Bernd Zimmermann, in “Monologue” for two pianos (ua-cam.com/video/9ctnMJ6xMNM/v-deo.html), is trying to write two tempos at the same time: 60 and 63 beats per minute. Both have a time signature of 4/4, but Zimmermann's bar length in centimeters for each tempo is constantly changing and often a bar at 60 beats per minute is shorter in centimeters than a bar at 63. There are simultaneous quotes from Bach and Messiaen at tempi 76 and 60. Ratio 76 : 60 = 1.26. This means that the length of 4/4 bars in centimeters should differ by 1.26 times. Zimmermann ignores it. This begs the question: maybe, the tempi are not as indicated - 76 and 60? The creation of polytempo music notation by 1964 was clearly overdue, but Zimmermann failed to cope with it... I created a simple and clear notation of polytempo music. Instructions how to notate it can be found on my website. Also, my book "Synchronous Music and Schrödinger's Cat" is coming up. It will include the following chapters: 1. Composition as counterpoint of logical structures. 2. Polytempo and synchronous music. 3. Time. 4. Sign of place. 5. Numbers. 6. Granite of silence. 7. Notation. 8. Material and texture. 9. Aesthetics. 10. Traditions of composition, performance and perception.

why Irreale when Surreale exists?
Boutta teach my man italian hehe
Italian bad language(?) 😂
Isn't it the difference between unreal and surreal?
No need to wonder why Zimmermann killed himself if he felt like this most of the time.
this dude casually shitting on modern composers on every video possible and this was by far the worst of all of them 🙃
