Basically all of this stuff was known about back in the day, and a few more things that you didn't mention, but I don't think anyone was "wrong" about Silver Samurai. The problem is, he does poorly against every top tier in the game, which may not be as much of a factor in ratio tournaments, but when it was two players who had free choice of the whole roster and were trying to win he really does struggle a lot. You can argue about whether he was underrated when people called him "low tier", but he's never going to rise beyond lower mid without some sort of qualifying conditions like ratios. I tried really hard to make him do work back in the arcades, and while I did occasionally find moderate success, current me realizes that there's no (objective) reason to pick him when you could just pick Cable or Sentinel instead.
Back when I played this game over 2 decades ago, a bunch of guys tried to make him work. He's fun to play but in terms of viability he lacks maneuverability some of the top tier chars possess. 100% agree with you there, no one would actually pick him over your regular tier chars.

People are finding out new things in MvC2 till this day. I also don't remember ever saying JMcrofts was the one to discover the infinite, he very clearly said he didn't in the video. I simply said "people" are discovering new things.
@@orlanzo2621 EXACTLY! Thank you Orlanzo!
Y’know on the topic of MVC2, did you know people are creating MVC2 characters and unique versions of existing characters in MVC3? It’s called the EX Mod and the Pallete Swap mod, people have made MVC2 Psylocke, M. Bison, Moon Knight, MVC2 Sentinel, MVC2 Cyclops, MVC2 Ken, MVCI Thanos, STARS Wesker, Jill, and Chris, and a bunch of really cool characters.
If you really like marvel 2 and or 3,and wondered how some of the characters you wanted from 2 would play in MVC3, I’d highly check those mods out! Getting Ken AND Cyclops in MVC3 is something legendary 😁
When punishing assists with lightning, hold UP while mashing to float the assist and possibly hit them with another lightning
I did not know you could control it like that! Nice.
A Ruby Heart overview would be very cool.
FINNALLY I HAVE A REASON TO PLAY SS
I competed in Melee for about 7 years. I no longer play. I don't play any normal FGCs. But I still love this video because MVC2 is so cool.
Mike haggar???? Damn
Fax
Nice! My main team is Doom, Samurai, Psylocke. The synergy with them is pretty good. Sometimes I switch Psylocke for Tron Bonne too.
What happened to his other super where he has afterimages?
I love the MvC2 videos. I would like to see a Cammy combo vid since she was one of my mains.
50 years later: Why MVC2 players were wrong about Servbot!
Pretty sure Silver Samurai can still block while having hyper armor, which Colossus or Zangeif can't do. I also want to say Glacial Spikes has to be blocked low.
I gotta say that this dude is one of the most chill, positive, friendly-seeming youtubers I've seen in the fighting game niche, right up there with Maximilian Dood. Good job!
Has he played Battle Arena Toshinden?
toxic positivity
@@SuperSuccessfulTroll In what sense?
I've practiced MvC2 for years, including Magneto infinites (with little success tbh), and I was *today* years old when I found out that MvC2 had this anti-infinite system...
SS the most unique player in the game and most slept on
Omega Red overview please! You use him a lot.
Please do a video on the most underrated and underused top tier, Blackheart
Wow. Shoutout to Tips & Tricks Magazine! I know exactly what image you talked about too. That brings me back.
Got me theorycrafting some Silver Samurai teams now. I think if you take Jill heal assist, you could justify using the forms other than ice, and I think ice has some interesting use cases in an anchor situation. The infinite just makes a stronger case for building a good team around him. I like the Juggernaut pick to make up for some of his damage and spacing deficiencies.
just dropping a comment to help with the algorithm. Keep the mvc2 vids coming! Big ups from Uruguay
