7 years of payments lol... wow... nuts.... and dont forget its a ford... 7 yrs ... dont think so... 4 -5 they'll be crusing that like a pop can and selling you a new one ;)
When my friend and I worked on his 92 Toyota Tercel it has every brake like rusted right out of it. Spent years sitting in the yard plus it’s whole life in Chicago. Salt works wonders. Even the hood latch even rusted right off of it.
This truck has low miles but the rust on this is makes it look like it had a rough life. Kinda like a 30 year old woman that’s smoked meth for years. She’s 30 but looks like she’s 60.
Doc Low miles but don’t let it fool, you it’s got a ton of operating hours on it, probably the equivalent of 250,000 miles. I maintain a fleet of plow trucks for a local town highway Dept and we retire/sell our trucks with miles between 23,000-45,000.At that point they usually have about 4-7000 operating hours. An over the road truck averages 50 mph,at that rate 200,000-350 ,000 miles worth of wear. Those trucks work hard pushing a plow and they are always overloaded ,they also run a large hydraulic pump full time off the crankshaft usually that draws a pretty constant 25-50 hp off the engine....
Those c6500 are my grandads go to utility truck for his own concrete business. He Bought it used in 2013 from Dallas that has a cat diesel in it with a Allison 6 speed auto with AC. Still drives and tows excellent after 23 years
Old GMC top kick. I have not worked on one in years. They had them when I first started working for them. Large box truck even with a 454 they were slow as a old lady on her way to church. lolMassive oil leak and a oil pressure gauge that doesn't work. Not good lol
Hi 👋 Mate what a nice CMG truck that you brought just Remember that truck sat for a whole year it sounded petty cold you Probably half to warm it up old boy in tool the Temperature gauge starts moving then it should Idol 👍there mate what a nice truck 😜
Great truck, thanks for sharing. I have the twin to this truck! We just bought a 1999 Chevy C6500 with 33,000 miles. Ours has the 454 with a 5 speed transmission. It's a little underpowered the way it is setup now. Should have had a 6 speed with lower ratio or perhaps a diesel. We have a full sized backhoe we will be pulling and I'm thinking about putting a turbo on it to help with the hilly roads in our area.
@@13ESEBROWNY I didn't do the turbo. We did add a speed auxiliary transmission which gave us a slight overdrive in 3rd, 1 to 1 in 2nd gear and a skight underdrive in first. This combination has worked out very nice so far. Low range is ideal around here and the overdrive is great on the highway!
Looking for color code diagram for the multi switch on the column. Went to replace turn signal and pulled the larger odd shaped plug out and all the wires came out and no real wiring diagram. 2000 f350 7.3 thanks for any advise or help thanks.
The automatic trucks had a dip stick close to the firewall on the passenger side. The manual trucks had a plug on the passenger side of the transmission close to the pto plate.
Do you miss being a mechanic everyday? I was thinking of switching careers from the technology sector. Was thinking Diesel tech, aircraft mechanic etc.
Kinda lost me at the baby birds; they're so small and fragile. Please relocate their nest, unless this truck is going to sit long enough to give them a chance without smoking them out and killing the babies.
“Why buy new when you can have 430000 miles”
You’ve never been more true.
7 years of payments lol... wow... nuts.... and dont forget its a ford... 7 yrs ... dont think so... 4 -5 they'll be crusing that like a pop can and selling you a new one ;)
We demand a second part of this project!
You’re in luck, part two is already in the making!
I don't why but that part when the oil was spraying right onto the manifold made me chuckle. That's some final destination stuff right there
“Salt removal?” Lol lost it at that point

“Nothing like a toasted crispy wasp.”
Agreed! Lol.

Haha mad a gauge that doesn't work
Funny thing I remember when those trucks were new lol
wow so satisfying when it started up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahaha
Can’t afford 75% depreciation in the first 5 years of vehicle ownership

Totally awesome video
That’s what a working truck looks like when it’s had a hard life of removing salt.
Why isn't there a cover underneath the engine bay to stop things from rusting out
Great truck, thanks for sharing.

How did that go? was about to buy one for that same purpose.

Can you do an update on the excursion tour and test drive
Can you do a vehicle fleet update going through the state of all the various vehicles you feature, it gets a bit hard to keep track of lol
Just picked up a LPG 2001 c6500 with 147 that was super clean (Old Schwans Truck) LPG is new for me so that will be interesting
Just got a 99. It's setup on propane. I'm going to try to install fuel lines and a fuel pump and get it back the way it's supposed to be
Hey Dan. I enjoyed watching your older videos and your Stihl tools. I wonder if you could start making videos about your Stihl tools again

Quality lane
Great job, do you know where is fuel pump relay located please. Itried to find it no luck
Those Vortec BBC's are a nightmare to deal with...
3:04 good start
Salt trucks are the worst to work on!!
Where's the fuel filter in those trucks. I recently bought the same one. Its sputtering when given gas
Is that a second gen ram charger in the background?
Are you planning on removing the aftermarket crap of wires
Something is always wrong with a GM product.
I have the same year.Mine is idling real high and of course slams into gear hard.Any idea what could cause this. Thanks
It’s just a small oil leak, no big deal.
Just dont work for your favorite brand of you’ll never want to own another one of their vehicles
Why a GMC Topkick instead of a Ford F-650?
I have a 2000 truck just like that but cat engine and only can go 65 miles per hour any idea y? Help please 🙏🙏🙏
Count yourself lucky you oped for the more powerful and faster version, ours is wound up and screaming at 55 mph!
And the birds ?
yes i thought that was BS when he kept working on the truck when he discovered the baby birds. what an asshole.
How do you check the transmission fluid on those 6500 I have a 99

I'm pretty sure that's a 454
Isn't that a 454 7.4 vortec or a 8.1 vortec
What engine does it have?
454 big block!
Hi
So it’s an 8.1L Vortec V8 with 295hp and 440 ft-lbs of torque.
Correction. 7.4l v8 with I think 290 hp or so and around 340 ish ft-lbs of torque if I’m not mistaken
I have the 8.1 in my Avalanche, these where the little brother to the 8.1, only 454 ci vers 496 ci of the 8.1
Stuck idle air control
Please tell me you didn’t take the torch to the birds 🐦? 😳
No he didn't tank god he moved them on the second video
Is that a 8.1?
This one has the 7.4
Sorry I rather that new truck I don’t like rusty old trucks
Kinda lost me at the baby birds; they're so small and fragile. Please relocate their nest, unless this truck is going to sit long enough to give them a chance without smoking them out and killing the babies.
This thing needs crushed
What engine does that thing have?
7.4 Vortech
