3:51 - "The game stars Jamison Jones as Rebel pilot Rookie One. You may know him for his role in the classic PS1 game, Star Wars Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire." Hey, that's not being fair to Mr. Jones. What about his other notable role as Rebel pilot Rookie One in the classic PC CD-ROM game, Star Wars Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire?
All things said this game was epic, and at the time the graphics were to die for, sure the whole thing was on on rails and the acting was cheesy, but the levels were designed so beautifully and it was obvious that a lot of love and care went into this. I was completely ok with the point and shoot aspect and whenever i played it (which was a lot) i was always totally immersed and blown away by the whole experience and it was just one huge Adrenalin ride from beginning to end, i never tired of constantly reliving the adventure of rookie 1, sometimes i wish they would remake this game today WOW !! but that will never happen. Rebel Assault II will always be my favorite SW game
Me and my uncle completed this game in one day when it first came out. As a nine year old who was Star Wars obsessed and had only ever played games on cartridge consoles I thought the graphics were amazing!
You should cover more topical games like this, what I mean is I bet you will get more views if you for example made a video about a bootleg superhero game just after a movie is announced/released for said hero. I really enjoyed this video and I think you should do more videos of older games since I feel they compliment your content on bootleg games which often are made to immitate games of that era.
I loved FMV games. They really weren't any more awkward than other games of the era. Had they been given enough time to evolve, I'm sure they would have prospered. My memory is a bit fuzzy on the subject, but Rebel Assault 2 and Foxhunt (I think it was called) were some of my favorite games back in the day. Street Fighter for Sega Saturn also looked pretty damn impressive. It was the N64 with it's cheesy even for the time 3D animation that really killed FMV.
Thanks for the comment! That's really interesting. I have to admit when I was younger I also enjoyed Rebel Assault II quite a bit and while I'm not sure which Street Fighter you played (perhaps the movie game?) I can vouch at least for Alpha 2 being a pretty great fighter on Saturn. I've never played Foxthunt so maybe I should give that one a try before I judge the entire genre, but I can say that at least for me personally traditional sprite based gaming of the time at least seemed to be less constricting and I find myself able to more easily return to those. Even some of the early polygon games of the time over games like Assault II.
Did not enjoy this game at all on PC. The second one is better than the first, but the space sections have horrible controls and I cannot see what is a wall or not because it is to pixelated. The hit boxes on ground missions is not that great either. I wanted to enjoy this game, but it is one of the worst games I have played. It is probably better with a joystick than a mouse and keyboard.
This kid is waaay too much of a crying baby !!! ''the mechanics are odd'', boy: this is a 33 freaking years ps1 game...what in the hell would you expect? such a weepy!
This has to be the most underrated Star Wars game, in Star Wars gaming history.
It was my favorite
I absolutely agree 💯

Oh of course how could I forget to mention his Oscar worthy performance there.

Chris Pie All I'll take this under advisement, thanks for the comment.

Amazing graphics for 1995 on a PS1 which had like a quarter of the GPU power of the PCs of the time
Is the PC version of this game better?
It's been a long time since I played that version, but I remember it being slightly better?
I can attest to it NOT being better. At least not with a mouse. The flight segments are BROKEN!
@@AllGamingStarred Thanks!
