The closest thing I experienced to classic space was space police 3, and the fact stuff like that and power miners have been forgotten you LEGO makes me sad.

1:18 But if this Lego theme predates The Legend of Zelda (or at least the first depiction of the Triforce as we see it today), then that means the Triforce is actually an upside down Blacktron symbol.
Here we go boys, space police. Ive been excited for the past couple hours~ Im torn about space police 3.i like the use of aliens instead of just humans like older space lines. But theyre all enemies... which annoys me. Id still love space police 4; it could possibly have some aliens on the lawful, or even civilian sides (maybe only one or two alien races as to keep them kinda evenly distributed and not have the "this generic unit is only in the high end sets" problem), maybe an even villain distribution too. It could be done. I kinda like how its all smaller criminals, though. It makes it feel more like police and less like a war. I never really got any space police sets though. Wave 3 is the only onr that came out in my life, and at the time i was more focused on bionicle, power miners, and exo force
All the old Space themes, god how I love them! Also, I absolutely agree, that the thing with the Aliens in SP3 seems really odd. There are also some references to the old Space themes in SP3. In the "5981- Raid VPR" set, the alien has a "Blacktron 2" suit. I also heard somewhere, that the yellow and black accents in the set "5985 - Space Police Central" are in fact references to the classic space line, not sure if that's true though.
the worst part of blacktron not coming back with space police for sp3 was the fact one of the aliens had a blacktron logo on their torso, the one in 5981, raid vpr.
I hope with creator they do more scifi space things, that would be awesome, or maybe dedicate a new line and have rival factions fighting for control of older tech created in the space police and blacktron days
I hope we get another space police line again someday. They literally made “sky police” in the more realistic City line, so space police doesn’t seem like that much of a stretch.
Watching these videos takes me WAAAAY back to when I was a little Legomaniac. It took me a moment, but I realized I had the set 6933 shown briefly at 3:37. Holy crap, I thought that set was balls-to-the-wall awesome to build!
6:44 admittedly there is Blacktron in the theme...in one minifigure from the Raid VPR set. Yup an alien on foot sporting Blacktron gear but underdeveloped. Likewise with another alien referencing Insectoids.
There was a reference to blacktron in the Raid VPR set 8:15. I had that set and the space crook that came in that set, called Rench. His torso was a remade version of blacktron 1’s torso with the blacktron 2 logo. There were also a few references in the LEGO minifigures series. The space villain from series 3 had the blacktron 2 logo on his torso. The chest armor piece from the “evil mech” minifigure had the blacktron 1 logo. (Inverted triforce). Sorry i wanted to mention these because space police 3 was one of my favorite themes back when I was a kid. And I’ve been a fan of blacktron since I discovered it years ago.
I never noticed how nice the space police 3 builds are. It came out in a time when I couldn't really pay attention to LEGO, so It must have flown under my radar.
Great video! I've been rebuilding my old LEGO Space sets and collecting a few along the way since late January. I've recently completed the Blacktron: Future Generation (the 1990's run) line, and built the Super Vehicle/Model. The LEGO Space series of the 1990's are my favorite LEGO sets of all time! And that Space Police commercial at the end was a great touch; so many memories!
Actually I have a space police 3 set where the alien has a blacktron logo on his outfit I forgot what the set was called, I'll say what it is when I look it up later
Man, I looove the intro sound, it reminds me when I used to play with tve Playstation 2... All those old space themes are a really weird memory, being born in 2001, I only used my dad's old space police wich had a long, hard life (almost half of the set was broken/lost) but still managed to build some small ones. Thanks for all those videos, just don't mess with society.
Lego's Space and Castle lines were my favorites when I was a kid in the '80s. I loved Blacktron and Ice Planet. My younger brother was all about Spyrius and Insectoids. If you really want Space Police III to have alien police and human bad guys, just do what we did and swap some of their heads.
Started to watch this series thanks to BrickTsar and his cameo appearances. Such an interesting format and something new to the Lego UA-cam scene which is filled with just reviews of popular sets. Thanks to this series I actually built one Ice Planet 2002 set which I have had for years but never even thought about assembling it. Really waiting for new episodes!
God I'd adore getting Blacktron 3/Space Police 4. In getting back into Lego over the past few years, collecting sets from the second wave Blacktron sets have been some of my favorite, they just ooze character IMO, and kinda like you said, the Blacktron 1 sets even have them beat in originality in a lot of ways. I think overall I'd just like to see a return to form with whatever next Space theme Lego gives us. Maybe even a futuristic City spin-off that would allow for a civilian/exploration take on Space rather than an exclusively conflict based theme, I think that could potentially sell really well.
