There needs to be a documentary about JR. His talent, the roller coaster of his career, winning a title, and what he and wife went through with their daughter, man this guy is STRONG. People who downplay this man have no idea...

Yall forget J.R. was a thrown in for the shumpert trade A THROW IN. The knicks pretty much gave up on him because he partied to much, he got to cleveland which has minimal noght life compared to NY so he got to focus on his career, family, and friends. He grew up. To see a man that had gotten given up on succeed...its....its fucking awesome much love to J.R.

    *10 seconds later*

Boom. That's when it hit him. Like a truck, it hit him hard. He was reflecting on how it was almost gone for good. He was vindicated on this night of nights...and NYC was most likely spitting nails at what they "threw in" with Iman Shumpert.

The 2016 Finals were essentially the crescendo to Smith's career and his contributions in the game 7 win were monumental. Seeing all of that pent up emotion get released as he paid tribute to his parents was a wonderfully real moment.
As fans, I am not sure that we are actually entitled to be spectators to tender, sincere moments like this, but I am grateful that JR gave us a glimpse

Cavs fan as long as i can remember not having a great season so checking out old highlights from 2016 finals....years prior didnt care for jr smith at all thought he was more problems then good so when clevelamd got him i wasnt to happy even if we got shumpert who was needed....but seeing them win and the passion jr played with in the last 3 games was amazing it wasnt the shots he made it was his defense and all for one mentality that won me over....this guy will drive you crazy sometimes like in game 1 of the 2018 finals lol but you can live with the bad when you know the good could be really good this guys postgame interview made the world cry and if you couldnt relate to none of these things you need to check your pulse

June 19 2016 one of the best days of my life, as a after my cavs won i wat hes these interviews alot of time sover the years but now that im a father i see this in a whole new light
Not only did JR have a good series but he gave em the spark they needed in the 2nd half especially start of the 4th quarter, and after winning 12 13 years of hiding his emotions came out
My favorite part is he was already ready to cry and then the interviewer mentioned its afther day and talked about his dad and he juat let himself go, as much as wanted to be mad at him for that game 1 2018 finals play i had no illsuions Cleveland would win that series wmit kust woukdnt have been a sweep
Even lebron let it go by bringing him into the lakers for another title, when the nba was ready to give up on him he broke through and earned his place, from scorer, to 6th man, to a problem ,to nba champion
