I like this series. Very clear execution. However, playing the Flams louder than Taps would give more spice to it in my opinion.
I agree with you, some of the way Wilcoxon has written these solos is counterintuitive. I get the impression some of them are more an 'exercise' for the player then to sound good for the listener.