Alternatively, if the next Space theme were to be conflict centered, I'd like to see more morally ambiguous factions with no real good guys or bad guys. Think kinda like Warhammer 40K, but more mild.
It’s kinda disappointing that we will probably not see another non-conflict-based fantasy space theme anytime soon, or even a series with multiple human factions. Lego really moved in the direction of a conflict between humans vs. something else with a lot of their more modern original themes (not just space).
there wasn't black tron properly in space police iii but the character "rench" does have their logo on the torso and also the overall design of it is a reference to black tron 1
I am so glad I stumbled into this series and your channel. Seeing these old sets is such a nostalgia trip, man. I wish lego would just re-issue their old themes. ICE PLANET and Rock Raiders I would blow all my money on
If blacktron was introduced into the newest version of space police I could see them taking on role that would be similar to that of the mob or mafia someone who could cause some real trouble for the space police but not be as easy to handle as the regular criminals
I like to think of Space Police III as a prequel for the other themes, that would be why the vehicles are like today's police cars before Blacktron and other themes
I think the new space police was more of a prequel version. Both because of their more earthly looks, them fighting criminals instead of an entire human faction in a cold war, and the lack of that faction in sets. Cause Blacktron didnt exist yet. I could totally see the space police starting out as nothing but normal police but growing ever more powerfull, influentual and militarized the more Blacktron became a problem. And the modern police force just is the original police before blacktron
Theres also the fact that the modern police force mostly hunted alien criminals. And then later Blacktron is only humans? Could it be that some sort of ellimination or rounding up, and sticking on resort planets, of all non humans has happened in the past? And the space police was the force that did that did the rounding up? And its only displayed as cops vs robbers cause we see history from the view of the victor? Would give space police some dark background. Which might explain why they tried to fend off Blacktron so agressively they became more of a military then just a police...
This video just brings me back, spacepolice 3 was one of my favourate themes as a child (man id love a space police 4 especialy with some alien police)
Blacktron may not have made a complete return in Space Police 3, but one of the sets came with an alien named Rench, and he wore an outfit similar to the original Blacktron. It even had a green "B", so Rench could be a Blacktron.
I like how you had two similar looking space craft in both Futuron and Blacktron II, though they functioned a little differently. Definitely gave the vibe of Corporate espionage to Blacktron II. And, what's REALLY interesting to me is that when they released a mini figure collection with Both M-Tron and Blacktron, they included figures from BOTH Blacktron themes, as well as a lone Space Police 1st Gen in the group. It makes me theorize that you were getting to see the two faces of Blacktron. One was their covert ops arm with the TriForce symbol and in all black, and the other was the Public Face of Blacktron, offering their services to anyone willing to pay. This would include good manufactured from stolen designs.
I had the Galatic Enforcer for Christmas one year as a kid and loved it to bits. Sadly I later lost some of specialzed parts and so I was unable to put it back together again.
Seeing all these space aliens and the potential undertones of interstellar alien stratification reminds me of this hilarious webcomic done in photo form: LIU Atlas. Yes, that one. That interstellar planetary documentary show featuring Doog.
8:45 why would anyone think that the humans are conquering/enslaving aliens? I mean they're capturing crooks, it just happens to be alien crooks. LEGO probably thought to keep it simple and safe to make fictional aliens the baddies.
Notification squad! Love these videos even though I don't play with legos anymore. It's always a treat when you upload and it's good to walk down memory lane.
I still have my insectoids and ufo, and way too many g1 bionicles. I've always loved classic space. The post 2000 space themes we've gotten lack the charm of the original lego system space themes. Your content is extremely good for the more nerdy types like me. I always stop what I'm doing to watch these. (Thanks for the heart, I rarely comment on videos.)
I got the Futron Monorail for Christmas one year, and I normally didn't get big sets... Always wanted the bigger Blacktron, M-Tron, and Space Police ships, but still never got them to this day!
I just broke out and cleaned up my old Galactic Peace Keeper ship today. One of the best presents I got from my Grandma back in that era of toys. As for Blacktron II Mocks - I used to have that Futuron Pod robot thing: Cosmic Pursuer, I think it's called. With some bits from the different Marvel battle suits, and that Creator Shuttle 3-in-1 set, I was able to remake most of it in a sleeker, more functional form. Now I just need a classic dome for it. I actually want a Neon Trans Green one so that I can have a Blacktron II 'copy cat' to play around in for some of the spares I picked up, like that new MiniFigure from the 2024 collection. Even tempted to do one in Red for M-Tron.
im sure some people have already said this, but sp3 isn't without a rival faction, nearly all of the baddies in the line work for the gangster-esque villain from the limo set. and are known as the black hole gang. also, atleast one of them, from the set with the purple tow-truck style vehicle, is allied with blacktron, featuring a combination of the blacktron 1 and 2 uniforms.
