Boris old boy, you forgot the incident when Winston went into the men's room and placed himself at the other end of the stalls from Clem Attlee, the socialist leader. Churchill did two great things. In 1940-41 he saved Britain and the World. In 1951 he took the Tory party back into office and ended the Socialist state imposed by Atlee, Nye Bevan and Harold Wilson. By 1940 aged 66 he had acquired a lot of experience about war and politics. And have failed as Chancellor in the depression , he had a nine year sabbatical eating, drinking, reading and writing for the Press to think about it. As essentially unpaid backbencher he described himself as a journalist and had a lifelong interest in a free media. Within days of coming to power in May 1940, he found the Nazi army and SS on the banks of the Meuse, under the apparent command of General Guderain, his troop singing, ' we are sailing ( for England) . Winston asked his RAF Air Marshall's, ' can you provide some old obsolete planes, to expend. A 100 Battle fighter bombers, only 250 k. Right I order them to take out the house out that is Guderain's HQ on the east side of the Meuse, in the great tradition of the RAF and RN Capt of HMS Glowworm defending HMS Glorious from the Scharnhorst , they will take the German army and SS HQ by flying straight into. 20 RAF Battles went a straight into Guderain HQ, but it was actually next door, and Sailor was only shaken for a day. Rommel had taken the bridge . Churchill repeated the ordered in triplicate , if you find out were Rommel, Guderain or Heydrich's are , a 100 airborne immediately

It was really not unexpected. Being Mayor of London is clearly a practice run for PM. Boris has always had a massive ego and ambition. As a child he wanted to be "King of the World".
Hardly a ‘prediction’ it was always his stated aim and widely accepted he’d at least be conservative leader which is the same thing as be prime minister 🧐
@@Porkcylinder well, as long as that party is in power. He might be a leader of the opposition as party leader.
Catherine Nicholls
er.... yes but he isn’t he’s the leader of the ruling party. Not quite sure what your point is?
@@Porkcylinder if people are unfamiliar with the British system they may think a Prime Minister is elected separately from the legislature, like in the USA. And yes he is the leader of the ruling party!
This video is lovely. A visionary moment for someone who really became a Prime Minister and I truly admire. Warm Regards from Portugal!
Excellent lecture from a guy who is fluent in French, Italian and Latin; together with excellent German and Spanish. It is exceedingly rare that he needs an interpreter with him when in the corridors of Brussels or its different summit meetings. We have only seen the surface of his abilities to date; like his fluency in Languages, he will take us well forward Post Brexit. A good man who does not shout his talents, merely gets on with the job, a fact shouty opponents find very difficult to counter with any sense.
Don't forget his Greek; classical and modern. Μην ξεχνάτε.
David Lawson now he has a majority I hope he will grow into the great leader we need to push us forward from the self hating country we have become. In fact now he has the power I foresee great things for the UK.
And a horrible serial liar and serial adulterer.
As with Trump, I'll judge his track record after 4 years, less if he's crap.
Michael FlamingSword
Good luck on your search for the politician who does not have hidden secrets or skeletons to hide! At least he will admit when he has done wrong, those that depend on spin and bullshit are the ones you should fear.
I'm going to order a copy of The Churchill Factor, thank you.
Check also what Shashi Tharoor says for a comparison.
Order 2. Make me money.
Have you carried out your intention - if so, I think you'll agree it's money well-spent.
do you still have it?
Is that a good book?
A brilliant mind, A charm of a gentleman, capturing by fascination.
A scruffy Genius.
I love his dodging techniques & natural comradery. How’s your day Boris. Hope it’s good 🇬🇧
You spelt " muggy cockwomble " and " snide git " wrong Samantha buddy .
A genius....like Churchill, makes me feel proud.
Two years on do you still feel proud of him with him hosting parties against the rules he introduced for everyone else. To me he appears to be entitled oaf who wishes he was Charles I.
Yes Boris Johnson is a colourful, non conformist person. This presentation about Sir Winston Churchill was so interesting. Yes I wish to get a copy of Boris's book.
I can imagine Boris lecturing at a university on the Classics or History, I think he’d enthral his students. His book on the history of London is a very entertaining read.
Churchill, was magnificent,..a proud historical figure,..unique and a great achievements......love to hear all this good stuff.
Boris should never have been forced to resign he should have been allowed to finish is term in office and go for another genral election 2024.
Starmer saw Boris has his biggest threat and spent months and months trying to stir the public against Boris.
Putting up the Corbyn character against Boris Johnson seems rediculous today!
