  • 14 seats from Karnataka went to polls in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections. One of these seats is Mysuru which is witnessing a battle royale. BJP has fielded Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, the scion of the erstwhile Mysuru royal family, who is making his grand political debut. Wadiyar has replaced BJP's Pratap Simha, who has represented the constituency in Parliament since 2014. But BJP's tie up with the JDS will be advantageous for Wadiyar because JDS has a considerable vote base in the constituency.

Yaduveer Wodeyar is the future of Karnataka. He is the only young politician that can handle international diplomacy in sensible English.

Mysore Maharaja is BJP's OBC face of Karnataka. Instead of Eshwarappa who was dismissed from the party for showing decent against dynastic politics in the party.
30+ years ago when BJP had no presence in the state it was Eswarappa who built the party from the grassroots level and laid foundation for Himdutva in Karnataka. Despite hailing from OBC caste he always preferred Hindu identity over OBC identity, such was his commitment and contribution to the success of BJP in Karnataka post 2000.
