Our daughter born in 1978 was diagnosed 25 years later with 22 q deletion syndrome. She has no problems with heart. But she developed psychosis and schizophrenia in her adult years. 20% of the children develop psychiatric problems.

hello, thank u very much for ur video. its very helpfull the issues u shared, the fact these patients dont have to be always presented with their classic symptoms. now I see there is still reason to continue studying my FLK patient despite doesnt have those obvious troubles (heart, infections, hypocalcaemia). have a nice day!

Hi. Thank you for the video. I was born with tetralogy of Fallot (corrected at 3) but several years ago, I was diagnosed with this. I never knew I had that. Is that common to find out later in life? I am also trying to get a 2nd booster vaccine. Would I qualify for this? It now makes sense to me that I would get sick with colds so easy growing up and as an adult.

I'm sure there are plenty of people diagnosed as an adult. Since 22q symptoms are diverse, many Dr's could easily miss things, especially if they aren't severe. I don't have 22q [just interested in genetic conditions lol], but I have Ehlers-Danlos & ADHD & neither were diagnosed until I was in my mid-20s. I hope you're doing well.

Hello! My cousins child was diagnosed with this genetic disorder. She's so sweet but at the other side she also has very horrible outbursts. She brays and cries very loudly and also bites her mother....it's a really sad condition

A chewy toy can help with her biting. My son loves it. He has autism and it was associated with this syndrome. Once I learned about his autism I was able to understand him more and hElp him with his needs