Yea thats alright if you like a lying bullshitting charlatan dont get sucked in by this man just look at how he has handled covid in our country, highest mortality rate of all Europe because of his incompetence this list goes on. worst priminister at the worst time. there is nothing funny about him believe me along with probably half the English electorate.
Fascinating section on Hong Kong. Who’d have thought...
Boris,..you ,sir ..are amazing and knowledgeable!!...Glad you are impressed with Churchill.
The Facilitator was a Visioner, Boris Johnson indeed became a Prime Minister!
Churchill never wanted UK to be a member of any European Community/Union/Federation.
Honourable Sir and The Seniors Presented in the hall,
The speeches with concurrent layers are pleasented the hall with joy and Happiness.
Thank you very much to all the seniors.
Churchill saved the western world!
Do u know or do u ignore the fact that he murdered 4+ million Indians.
@@gmpatra5296
He didn't murder them personally. He was the war time prime minister of Britain, what did you expect him to do? He had a duty to fight a war and hence diverted the rice exports. The Bengal famine was not because of Churchill but Indians themselves.
@@gmpatra5296 show me the evidence.
@@Shankar-Bhaskar Exactly. Also one should mention that the Bay of Bengal was controlled by the Imperial Japanese Navy, which made shipping somewhat difficult.
Is that why the hero's coming home from the horrors of war
Couldn't wait to vote the Swine out
love this man, he is so interesting to listen to and so informative
Here's the thing whether or not you like what he's saying, when he speaks you listen. I personally love watching him speak and practically drawn in even if I find the subject matter maybe a little complicated for my little brain to absorb. Btw that last woman with the question re Hong Kong was rather rude saying "No comment" after Boris gave a reasonable response to her question.
Does this mean you enjoy listening to the lies and obfuscation when he refuses to answer legitimate questions at PMQ?
We learn from every action we take in our life here.
What we need now great intellect
The pan right at 27:50 -- subtle. Verrry subtle.
Boris you are too well educated to become Prime Minster. Great speech.
I wish I could meet this man. He is brilliant and very well versed in history! I really learned something new. Thank you! Bless you, Boris!
are you still of the same opinion?
@@normansmithers7631 Just ask the English electorate if they feel the same i think you would have a rude awakening, this guy would make billy bulshitter look like an amateur
James McBride: The British electorate that voted him in? Because they’re conned by the corrupt media? Fact is there was a crisis - pandemic. He dealt with it better than any other government with more reasonable conditions compared to other countries. The British public will vote him in again if he stays in. Thank god.
Some bs comments here; he’s alright, his green stuff is crazy 😜 but he’s under klaus Schwabbs thumb so not easy
Boris Jhonson is amazing man. I'm from Israel and I hope and inspired to to the work he is doing. Not, long live the queen only long live Boris Jhonson
Boris fought tooth and nail for democracy against the full force of the Remainer establishment. He didn’t have to, he could have just capitulated but he didn’t. For that, plus his irrepressible enthusiasm for Britain, his humour and his deep knowledge of history and language, I will always love him a bit.
We do need the courage of Churchill hopefully you have it Boris you need to get us out of Eu as soon as possible as majority of our wonderful country voted out . The uk want to believe in Democracy again and want our identity back . Proud to be British 🇬🇧🏴🇬🇧
The history is written by winners... we'll never know how the world would have been without Churchill....
If I could vote for whom I would want to be our next P.M, Boris gets my vote every time.
One thing for sure Boris has zero Churchill Factor.
i cannot imagine what churchill felt in those dark moments in the early part of the second conflict...dunkirk...hms hood loss...the blitz....he really had to be focussed ....firm resolve.....his imaginative visual use of the english language...and solid anglo saxon stubbornness .....he begged america to help.....like ukraine.......i cannot imagine.
Fast forward. Churchill protected people and made sure everyone had a chance.
"To have the United States at our side was to me the greatest joy.
England would live
Britain would live

With a majority of 80!!
People may soon start to regret it
For a while, there were many comparisons made between Boris Johnson in Great Britain and Donald Trump in the U.S. But can ANYONE imagine Trump ever using such a linguistically sophisticated word as "indefatigable?" Can anyone even imagine him being able to pronounce it?
Can you imagine Johnson exhorting a mob of thugs to attack the Houses of Parliament to prevent a vote and hunt down and kill his political opponents?
A Great speech👍
Churchill repeated the ordered in triplicate , if you find out were Rommel, Guderain or Heydrich's are
, a 100 airborne immediately
Wtf are you on about. You need to get your dates sorted out. Harold WIlson had not imposed a socialist state by 1951, lol - wrong decade sunshine.
at any rate ingsoc is thriving while the nation chokes
The joke about being drunk, " I'll be sober tomorrow and you'll be ugly the rest of your life ", was first uttered by W. C. Fields. The other alcohol and cigar loving humorist icon.
