Hey was wondering what calibre and bullet weight you use on those big red deer?
A very interesting video. I knew I would see monster red stags, I wasn't disappointed. It was particularly pleasing also, because I have a lifetime experience with fallow, to see a number of good mature bucks available to clients. Too many New Zealand hunters shoot 3 yr old bucks, and wonder why the antlers are disappointing. BJ is obviously a good Manager.
Thanks Howard its been a battle with the Fallow but we are finally getting some good results.

Was little concerned though that for most of the time when you were walking through the bush with your Texan customer he had the rifle pointed at your back! just remember safety first. Always treat a gun like it is loaded and point it in a safe direction.
I have the magazine in my pocket at all time until ready to fire, this is policy with us. I often have to be in front leading the way, that's a guides job so knowing the rifle is clear is paramount...Thanks

Not really, just spot and stalk them..I have tried but there was so many Toms they were hard to call

These are great videos, I am really impressed. But I note you always wait for an animal to stand up. Is that a bit of 'hunting ethics' I never learned ?
Its considered unethical by some to shoot an animal lying down . Its also a bigger target when standing . Very much a personal choice. I shot a stag yesterday laying down but it had been very difficult to get near him and I wanted to kill him so he got it in the neck..

I am a hunter and I really like hunting. Unfortunately, the leader of the dictatorship of Iran has forbidden hunting and only herself and heroes can go hunting and it's sad.