I grew up with Space Police III. Really liked the Alien Designs and vehicles. I owned a good chunk of the sets, but nothing compared to what my Power Miners collection was. The older Space Police and Blacktron sets seem interesting. Aught to pick them up sometime.
There was a certain charm about the space sets from the 90s due to their exciting color schemes and the simplicity of the builds. The ships weren't as stream lined as the modern space or star wars sets but they still just looked cool.
another amazing episode. imagine this now a days. the possibilitys. its amazing to think what we could get. maybe with some story stuff behind it like a tv show how they do other themes. could be good.
The Yellow and Black vs White and Blue factions in space reminds me of the International Space Agency vs Moon Mining Cooperative from the game Shattered Horizon, where the MMC accidentally blows up the moon while mining, and the ISA is sent to bring them to justice.
I can't believe that I missed out on Space Police 3, looking back on it I would've loved it as I already loved aliens and the spaceships were really cool. Definitely hope I can get some in the future. It would be neat if I got rebooted in the future, but with either human good guys and bad guys or a mix of human and alien good guys and bad guys. Also Blacktron did make a sort of cameo with that one of the aliens had a Blacktron uniform on. So it's possible that Blacktron exists in that universe
It would be killer to get a redo of classic space. Sure, we got Space Police 3, but I wanna see Blacktron again, says me, someone who wasn’t born until way after classic space.
I guess I never really looked further into the different incantations on the same themes, I had heard there was a space police 1, 2, and maybe even a 3, but never cared to see which was which. Turns out I grew up with the red headed step child 2. But I have to admit 1 looks the best, same with blacktron. Seems Lego is finally coming around on their old themes what with 2 castles last year, blacksmith, black forest, 2 pirate ships, and a blacktron thing coming up. Keep em coming Lego!
You know, there was *one* Blacktron figure in one SP3 set - one of the Aliens was wearing the uniform with the logo. He may have been in only one set, but that set *did* show Blacktron clash with the space police again for the first time in over a decade.
Honestly, it would be nice to see space themes going simultaneously and build on common lore like back these from the 90s but this time including aliens to each faction, maybe with like some factions having some animosities towards specific alien species cuz of a harsh past, but not such definitive humans vs aliens scenario, and fact other factions team up with this species pumps up their rivalry, just a concept that i think would work really well if LEGO decided to try
Sweet I really love these themes and learning more about them I wasn’t around for some of these themes because well I was born in 2002 but I did have the space police remake but not the original. It’s really interesting to learn more about differences that lego had back then and now. Keep it up i love this content.
I really loved the space police version 3 mother ship. How it could separate itself to become multiple ships. It reminded me of the Fantastic Car from the Fantastic Four.

Considering we have a Clancy Wiggum - sorry, _Wiggins_ - minifigure, I wonder why nobody's tried rebuilding that scene in LEGO?
Maybey lego space city like everything that Lego city has but Spacey
1:18 But if this Lego theme predates The Legend of Zelda (or at least the first depiction of the Triforce as we see it today), then that means the Triforce is actually an upside down Blacktron symbol.
Here we go boys, space police. Ive been excited for the past couple hours~
Im torn about space police 3.i like the use of aliens instead of just humans like older space lines.
Some really out there alien cops wouldve been really nice
7:49 I can work with that on Brick Theory. I've been aiming to make a timeline for space, town And castle and I can see that happen over time
All the old Space themes, god how I love them!
I noticed it eons ago. ^_^
I'm doing my part.
Literally any symbol: [has a triangle]
Zelda fans: TRI FOOOORRRRCE!!!!
Conspiracy theorists: ILLUMINAAAATIIIII
Fun Fact: the symbol the Triforce is based off of is the insignia for the Hojo Samurai Clan.
Thank you for the fact
Wow, You produce these videos like a factory. I am impressed! Brings back all the nostalgia.
there was one criminal in space police III that work for Blacktron. he the green one at 8:13. but yeah I want the older space themes to return.
the worst part of blacktron not coming back with space police for sp3 was the fact one of the aliens had a blacktron logo on their torso, the one in 5981, raid vpr.
My favorite theme's have always been the classic space ones, and they definitely still are. They just have so much potential.
I just found your channel yesterday and binge watched all these rewind vids I really love them!
These are coming out at the speed of light!!!
Excellent video again, Nick! I love Space Police, so it's fantastic to see more detail behind it. Never quite understood how people hated them ;)
HI Dalek!
This theme is pure nostalgia for me
Actually I have a space police 3 set where the alien has a blacktron logo on his outfit
I forgot what the set was called, I'll say what it is when I look it up later
Man, I looove the intro sound, it reminds me when I used to play with tve Playstation 2...