What a well versed, highly articulate and accentric statement and a writer. Britain is blessed to have him as PM.
I had to look up accentric. I can’t find it it but I like it.
Sadly my complete OED has to left at the castle 😉
Boris wanted to be Churchill but ended up as Coco the Clown
Boris is funny , dead serious, very smart and made commie Corbyn look dull as dishwater. Merry Christmas and a Brexit New Year.
some paedophiles are like johnson; incidentally, when carrie symonds was 7, he was 31!!
@@jamesrichards3183 am sorry to hear of your traumatised childhood. Did you report what happened to you?
Commie Corbyn. I wonder what paper you repeated that from, another one that just replaces socialism with communism just to get the maximum fear factor.
Nothing funny about this Charleton this is wha annoys me a lot people stupidly voted him in for that reason and boy we have our our heads in our hands now it’s been a total car crash total dysfunctional !,
Boris will make UK Great again .
The best one was when he was at a party who said to him "you sir are drunk" Churchill replied "you madam are ugly, in the morning I shall be sober but you will still be ugly" 😂😂👍👍👍👍
and yet we did and you stepped up - thank god!
Brilliant. Thank you Boris our new leader
How in the name of God was Churchill’s partition of Ireland anything to be proud of?
TK watching the ruling classes rewrite history is just heartbreaking isn’t it. :(
This is the second Battle of Britain, and like Churchill before him, Johnson will win this battle and go down in history as a great leader !
Educated Americans revere Winston Churchill, and many of us consider him the greatest man of the 20th century.
Mark Davis uneducated Brits revere winston Churchill
Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
i bet you are proud of the brit killer.
Whose watching this after Boris Johnson resigned from the prime minister's office July 2022😷⏲
Besse ... "Winston, you are drunk." Winston... "Madam, you are ugly and tomorrow I will be sober"
I will always like Prime Minister Boris Johnson. He's a great man, never fear to say what's in
his man.
Churchill was far from perfect, but he was the man desperately needed in a time of great peril to our freedoms.
I hope that Boris can live up to the hype and hopes of the nation who have elected him to protect our rights and take us out of the EU
How do you feel about him now after two years as PM with a huge majority?
I see the spirit, conviction and love of country in Boris as I see in our president Donald Trump....I think the UK has a winner for PM in Boris...
boris's statement about an imperial power like the romans or ottomans being the only intervening force that can hold the middle east together is refreshing to hear.
What churl could dislike this?
RichardIIfan Salty Momentum sorts...
I have to buy this book!
Ivan Bombana It’s a great read!
Amazing.. He is fun but knows the score... Best prime minister ever...
Best pime minister we will ever have.
Boris... You are wonderful as a politician.. You don't need to be typical! You are clever and fun.. a wonderful combination xx
Ruth Hotchin Love Boris The book is brilliant his study on Churchill inspirational Boris is the spirit of Churchill back again in him even has the same build and hummer and wit xxx
Very glad this hombre is my PM
An empty taxi pulled up at number 10 Downing Street and Mr Attlee got out.. one of my favourites of this great man.
I would say Boris is brilliant at this . Politics i would disagree vocation in life this is his domain . Politics is corrupt dirty business and stamping out anything that's in front of it . Historian is a creativeness and discovery peoples life's .
Boris hasn't exactly covered himself in glory lately has he...??? If that's the best leader they have at the moment ...I'd hate to see the worst.....
Has anyone noticed the scowling photographer?
or the more important text or conversation at 7:00
Where may I find a copy of this book in Italian?
The last question is interesting.
Today, more than 6 years later, Boris is PM and saving Hong Kongers, which is impressive.
,,,,,and he did become Prime Minister "someday " ....
Johnson facies himself Churchill but he is actually the Pitts
Churchill would not have wanted to leave the EU.
well he would off , he always saw what would become the EU (European unity) as something good for the continent but not the UK, he knew the UK future lay with the Commonwealth and English speaking countries. Listen to his speeches everything about Churchill was the English speaking world.
Even De Gaulle understood this he knew Britain was not a good fit and said your a Sea faring merchant nation why would you limit yourself in the continent.
@@davidrenton Churchill said very different in his speeches. Chek it out.
Boris is so intelligent so smart.
Go Boris!
Boris Johnson is no Churchill
Has anyone read his book yet?

I’m reading it now and it is good.
Sue W Boris made this book so interesting wonderful read I like Boris now he is PM wish him well
