So nice to see the new Hill Country Weavers space! When I was last up there, they were mid-move. I cried big, fat rural knitter tears. I love the openness off the new space.
We love knitting and crocheting (also cross stitch, embroidery, patchwork, country painting, felting... I would say almost any handcraft) in Mexico, you are so very welcome anytime Vicky! Love your shows! Greetings form Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico.
I ALWAYS enjoy everything Vickie puts out - I also would like to see Knitty Gritty again on TV. There is ALWAYS a different technique you show and polish my knitting and crochet skills - Thank You Vickie
I loved your trip to your local yarn shop! What a well-organized environment! It made me want to bring my collection of needles and hooks so I could travel the aisles to grab color after wooly color, creating projects as I roam. If I ever come to Austin, I will definitely visit there.
Congrats on a fabulous first season. Please please do more. Such a professional show. I totally loved it. You've inspired me to start some new knitting projects and maybe even crochet which I haven't done since high school.
Adorable little animals! Love the yarn store no real local yarn shops here only the big chain stores. Beautiful yarns! Who doesn't love crafting for the holidays?
Your show is well done. Especially the demonstrations of patterns and techniques. The camera angles are excellent for seeing what is being done. The studio is beautiful and modern. Just enough talking, plenty of examples and an upbeat feel over all. Congratulations!!!!
I was born raised and lived in Mexico City for more than 35 years and knitting and crocheting definitely has a presence there!... probably this woman didn’t know enough people or something
The hat project is so cute. I will definitely try it. One tip I got from Suzanne Bryan was to use two sets or the same size circulars when making projects in the round. Double points are fine but I find myself dropping stitches as I turn the project. The needle keepers work but using two sets of circulars avoids all that.
On my goodness. The season was over too quickly. I've started sharing ...will continue to do so! I particularly loved all the tutorials. Feeling incredibly inspired. I'm hoping to get to Hill Country Weavers in the very near future. Exciting!
This has been such a great show! Each episode is packed with tips and sources; fantastic! You have put so much work & love into this. Thank you so much & I must visit your website and shop... 🤗🤗
Just finished watching all the episodes. I love, love, love the show. I already know what I want to treat myself with on my next paycheck with all gorgeous products you've shown. Can't wait for more episodes.
I love ,love, love your show Vickie! I just binge watched the last 3 shows and I gotta say,, I'll be going back to watch a few again because of all the great info and tutorials. I always tried to watch your Knitty Gritty show but they only aired it here at stupid times IE: 4AM. Who can knit at that time in the morning? Anyway,, this show is wonderful as are you. I've been following you for a few years and you always inspire. Thank you for all your hard work. :)
Thank you so much! If you wouldn't mind spreading that love by sharing the show in any groups or boards you participate in, we'd really appreciate it. So glad you like it!
I just shared a pic of my finished version of the Clover hat that Susan B Anderson designed. I shared it on Instagram and FB because she shows how to do it on your "Knit Show". I'll keep spreadin' the word because I want to keep your show going strong.
OMG! I loved this season. I can't wait for the next season. I also love your Ask Me Monday. I was sad when Knitty Gritty ended as it was my inspiration to learn to knit.
Loved your episodes, boo hoo this is the last one. Long time knitter/crocher yet every episode thought me something new, showed me something that surprised me. I had a note pad and pen by my side to jot down tips, ideas and references. You always keep the show fun, exciting and innovative. Love the field trips too!!! Best Wishes to your show in Texas, from our small flower farm in Northern California.
This is so far my FAVORITE one! I hope we get a second season! I'm just now finding your show so I have alot of catching up to do. I'm in love with it! Again love love the continental knitters! That hat is adorable! And Vicki your dress is GORGEOUS! I'm a succulent/cacti addict as well as yarn addict so this show is one of my favorites. Are you into succulents too? Bc I see them around the studio ❤
Fantastic Season 1, hopefully many more to come:) Such a high quality show. Austin knitters are very lucky to have such an amazing yarn shop too! @knittingpoppy
I disagree with Adriana. Knitting is very big in Mexico more so than the U.S. Perhaps she meant only Mexico City. I grew up in the State of Jalisco where every one from early age is taught to Knit and Crochet, Weave, embroider and more. It is still going on a big way. I follow Laura Cepeda on UA-cam, her family not only owns a yarn store in Puebla, Mexico but has her own magazine and travels to craft shows all over the country. I love that I have had that background and is been great to expand watching the PBS and UA-cam shows.
I am retired in central Mexico (middle of nowhere) and I can say knitting is as big in this country as it is underdeveloped. It is really hard to find good wool and natural fibers (except for cotton). For example, only ONE shop in the whole country sells Malabrigo. The market is full of cheap acrylic, and the techniques and tools used by most of the many knitters I know are dated. Another interesting thing is that knitters are mostly taught to knit combination knitting, where purling is incredibly easy, but useless for any circular knitting. Also, adapting mainstream patterns to combo knitting is painstakingly tedious, hence, most people prefer crochet. Given the language barrier, it is really hard to spread all the goodness that exists in more developed countries. I go crazy at yarn shops when I travel, and my stash is my biggest treasure.
Silvia Sandoval my family is Italian the woman in my family know how to knit crochet etc etc at about the age of 45 years old my my mum learnt in nursery school and school domestic chores and so she can do it all. I don't think it will die away there will always be people that knit crochet embroider sew cross stitch in South America Europe Africa ect.
Silvia Sandoval yes, in Mexico almost every woman 50+ knows how to knit crochet or embroider... NOT the case in the US! So that proves that the comment from that woman is completely wrong!!
The entire season has been uploaded already, so for now new videos will just be bonus content. Eventually we hope to get future seasons funded, but for now we're just trying to get eyes on this one. You can help, though by spreading the word on any boards or in groups that you're a part of. :-)

Wow. Vicky Howell. I am so glad you’re back. Knitting Gritty made me a Knittster. Thanks for the show.
I loved your trip to your local yarn shop! What a well-organized environment! It made me want to bring my collection of needles and hooks so I could travel the aisles to grab color after wooly color, creating projects as I roam. If I ever come to Austin, I will definitely visit there.

Love this first season! Vickie what was the other show you were on?
