It’s not always a woman, a daughter and as wife has to leave to earn because she wants to. I give my case : after masters I got teaching job and I paid off my parents house not because I wanted; yes my heart is big , just to release my father from mortgage and Allah raised me like that to help others. Then I got married to an army officer. A super husband with him have one son who is now 35 years old. We were in Germany for a year. My father in law wanted money, my husband said that he always send but he spends and doesn’t pay the loan off. Don’t send him just listen to him quietly. I saved that money and we came back to pakistan. Lived in Germany for more than a year. I gave him the advice not to give him but go with him and pay off himself. He did so. Then he was selected for command and staff college and just in 10 days in science term he passed away due to sudden heart attack. Then I came back to Islamabad joined the university to raise my kid, my kid was at that time 1year and a half. 14 years widow taking care of my parents and and kid. 2jobs. Very difficult. After 14 years of widowhood got married, another super husband but I can’t say as step father tried hard to meet both ends together but not possible. He became then heart patient and cancer patient then passed away in 2019. My son is RFE but he didn’t get a complete mother and father too. I got married because my son wanted to have a father figure. But mother alone can’t fulfill every corner of children life. My husband was my Libas and he used to say : high up Allah and on earth is you my wife. My step children respect me a lot.
This sounds really difficult as to what you have gone through to raise your children. It is charity what you spend on your family. I don’t know how you came to terms with so much grief and hardship. May Allah Accept your struggles and Bestow you with the highest reward. Ameen. May Allah Grant all of us ease and Oversee our mistakes and sins through His Mercy. Ameen

JAK sister. I see and hear about a lot of cases of abuse in Pakistani culture in “susraal”. If you are closing the door of counselling, I’m afraid it can create even bigger issues. I think in our community we need to have “Islamic counselling” where people should share what has been bothering them or what they couldn’t come to terms with and take advice in line other Quran and Sunnah and know when it is dangerous to stay in marriage. This is in line with Surah Asar and shouldn’t be taken as gossip or tearing off the “Libaas”. An abusive relationship is very unhealthy for children too. Brother you have some really good points here, I agree, people should not mix cultural habits with Islamic Principles, as you are entering very dangerous territory by doing this, if one partner lacks Islamic knowledge, He or She will want to live their life according to that Cultural lifestyle, where as a person with the Islamic knowledge does not want to, the couples personality will clash, no matter how hard one tries to be patient, it's like hitting a brick wall, Islam is not a harsh religion, it teaches you to be kind and towards your fellow human beings, and mistreatment is not allowed in Islamic, whether it is physical, mental or emotional. I know quite a few people who are dealing with Narcissist partners, and this is completely against Islamic beliefs
