The part where the dad said “let’s go on a daddy date “ just broke my heart. I wish more fathers knew how to love and take care of their daughters that way. Great sermon.

So I’m not going to tell you what the takeaway from this is comment is. Strap in; this is gonna be a long road.
We are here, in this universe, all of us. There are many different people with many different views and beliefs. Some don’t believe in a higher power. Some do, and some even believe in many.
The fact of the matter is that there are clear lines in the sand… or are there?
Now, we all know life is messy. And we all have some sort of guiding light. For some it’s the stars, for others, the heavens-it’s all spiritual and real simultaneously.
Let’s take a moment to think critically. Theoretically, if multiple different cultures across the globe in different centuries, sometimes millennia apart all believe in some sort of ruler and have documented stories about them… you’d think they’d have to be true and that someone must have gotten it right. That’s kinda like the thought experiment of an infinite amount of monkeys typing would produce a work of Shakespeare eventually, which theoretically is true.
So the question is: who got it right? Well… what if everyone is? And no, this isn’t some sort of woke feel-good participation trophy. This is a legitimate theory.
What if all cultures with religions had contact with actual divinity? And what if it was the same divinity, just at different points in time?
Different time, different people, different culture. People interpret things differently based on their upbringing and understanding of the world, no? Different styles of storytelling. Different political landscapes. It all affects culture.
So what if Arael isn’t much different from Bast. And is Michael all that different from Ares? How about Ra and Apollo? Are An and the one God of Christianity whose name we cannot know any different? And how about Vayu and Raphael, do they not serve similar purposes?
Perhaps they are, and my analysis is whack. But it’s also possible that it was just understood and recorded differently.
For why would the Greek god of war be worshipped before a major battle, but the same is not said of Michael? Because we do not believe war to be sacred or an instrumental part of our culture, right?
And why is it that Christianity is not the only religion out there that says “This is the only way for salvation”? Islam does that too. But there are also religions out there that don’t believe this concept.
It is not my belief that Christianity is wrong. I’m not saying Islam is wrong either. I’m not saying anyone is wrong.
I just beg the question… what if religion keeps us from seeing the bigger picture as a whole? We get so bogged down in the details, sometimes taking passages out of context that we forget to look up from our phones and love the person sitting next to us. And yes, that even means the guy with BO on the subway that someone, somewhere just looked up at.
Christianity and Judaism both preach the Ten Commandments. But how many of us actively follow them without having to remind ourselves every hour of every day? I know I do. But that’s only because I know I have a good heart. I’m not actually religious. I don’t have to be to actively be a good person.
I don’t mean good intentions-I’m sure you know the aphorism about the road to the underworld. But if you need to brush your teeth then I’m gonna say something-tactfully, but I’m still gonna say something because I would want someone to mention it to me. Love your neighbor as you love yourself. Boom. Didn’t even have to think about it. We’re all taught the golden rule as a child, and I took that to heart growing up.
Just be kind. You don’t need some book for that. By all means read it, go to church. That’s fine. Just remember that you’re not in some simulation. Just remember that there are real people around you. Just remember that just because you believe in Jesus doesn’t mean that other people are not worth listening to.
If others aren’t being kind, then they don’t deserve your kindness and you don’t have to listen to that. Life is what we make of it. Every single one of us is here for a reason. We all have our own journeys and experiences.
We shouldn’t shut our hearts to everyone just because they’re different. But we also shouldn’t listen to them if they’re a fertilizer salesman because you don’t need that-you need a bit of unicorn hair and a phoenix tail feather… and most people have snippets of them, but not the whole strand of hair and not the whole feather. Take what you can from every interaction.
And I’ll wrap this up by tying it all back to what I said at the beginning. I’m not going to tell you what to take away from this. That’s up to your interpretation-and the beauty of your humanity.
I am not here to lie or manipulate anyone’s beliefs. I am merely giving my beliefs and they are just words on a page. They do not affect you unless you let them, and you are not even asked to agree. All I ask is that you hear what I have said and take from it what you will, if anything at all. If it sounds like bollocks, then disregard it.

The world is better now than it ever was in the past. Less disease, less slavery, less hunger, less fear, and far greater knowledge.
Religion is declining world wide because people are becoming more educated.
Preachers and evangelists are mostly in it for money and power. How sad.
