I know! I’ve always loved Luke’s character he has reasons for what he does. He doesn’t want destruction he wants everyone to be happy. In his mind that can’t be achieved with the gods.
it was probably because of the reprise of 'Good Son'. That, along with the parallels, really gets to you. The fact that you can actually hear emotion in their voices, rather than just reading it off a page, adds to that too.
I think a lot about how the betrayal could have been both ways, because Luke probably also felt betrayed. How he knew that Percy was tired of being tossed around and spat on by life in general and he believed so much that he might yet (in his eyes) still be able to save him. How the traitor was also the betrayed. And then I cry.
I feel like this song alone shows how much the musical understands the book. Luke isn't just this whiny douche and Percy a naive dumbass, they're actually really similar in their attitude and experiences yet they mirror one another. This song being an exact reversal of Good Kid, the song displaying all of Percy's feelings and emotions, simply plays tribute to the mirror between the two characters. I'm impressed.
Steven Grossman Sometimes this thing happens where I'm scrolling through comments on my phone and accidentally click on a comment, which forces me to reply. This is one of those times. There's no option to click out and cancel the reply, so I usually write a letter, post it and then delete it.
Steven Grossman same and honestly it’s a beautiful piece as Percy and Luke are supposed to be parallels of each other they both had sad bad lives bc of their dads except Percy chose the righteous path while Luke took the Dark one
Luke is one of those characters where you can't completely categorize as a villain. I mean even in the books there were moments where Percy could understand luke and those who joined him. Luke felt hurt, betrayed and abandoned especially with how his mom was; Kronos took all those feelings used them manipulated them and amplified them. The gods were assholes, and I'm rereading the books and I can see how these kids would do anything. It's actually quite heartbreaking.
Yeah now that I think of it I would probably be manipulated into doing something like Selena or ethan until I realize what's really going on Because I'd be hurt because the gods are so neglectful and they use us too if I were promised that I could be free of them and be allowed to make our own life I'd do it
Heck, in Heroes of Olympus, we sort of see Percy... fall into a ‘Luke’ like personality. Someone bitter and fed up with being screwed over. He understands how Luke was the way he was. Percy hates the gods, because they see him as something disposable. And he doesn’t like it. He GETS why Luke was trying to do what he was trying to do. Percy just handles it slightly better.
Khadija Sohail Shafi those books are actually my life, and I'm so happy to see a musical on them, especially since ive been getting into musicals lately :>
I feel like theres a weird type of foreshadowing when Luke says "I dont care if I hurt anyone" because in the last book (SPOILERS) him not wanting to hurt Annabeth (physically or emotionally) is what makes him sacrifice himself
I don't know if this was intentional but when luke say he doesn't care if he hurts anyone there's a small break in his voice when he says hurt idk if that's a hint that the real luke is still there or not but I love it
I feel like it is so that you can see that a sliver of the old Luke is still there, the Luke that cares about his friends and family. He was manipulated as all hell and didn't realize which is why he sacraficed himself in the last book. I feel like what he was doing absolutely pained him but he was so determined that he couldn't abandon his quest he forged for himself
I love Luke Castellan and I'm not going to apologize for it. I mean, how could you expect me to resist a tortured antagonist with a heartbreaking redemption arc?
Marie G Eh, I still don't like him. I mean they tried SO MANY TIMES to kill him and he never died! (Although most of it was because he swam through the river or Styx)
Honestly Ethan Nakamura and Luke Castellan are my favorite characters from this entire series. It's a struggle, because they are always written as the bad guys.
Sabrina Green I know this sounds bad but I like Ethan Nakamura but I can't stand Luke. I get it, but as a kid I also took his betrayal hella personal, so even his redemption arc bothered me.

This one is by far my favorite from the musical. It's got a really good flow to it and the characterization of everyone is on point. The Good Kid twist is perfect. It has just the right amount of bitterness and it's really fun to sing.
The pain in Luke's voice when he goes, "GOOD!" is so palpable and just... i dunno, this song really offers a ton of depth and understanding to his character and I love it
When Luke first meets Percy, his first words to him are, "tough first day?" And now in this song, their last interaction, his words are "tough last day?" Gods, I love parallels
2:48 That line is so gut-wrenching. Luke is so angry and frustrated at the gods and how he feels mistreated that we is fully willing to sacrifice his freedom for a taste of his version of justice.
Though that sounds great to do all of them it might take 10+ years i mean look at hamilton, it took abt ten years to develope at all and even then it might not happen but lets keep our hopes up!
Hey anybody else notice that this is the 18th track on the album? The Last Day of Summer. August 18th is Percy's birthday Could just be happy coincidence, but I'mma dream that it's on purpose
The moment when Luke sang, I almost cried because he made a terrible decision to have vengeance against the gods. He wanted revenge because of his mother. T_T T_T
Karl Celso Reales ngl the older i get the more I understand Luke’s motives. I’ve read more into mythology over the years and tbh many of the gods were rapists, killers, and dealt out cruel and unusual punishments
I just reread the series myself, and I wondered what side of the war I'd be on, Kronos or the gods. The question I had to ask myself was were the Titans any better?
