ERIC JOHNSON : Class Act Texas Guitar Wizard. Fellow Texans will concur. We were watching EJ way, way back before he ever did the Tones record. I’m talking a 24 year old Eric. He was a phenomenon then with an even heavier jazz influence. I have recorded evidence of it. He was always concise and had a beautiful flow combined with his vocal delivery. And all us guitar freaks would sit in the front row at Rockefellers, and watch him play absolutely flawless shows. Not a note or touch out of place. And believe me I was paying close attention. The guy really is a legend and a beautiful reflection of all his influences. There is no doubt that Jimi would have that smile on his face if he could see this set. All the best , Eric!!
Agreed, I was introduced to him back in 1984 or so while I was in college at Southwest Texas State University. Used to see him gig around Austin a lot back then. Always amazing... and a super nice guy!
l watched and Eric and SRV monthly at tangos at midnite do their 'Hendrix Jam' together. Honestly neither of them have anything on Randy Hansen and Eric still doesnt want him on the Hendrix tours b/c he embarrasses them all. l know them all.
I agree that Hansen and frank marino should get a promoter and do a hendrix homage gig!!! They would be serious and pay proper tribute to jimi!!!! These guys are definitely respected musicians but i think that no real proper rehearsals were considered
Who is the man mutilating the vocals on electric ladyland and why does he deserve to be there? I want to think Eric had him forcefully removed from the stage after that . .
Opening song is a total train wreck!!!! Very uninspired performance.... we should rehearse a little before doing this gig!!! It's a slap in the face to the people that paid big bucks to see a bunch of guys doing an open mic gig!!!
He's playing the "Built in overdrive" Strat!

We went and saw him in London. Awesome show as always and proud of my fellow Texan.
Just sublime, beyond words

Amazing performance!!!
Love that bass sound.

Wow. Wow Wow. Thank you so much.
OMG! I want that guitar!
Bold as love is holy shit!
love it!!
Just saw this in forest grove last night, Eric and Dylan Triplett were my favorite of the show
Must had been great Live.
He played original Izabella’s Jimi strat😮
There's always that one guy who just has to talk during the entire performance. 🙄 Shut up and listen to the music!
Back in Jimi's day, the amps would be so loud you wouldn't hear the idiots babbling, the good old days
Very aggravating... right over the Are you experienced solo too...
Dude! I came here to say that.
It's sad that people don't have the attention span of a gnat to listen to something as great as this.
Missed the experience. 😮
Eric Johnson is beyond flawless. Could anybody be more expressive o na musical instrument?
the drummer has 3 hands?

eric could have ran out the back with Jimi's guitar, if he gave up the Pay for his Gig! ha!
Love You, Jimi! R.I.P. together until then....

Listen to Frank Marino
too bad there's a couple chatty Kathy's yappping away throughout this post.
Randy Hansen is better than all these guys playing Jimi.
Bc he dedicated his live for his music and doesnt Play own songs
I second that!!
@@davidhan635 Who cares? he still does Hendrix great. Shut it.
