I think Thespio has a great voice for an older spike: raspy, guttural, and quite male. Pitch shifting the show never quite gets it right, but this is very good. It shall be the voice I use in my head when reading fics from now on.

They actually hinted at flutturshy wanted to marry discord in the episode were she and angle swapped bodies and even further in the final song of g4 were it showed fluttershy and discord together. That's not even to mention 4.5 pony tales sure that wasn't cannon to the main well cannon but that show was the perfect excuse to do what they wanted with the characters and flutter shy was smitten with discord in that, by Design.
Whenever a fandub appears, I'm afraid that it might get cringy to hear to, so I mostly avoid them. I was especially afraid of this one, since it's one of my favourite pieces and in the romance genre, but WOW, THAT was some fantastic voiceacting! Both off you were completely in character and every word sounded really sincere and real.

Emotion like that is what chains me to the wall with stories and a battery charger. It's like the pure CONTEMPT in The Mariner's Revenge. I would go on a rampage, a heist spree and probably hire out as an assasin if I could just get a bottle of that THRILL in the moment when realization sets in for just how REAL everything just got. As it stands I read as many fanfics as I can get my hands on in hopes of another hit. I do alright, but I read A LOT.
It was adorable watching them bumble around each other like teenagers. It felt very organic and flowed very well. I got a little worried when Rarity was stating her change of heart. I started to feel like things were going too fast. Then I remembered that she is actually pretty long in the tooth, so that changes the dynamic. That, and the scenes after that completely cover for any issues. Great job.

I agree that his canon appearance isnt great. but thats not the point of his looking like that. The point is its HIS ideal form from when he was little. Its pretty much the same look he gave himself in the tantabus dream episode and im sure others where he fantasized. The reason was to show you can become the person you want to be.

Wow, I really appreciate this! The message it gives is really deep! If you truly love someone, love them so much, that you would never stop caring about them, if you are patient and persistent (and probably a bit lucky too), even though your special someone doesn't love you back, you may still have a chance, because times and people change. The way people would see you in your current state wouldn't necessarily be the way they would see you, say in ten years time. After all that time, their opinion of you may change. Then, you may have a chance to build a relationship with them, based off of the new things in your lives, possibly even through re-evaluation of old events! It isn't guaranteed, but if you take the chance and succeed, I couldn't imagine anything happier than finally getting together with someone you held dear for so long, after all the hardship and pain it took to get there. The feeling is indescribable! This comic really puts that into perspective! After years (supposedly) of not seeing her, Spike visits Rarity with only one purpose, to confess his love for her. Despite her not sharing his feelings in the past (perhaps also because she took him for granted, though that's disputable) and the way HE changed, It only took something as simple as a talk and a gift from the past to change everything! Sometimes, deep down you may love someone, and not even realize, that you do! But given a few things here and there, may just bring to light things you haven't even considered before, and then you realize, that the person you considered only a friend, was right there in front of you! It may be awkward at first, as was shown here with Spike and Rares, but growing fond of each other over time, that is a beautiful relationship! I love My Little Pony, it gave me something I didn't even know I was missing! I've been going through a lot these days and re-discovering the show gave me the positivity, that I needed to push on! At the time of this comment this was probably the 22nd time I watched this video and if I'm going to be honest with myself I'll probably watch this a few hundred more times. This is the video that made me sub to you. Everything seems to go right in this. The voice acting. The music. The art style especially really adds to it. I love this video and everything about it. Its cute and I'm a hopeless romantic. Reminds me of the time I finally managed to confess to my feelings (obvious though they may be) to my love. Also helps that I'm a huge spike fan and that this is a long time coming.

i like the depiction of spike/rarity in this comic fic. it acknowledges that rarity would obviously feel weird about spike's feelings. it shows that rarity has never held interest for spike like that (showing that she's not a weirdo creep). it shows spike is aware rarity has never felt that way about him. it shows the species and age difference. it so real about all these topics and handles it well. i always felt weird about spike/rarity, but in this light it actually seems plausible.
Huh, quite interesting to discover a sub maker on such video, but then again, your first subs are about MLP so it's understandable. Such a shame the show turned Spike mostly into a joke and a tool despite some of his episodes actually being really good.

I agree that his canon appearance isnt great. but thats not the point of his looking like that. The point is its HIS ideal form from when he was little. Its pretty much the same look he gave himself in the tantabus dream episode and im sure others where he fantasized. The reason was to show you can become the person you want to be.

Also, I could easly have seen beefcake Spike in this story without any changes.

Wow, I really appreciate this! The message it gives is really deep! If you truly love someone, love them so much, that you would never stop caring about them, if you are patient and persistent (and probably a bit lucky too), even though your special someone doesn't love you back, you may still have a chance, because times and people change. The way people would see you in your current state wouldn't necessarily be the way they would see you, say in ten years time. After all that time, their opinion of you may change. Then, you may have a chance to build a relationship with them, based off of the new things in your lives, possibly even through re-evaluation of old events! It isn't guaranteed, but if you take the chance and succeed, I couldn't imagine anything happier than finally getting together with someone you held dear for so long, after all the hardship and pain it took to get there. The feeling is indescribable!
This comic really puts that into perspective! After years (supposedly) of not seeing her, Spike visits Rarity with only one purpose, to confess his love for her. Despite her not sharing his feelings in the past (perhaps also because she took him for granted, though that's disputable) and the way HE changed, It only took something as simple as a talk and a gift from the past to change everything! Sometimes, deep down you may love someone, and not even realize, that you do! But given a few things here and there, may just bring to light things you haven't even considered before, and then you realize, that the person you considered only a friend, was right there in front of you! It may be awkward at first, as was shown here with Spike and Rares, but growing fond of each other over time, that is a beautiful relationship!
I love My Little Pony, it gave me something I didn't even know I was missing! I've been going through a lot these days and re-discovering the show gave me the positivity, that I needed to push on! At the time of this comment this was probably the 22nd time I watched this video and if I'm going to be honest with myself I'll probably watch this a few hundred more times. This is the video that made me sub to you. Everything seems to go right in this. The voice acting. The music. The art style especially really adds to it. I love this video and everything about it. Its cute and I'm a hopeless romantic. Reminds me of the time I finally managed to confess to my feelings (obvious though they may be) to my love. Also helps that I'm a huge spike fan and that this is a long time coming.
I am so glad to see fellow fans of this ship, and this animation as well. It's almost too perfect to the point if the actual show were to make Sparity canon, I cannot see how they can surpass this one! It's even close to the length of an actual episode! Come on Hasbro/DHX whoever's in charge, just make this canon! XD
i like the depiction of spike/rarity in this comic fic. it acknowledges that rarity would obviously feel weird about spike's feelings. it shows that rarity has never held interest for spike like that (showing that she's not a weirdo creep). it shows spike is aware rarity has never felt that way about him. it shows the species and age difference. it so real about all these topics and handles it well. i always felt weird about spike/rarity, but in this light it actually seems plausible.
Huh, quite interesting to discover a sub maker on such video, but then again, your first subs are about MLP so it's understandable.
Such a shame the show turned Spike mostly into a joke and a tool despite some of his episodes actually being really good.
This comic was drawn by the developer of Helltaker, VanRipper. This was before he made Helltaker. He also wrote Mosquito Season which in ways is a spiritual predecessor to Helltaker. I had no idea that he was a brony at some point.
