- Subscriber showed up so I built him a custom deflector for a dual port muffler, that he has been wanting for some time. Built it the way he wanted. In this video, I show how to build and install deflectors. Thanks!
I just bought a section of deflector and have already went thru them lol. About to make another order. Very easy to use and they work great. I’ve been using the threaded rivets here lately and they seem to work good if it’s not a tight fit, if it is then regular rivets are best, all depends on your situation. Many ways to make it happen.
Can I get a link
@@chainsawredeemer85 this is the set I normal use. Cut to fit, then either pop rivet or nut rivet them wherever you need to.
Those deflectors are cheap and work great going to have to put a guy on that press all day long to keep up those orders!
Most of my mufflers I build depending on if the saw is stock or ported I'll drill hole 5/8 on 70cc and bigger smaller size I'll usually duplicate stock size
Nice job, looks factory 👍
Same process for a husqvarna 572xp I would think. After market muffler I gotta find.
Great video for the saw guy with limited skill and resources 👍
Would a pipe be better out of muffler than a deflector?
I’ve seen others talk about “gutting “ the can so there are no more baffles inside, what’s your opinion on that?
Two cycles are finicky about back pressure and tune , with all that said i had a old homelite xl 12 super with a rotted out muffler i found a NOS one at a chainsaw shop , no matter how i tuned it , it slowed it down , i just remove the baffle and left the empty can problem solved .
Good job
Thanks
What's the advantage of dual port over a single port?
👍👍👍
What your eBay store or seller name? You guys are selling those little strips with a couple of deflectors punched in them? Great stuff! I’m finding those pipes very interesting and saw the Dyno Joe video… as I’m building with the 52mm with the popup piston it would be a different pipe… and then the porting of that cylinder… it’s a very very neat area of saw building!!!
Can you build a muffler for a 1996 husqvarna chainsaw 246?
Yes I sure can.
Exhaust hole 60-70% of the size of the exhaust port. If you use screens go 90%.
Is this based on a theory, or build experience, ect?..from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 👋🤠
Dual port worth it for a all purpose use Stihl 026 PRO
I would say so yes. I have one on mine and really like it. 026 is one of my favorite saws.
@@rockymountainchainsaw it rips so I wanna keep it internally stock so sounds like a good idea
Can u please give me the link to those covers you show I'm trying to fine em it's why I clicked on the video
eBay item number: 144001495537
Why not in the front?
You can put it where ever you would like. That is just where my customer wanted it. Personal preference I guess.
eBay link to materials?
