  • The Petzl Grillon is a great mechanical adjuster that can be adjusted under tension. With just the flip of a lever the lanyard is adjusted with ease. Very lightweight and very responsive. The Grillon lanyard can be used in two different modes; the first being the traditional method of attaching the Grillon to one D ring and the other end to the opposite D ring; the second would be to attach the snap end around a stationary object while attaching the Grillon to your center D ring. This configuration will help distribute your weight to your legs and hips opposed to just your hips. 10’ in length. Features the Grillon descender, a double locking steel snap, and the lanyard is constructed of 1/2” semi static rope.

Thanks for the demo. Thinking about getting it for tree work. Looks simple and practical for the price.

Nice! I use this for tower work as well. Some things you may have missed, squeeze the ridged part of the cam to slack as well, can be used for a single leg (srt) positioning to bridge. Great for mini haul rescue with a rope grab and pulley or pick off rescue. 🤙🏽💪🏽

From a safety standpoint, it is important to note that Petzl is very clear that the free end of the rope should always be controlled when letting slack into the system via the lever or by pressing on the cam
Of course I’ve also actuated the handle to slacken my lanyard without holding the free end, but it’s technically incorrect procedure and potentially dangerous / may increase chance of a fall.
