Theory: Safi also has powers and the death of her friend Maya was involved: Safi knew Maya to the point only reading one poem about her, befriending Moses based on him having a lotus blossom bracelet from Kyoto, and there's an early game Crosstalk post where it's implied she can mysteriously cheat when she plays Go with Moses. Also how did she snoop in Max's wallet? Also in LiS when someone you love dies tragically (like being mysteriously shot two years ago) it has a tendency to give somebody superpowers.
What if... the Arcadia Bay killing Max meets the Chloe killing Max? Remember that she had a talk with herself in the time loop in Chapter 5 - Polarized.

my theory it might be spoilery or not but what i think: later in the game max is going back in time by looking to a early pictures (like in LIS 1) game devs saying that max power evolve she go back doing things different places here and there things for max like: under the safe. and so max going back in to time to kill safi to restore the timelines or something that the max we play killed safi only caming back from the future. 1 more theory when we walk the mountain follow safi. when we hear the shot we think we see safi walking what if thats max with the beany
i find it weird that the gunshot was heard & safi was bleeding out on the bench so she was likely shot there, but you can see her walking after the gunshot and it’s like..time lagged somehow? if it was max walking up to shoot safi, then that timing too wouldn’t add up since it was after the gunshot. another thing that is crazy is that safi answers a phone call in the beginning and that is what’s getting her to leave, right? and in episode two, max is the one answering the phone and you can hear safi from the beginning so that means max is therefore‘s the one that made safi leave. but max answering the phone happened at least 2 days after safi‘s death so it really is like events don’t instantly happen or there‘s a weird time loop or something
Moses getting up and backing away was the PERFECT tension set up for the photo of max reveal. At this point i was like "the person who shot Safi is gonna be like.. Safi or something since people have been seeing their other reality versions" Never in my LIFE did i expect to see a picture of Max.
Though I've heard a theory about doppleganger max in advance, dropping it this soon seems like it could be a red herring, or at least it can't be as simple as it looks. Also didn't stephen king have turtles in his multiverse?

I’m still progressing through Chapters 3-5, so my perspective might evolve, but here’s what’s been on my mind so far: Max being responsible for Safi’s death doesn’t seem to fit with what we know. If she were the killer, her actions seem unnecessarily complex. Why would she pose as Gwen to sabotage Safi’s book, frame Gwen for drug dealing, or try to harm Safi with the cow skull? The elaborate schemes-like pretending to be Reggie to scare him or misleading Robbie about Lucas-feel disconnected from a straightforward motive. Additionally, retrieving the camera for Moses only to be the one who killed Safi would imply Moses was an accomplice, which complicates things further. Given these points, Max’s involvement would require a compelling motive or reveal. The mystery seems larger than Max simply being the killer. If an alternate Max were responsible, the reason would need to be significant. Based on what I’ve seen and a theory I’m exploring (which a friend suggested might be on track), I’m starting to suspect the possible involvement of a shapeshifting doppelganger. I’m excited to see how the story unfolds and how these questions will be addressed!
Such a great plot twist and cliffhanger! I'm eager to see the next chapters. Overall, the game looks like a new masterpiece - graphics, music, performance, plot - everything is great!

I pissed everyone off 😅 and I am super worried about whats going to happen next. I am happy to get early access to the first 2 chapters, but its so hard to wait 2 weeks for more 😅 this is why I never played Lis right as it came out, since they had months of waiting in between episodes.

I hate the direction they took with this game but i detest anyone who harasses voice actors for it (you're not even in it?!) or just people who DO enjoy the game. To anyone that reads this: yes it sucks, i feel it. it hurts. But DONT, for the love of Chloe, harass anyone that feels otherwise. Dont harass voice actors and dont harass devs. If there is debate or someone posts a discussion defending it by addressing the controverse Discuss _there_ where it is invited by doing so (and please observe a modicum of civility there too!). Dont go picking fights with people who are not invite discussion and dont go bother streamers who are just playing a game. You're only making it worse if you do. Go outside, touch grass, go to the gym and put a decknine logo on a boxing bag and punch it. or just go read some fanfic. Its what amberprice fans have had to do since 2013. We can do it too. I am on here because someone on Reddit claims this VA said she was harassed. But I can find no evidence. I don't like her style very much, so I wouldn't be here if there was no Reddit comment. Please do not stereotype and badger fans if they haven't done anything. Even if a tiny minority has, it feels wrong to stereotype people. Especially with these strange "go do this" or " go do that. It seems to shame hyperfixations or mental illness and neurodivergence a lot. It is such a shitty way to devalue nerdy things, special interests or just existing in a non normative way I haven't been able to find her statement on this video, so I don't know what she said.
I don't like Vinh tbh lol why didn't they bring Warren back as a Science professor at the university? It would have been good to see what they would do with a more grown up Warren. I also think Warren suits Max better than Vinh lol Vinh is just creepy and while yes Warren could be weird at times, he was jut a teenager in LiS one so they should've brought him back as a mature man in this game.

The performance capture really elevates the game to the next level. I can see Max has Hannah's smile and the facial expressions are on point!
I honestly liked Loretta here in chapter 2, especially when she was there for Reggie. Am I the only one? 😅
