really well. I wish you, husband, Dandelion and family have a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
Thank you Holly and Elf for giving me a festive way to begin my day this season. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and hoping you can take some time for a little rest and recuperation after all the work of presenting us with these Advent boxes.
Thank you for a great Advent season, I enjoyed all your videos and the Elf’s comments. Wishing you and your family the merriest of holidays. Love your red crown today!
Merry Christmas Holly 🎄I hope you have some time to rest and take care of yourself. You have been so wonderful sharing your time and adventure boxes with us. I know it has been a lot of work for you to do this for all of us and I want you to know happy it has made me to watch you open them. Have a wonderful birthday and I’ll be watching you after the holidays. ❤
What a joy it’s been to join you on this advent box journey. Thank you! And you have no idea how much I appreciate your honesty about your tree-I am alone and didn’t have the energy or the time to decorate but I love how the lights illuminate my living room at night. Thanks for the validation. 🥰 Merry Christmas to you and yours! 🎅🏼🎄

Holly thank you soo much for sharing with us all the boxes. Will you be ordering all these boxes next year? The zippered pouch that you showed at the end which company sent? I didn't hear you say. Have a wonderful restful holiday. Hugs Judy
We will not be getting every box we reviewed this year. The only two I can tell you for sure is Open Gate and Bella Rose. Hope someone new comes along!
I got Carolina’s advent and hated the fabric and the lack of any good blocks. For me it was a Dud and I Will re gift this To a very beginning quilter I was okay with rest. I am getting only a box From soft squares next year n box was expensive and I didn’t see the value in it. It was ok. Maybe I am just a quilt snob. Sorry. Merry Christmas to you and yours may the Lord Bless and Keep you always
They are press on nails by the company Static Nails. You can choose your shape and length. They usually last almost 2 weeks and soak off in soapy water.
Merry Christmas Tom & Holly and Elf family. Thank You for sharing all your gifts, I enjoyed Christmas through you. Emerson, what a Handsome young man you are, very talented! ❤🤗🥰
Merry Christmas Holly. Thank you beyond measures for doing this year's advent boxes, May the New Year bring you Peace and comfort.

Merry Christmas! I have enjoyed your openings so very much. I had a friend pass last week also. I received the cart in black. No tools needed.
Wonderful series, Holly. Enjoyed every day.
I leave my tree up and leave it up year round. I just remove the bulbs. I leave the lights. When feeling sad I turn it on.
I have really enjoyed watching the advent openings. I know it is time consuming, but you do a great job. I truly loved your channel opening scenes every day too. So cute!! I hope you and your family have a great holiday. Take care.

I also got the 25 days from Carolina Moore. The quilt is sooooo cute and easy to out together.
The calendar is a block of the month. Different than the advent kit.
Holly, you and the Elf did a wonderful job🎄 Thank you for all you do!
Merry Christmas! I have enjoyed your openings so very much. I had a friend pass last week also.
I’m with Pat Vezino, give yourself and your wonderful elf a Ho Ho Ho from this Wish, too. ❤
Merry Christmas Holly.
Have a very Happy Christmas!

Ho! Ho! Ho! Great job!
MERRY CHRISTMAS HOLLY, have a wonderful holiday.
Ho-Ho-Ho! Merry Christmas!

xo
I have enjoyed you opening up the advents. I have been ill and it has helped me get through the day. PS is the second bag days 13-24?
Love your nails ❤
The advent calendar is my favorite ❤
Holly thank you soo much for sharing with us all the boxes. Will you be ordering all these boxes next year? The zippered pouch that you showed at the end which company sent? I didn't hear you say. Have a wonderful restful holiday. Hugs Judy
The zippered pouch at the end was Carolina Moore.
We will not be getting every box we reviewed this year. The only two I can tell you for sure is Open Gate and Bella Rose. Hope someone new comes along!
I got Carolina’s advent and hated the fabric and the lack of any good blocks. For me it was a
Dud and
I
Will re gift this
To a very beginning quilter
I was okay with rest. I am getting only a box
From soft squares next year n box was expensive and I didn’t see the value in it. It was ok.
Maybe I am just a quilt snob. Sorry.
Merry Christmas to you and yours may the Lord
Bless and
Keep you always
You look great HOLLY!❤
Your fingernails are so beautiful. May I ask what polish you use?
They are press on nails by the company Static Nails. You can choose your shape and length. They usually last almost 2 weeks and soak off in soapy water.
@@DandelionStitches , thank you so much!
Merry Christmas Holly to you and yours!!!!
