I bet this song has one of the highest played per user rates of anything on youtube. Meaning, people who do find it listen to it over and over and over again...
My friends and I got to see him last night in New York, he was great! And for this song he let the crowd sing the "I Would Have Let You Leave".... It was beautiful! Try to go see him live if he comes round your neck of the woods...
Lyrics: I count the steps from where I am To where I started I tap my feet And close the door, to your apartment And I know you're never gonna understand It's too late for you to stop and think Too late to mention I make a move and spill my drink To break the tension I know you're never gonna understand I'll try my best to follow if I can, but I would have let you leave [x3] The static waves across the screen Define this notion Back and forth and in between Like my emotion And I know you're never gonna understand And won't you slow this down oh if you can You swayed your hips and stole the breathe That I was taking I touched your lips and held your hands When they were shaking Look how we've fallen upon our knees How we forgot it These empty halls held our disease Before we caught it Now out the door and down the stairs from your apartment I would have let you leave The static waves across the screen Define this notion Back and forth and in between Like my emotion Now out the door and down the stairs From your apartment I count the steps from where I am To where I started I would have let you [x3] I would have let you leave
I don't know why this song isn't more popular. It definitely beats 99.9% of the stuff I always hear on the radio. Andrew is a very talented artist and Katie's voice is absolutely beautiful.
This song annoyed me at first, but it grew on me. I think it's the strangely tugging and irresistible way Andrew Belle starts every verse. "You swayed your hips and stole the breath that I was taking..."
so about 3 months ago i discovered katie herzig through a tweet from don miller. i LOVE her music! then yesterday i heard andrew belle for the first time on radio here in South Africa and LOVED it instantly - NOW i stumble onto a duet of the 2 of them working together?!!? no ways!!
what i pull away from this song is that he was unsure about his feelings, and simply was unsure of what to do. And the line "i would have let you leave" would imply that at anytime, theyre ready to move on....at least, thats what i get from this song...Still very beautiful
This was what I first thought when I heard this song, since "In My Veins" was in Castle. And this perfect song remind me of her, who is perfect as well. So yeah, I think I DID make sense.
This song is the story of my life :D I listen to this song whenever life gets confusing or complicated. This song always is able to ground me and calm me down!
i heard this song on radio a few times, but have no idea who the artist is and the song title. So i googled ' i would have let you leave' and bingo!....Andrew Belle, static wave. Thank you so much to DJ Patricia K from CapitalFM, Malaysia for introducing me to this brilliant song!
Met this song during my visit to noisetrade.com 4 years ago. Such a nostalgic song. I remember the moment I heard the intro my heart shivered and felt something clicked inside of me. And this song had been accompanying me during my high school moments. I used to enjoy this song on car and ship. It really fits the atmosphere especially when you're faced with ocean. So yeah, lots of feelings just for a 3 minutes song. Awesome.
Andrew, you don't know how much this song has blessed me. How many times this song has been the highlight of my late night hours in front of my PC. You are truly a blessing. Never stop being so authentic and pure, 'cause that reflects in your music and I can't say It has brought me to tears but I fell so many wounds in my heart healing when I listen to your music. Man, you're RAAAAAAAAAAAD!
I am so looking forward to seeing them both! They are on Tour Together! I am going to drive from Tampa to Atlanta to see them! Road trip here I come on October 1rst!
The more I listen to this song, the more I can relate it to past relationships that weren't meant to be but we stuck it out anyways. Beautiful how he could write a song that perfectly explains that feeling.
¡God! This song makes me feel so much better... Like: "Ok... Ok... She's gone but... you know what, everything was so perfect. I think that everything will be allright" ... Feel RealLove :') .. I miss her, but... I could be more happy without her.
I just can't stop listening to this song. And when I ain't listening, I'm singing it inside my head. Can't get it out my head, I even made my exam better with this song on my mind! It's so gorgeous.
i really hope you make it in the music world, andrew belle. (you too katie!) you are one of those genuine & amazing musicians that really does deserve it. everyone that i've introduced your music to feels the same! you're getting there for sure... keep doing what you're doing... it's working. :)
So I've been thinking about this song for a bit and I've finally come to a theory on what it might mean/represent. I think the song is about a young couple just starting out, but she passed away in some manner. He goes to her apartment to collect her things and all the photos and items keep reminding him of her. The line "I would have let you leave" is her saying she would have forgave him. Anyways my idea to join the others.
What a song. More than a decade later, it hits the same.
why isn't he more popular???
Just be glad u accidentally stumbled on to an exclusive group,
He is a good singer
super underrated song. Needs to come back.
I’m still listening this song in 2022. Amazing lyrics
“These empty hearts held our disease before we caught it” - poignant lyric and applies to so many relationships
I bet this song has one of the highest played per user rates of anything on youtube. Meaning, people who do find it listen to it over and over and over again...
I've violated the replay button so many times.

JonMessWifey I was thinking the same thing
What’s the meaning behind it
this guy is a genius musician
10 years later … this song is still stunning. I don’t even relate to this song yet its so beautiful.
Lyrics: I count the steps from where I am
To where I started
I tap my feet
And close the door, to your apartment
And I know you're never gonna understand
It's too late for you to stop and think
Too late to mention
I make a move and spill my drink
To break the tension
I know you're never gonna understand
I'll try my best to follow if I can, but
I would have let you leave [x3]
The static waves across the screen
Define this notion
Back and forth and in between
Like my emotion
And I know you're never gonna understand
And won't you slow this down oh if you can
You swayed your hips and stole the breathe
That I was taking
I touched your lips and held your hands
When they were shaking
Look how we've fallen upon our knees
How we forgot it
These empty halls held our disease
Before we caught it
Now out the door and down the stairs from your apartment
I would have let you leave
The static waves across the screen
Define this notion
Back and forth and in between
Like my emotion
Now out the door and down the stairs
From your apartment
I count the steps from where I am
To where I started
I would have let you [x3]
I would have let you leave

Katie Herzig compliments Andrew so well in this song.
Common... make it a million views soon. It is an injustice to have such a song go unnoticed.
Easily one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard.

A Song About Being In A Relationship Where You Know In Your Heart There's No Future But You Stay Anyway.