All those old space themes are a really weird memory, being born in 2001, I only used my dad's old space police wich had a long, hard life (almost half of the set was broken/lost) but still managed to build some small ones.
Thanks for all those videos, just don't mess with society.
5:42
Ive been obsessed with this design ever since, Me and my bro used too modify it and everything
The MOCs these people come up with have blown me away time and time again, and I'm interested to see what others have whipped up
These videos are the reasons why i got into lego again. So nothing than good wishes for you
Lego's Space and Castle lines were my favorites when I was a kid in the '80s. I loved Blacktron and Ice Planet. My younger brother was all about Spyrius and Insectoids.
If you really want Space Police III to have alien police and human bad guys, just do what we did and swap some of their heads.
I didn't grow up with Blacktron or Space Police 1-2, as I was born in 2004, I would like to see another Blacktron for I could see how it can be
Started to watch this series thanks to BrickTsar and his cameo appearances. Such an interesting format and something new to the Lego UA-cam scene which is filled with just reviews of popular sets. Thanks to this series I actually built one Ice Planet 2002 set which I have had for years but never even thought about assembling it. Really waiting for new episodes!
In the meantime, there are plenty of others to binge.
@@NickonPlanetRipple That's what I've been doing lately. 😁
Man those mocs are awesome and heck the Space theme is still popular today and even if I ever wanted a set or create my own Lego Space Police moc.
The 3rd wave of space police was one of my first Lego!
there wasn't black tron properly in space police iii but the character "rench" does have their logo on the torso and also the overall design of it is a reference to black tron 1
If I remember right he was a Blacktron agent who was hired for a mission in Futuron at the time
I am so glad I stumbled into this series and your channel. Seeing these old sets is such a nostalgia trip, man. I wish lego would just re-issue their old themes. ICE PLANET and Rock Raiders I would blow all my money on
Space police 2K was really cool and fun. I'm kinda sad it was too expensive for me at the time
2:59 he surely said “Space Fighter” not Space Spider haha
If blacktron was introduced into the newest version of space police I could see them taking on role that would be similar to that of the mob or mafia someone who could cause some real trouble for the space police but not be as easy to handle as the regular criminals
I like to think of Space Police III as a prequel for the other themes, that would be why the vehicles are like today's police cars before Blacktron and other themes
Same
I think the new space police was more of a prequel version.
I absolutely LOVE the looks of Space Police III and Blacktron II
I really hope I can get some of those old sets one day
"Space police"
In space nobody can hear you commit crimes
6:15 Alway Will Love that Colored Canopy Design !
I had the Galatic Enforcer for Christmas one year as a kid and loved it to bits.
Sadly I later lost some of specialzed parts and so I was unable to put it back together again.
Sweet I like how you are going into more in depth into the the specific themes
The old space themes make me smile. Good memories.
I was waiting for this episode for a long time and you delivered man, good job.
That robot dog set from space police three is probably the best small/tiny set LEGO has ever made.
Oh I remember seeing some of the old Galactron sets at the lego museum in Prague.
I had the space train set as a kid, that thing was kickass.
Blacktron inclusion was an excellent surprise. Awesome video as always!
I remember the original blacktron, space police 2 and m-tron back when I was younger. Definitely some of my favourite memories or lego growing up
Seeing all these space aliens and the potential undertones of interstellar alien stratification reminds me of this hilarious webcomic done in photo form: LIU Atlas.
It's the pattern, the consistency of it that eventually strikes people as weird.
First of all, I love your videos. They go pretty in-depth, and they are fun to watch. I doubt I will ever get tired of your voice.
Loved this line! ❤️ so much nostalgia!
I grew up with Space Police III. Really liked the Alien Designs and vehicles. I owned a good chunk of the sets, but nothing compared to what my Power Miners collection was.
The older Space Police and Blacktron sets seem interesting. Aught to pick them up sometime.
My favourite theme
I’m glad you talked about this. I didn’t grow up during this era but I wish that I did these sets look fantastic I wish I had them.
Another classical lego rewind from Nick the great
After pirates, space police/blacktron is lego to me. Such a great video!!!
The Space Police in one sentence:
"There is no shelter for those who oppose the Imperium of Man."
Lego 6886 is my only childhood survivor. I absolutely loved the Space Police 1 and M:Tron sets.
With each episode I learn more about where all those parts from the big drawer full of Legos from my big brother came from.
It's interesting to see how different each iteration is
I guess I never really looked further into the different incantations on the same themes, I had heard there was a space police 1, 2, and maybe even a 3, but never cared to see which was which.
Lego recently released an updated space police 1 minifig as a collectable minifig, so I came back to watch this again
Once again Nick, another great video!
Space Police 3 was the best generation in my opinion. We really, really REALLY need it back!!!