Can we take a moment to appreciate Luke's part? I know we all are, but you *really* need to appreciate it. It's so freaking good. The epic guitar before he goes into the Good Kid tune. The Good Kid song being reused. All of us can agree that is freaking genius. Showing the similarities of Luke and Percy that way. Because that's a big thing. How similar Percy and Luke are. Luke just wanted to be important to someone. He wanted a chance to be a hero and he never got it. He feels abandoned like most demigods do. You can truly see where he's coming from in all this. Percy is the same way. He just wants to do good. He does so much for the Gods yet he doesn't really get the appreciation he deserves from them. Luke wants revenge. He's bitter and angry at the Gods for ignoring him and their kids. He doesn't care if Kronus is using him because, in the end, he feels he'll still be getting the revenge he wants. He isn't aware of his actions or even cares about them. Percy, on the other hand, is also bitter over being ignored by the Gods and his dad, but he doesn't want revenge. He has his friends and his mom. He wants to do right by them. He wants to be a good kid because he knows it's the right thing to do. The difference between Percy and Luke is that Luke felt alone and ignored while Percy knew he had people who cared about him. Percy did his quest for good. Luke feels like he did his quest for nothing. So I'll do anything (I never meant to do anything) I don't care if I hurt anyone (I never meant to hurt anyone) It doesn't pay to be a good kid (I try, I try to be a good kid) A good kid, a good son (a good kid, a good son) The Gods were never on our side (but no one is ever on my side) So I think it's time to watch them fall (all I ever do is take the fall) And soon you'll see what I did (I swear, I swear that I'm a good kid) Soon they'll be no Gods at all (Guess I'm good for nothing at all) Luke isn't a bad kid. He just wants to be good for something. Good enough for someone. When you feel alone, ignored, and abandoned all your life, can you really blame him?
Daily Dose Of Stupid I don't agree. As much as Luke doesn't seem like a bad kid, he still does horrible things. Everyone seems to forget that at the start of the second book he poisons the Thalia tree to shatter the barrier at the START of summer. When the camp has the most kids. What would have happened had the fleece never come? How many children would he have killed? How many siblings? He was willing to sacrifice Tahlia's tree, which in return hurts Annabeth. He really doesn't care if he hurts anyone, even someone who loves him and considers him family. No one talks much of Luke later on, but I've never forgotten the scenes where she was just grieving over Luke and then she had to kill him herself. A sixteen year old girl had to kill someone closer to her than her own family. And then months later, the next person she fell for disappeared. I personally think that Annabeth has the worst luck in the series.
yes. luke had a horrible life. that doesn't justify his actions, nor does it take away from the fact that he IS a "bad kid". jazmin really summed it up.
Lowkey, if I was a demigod, I'd probably join Luke. I know he's the supposed antagonist, but I honestly feel for him. He has been there since he was 14, and somewhere in between he became the head counselor to not only his siblings, but all of the unclaimed/the children of minor gods. He had one chance to prove himself, and yet someone else had already done it. He felt like he has been used again and again. And he has. We know for a fact that Percy felt/feels the same. Percy has been used again and again for almost 6 years. He's been in the deepest part. But he has survived. Luke could have been one of the greats( in my eyes he's one of the greats) Luke had so much potential, but because of his mom's insanity, and because of the the gods neglecting their children, Luke was manipulated. Kronos manipulated Luke, Selina, Ethan, and all of the other demigods. All Luke wanted was to have a family. He wanted to be wanted. (Sorry for my rant, I could've done an essay on him, but I need to read fanfics)
This song always makes me burst out crying.... This musical is the best thing that ever happened to me. Just the way it represent the fandom on itself is amazing👏
I listen to this song religiously. It seriously shows that Luke isn't just siding with Kronos just, cause. Also, you can hear everyone's emotions in their voices, the original cast did so well!
1:02, “Perry Johansson”. Ok, I said this after every single song, but this is solid proof that writers of this musical didn’t only thoroughly study the first book. I’m pretty sure Mr. D calls Percy Perry Johansson only once in the entire series, and that was either in the Titan’s Curse or The Battle of the Labyrinth. I can’t remember exactly, but this is proof that the writers read the entire series, more than once. This is not the only reference from other books. There are even a couple from Hero’s of Olympus.
I really like the parallels with Good Kid. They show more of Luke's perspective than "traitor." The song also shows a lot of his emotion that's not as portrayed in the book or (pathetic excuse for a) movie. **cries**
The ending with Luke's messed up version of Good Kid was so powerful and made him sound so broken, I literally started sobbing : (. I don't cry very much anymore, so when I did that, my entire family gave me freaked out looks. XD
I remember reading The Lightening Thief in 8th grade and bursting into tears because I was so in love with Luke and he turned out so _evil_ . This song just brings out those emotions again, and now I'm sitting on the bed crying because I love Luke so much, he was much a well written character and spoke to me (at that point I'd never seen a character with Daddy Issues™ that was super vengeful and didn't forgive). Also Luke's fucked up reprise of 'Good Kid' spoke levels to me because THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO PERCY. When Luke was 17, his bitterness and rage to the gods escalated after all the shit he'd been through. During Hero's of Olympus, Percy expresses similar rage about the gods manipulation and neglect towards their kids. Luke was probably once as sweet and kind as Percy until he fell to Kronos (which I suspect happened on his quest for the Golden Apples) and I HAVE LOTS OF EMOTIONS WHEN IT COMES TO LUKE CASTELLAN. BRB I'm going to cry some more.
Okay so is it just me or is anyone else thinking about when Luke says, "I'll do anything/I don't care if I hurt anyone" and it implying his relationship with Annabeth? He cared about her and regretted hurting her at the end of the series and this line reminded me of it.
You know what I love about these songs? They lived up to all of my expectations and it's everything that I hoped it would be. I remember when performances were still happening and while I didn't get to go, I kept up with it as much as possible and it was great to hear all of the amazing reviews on it. The music and the show in general, capture the books and the characters in such a refreshing and authentic way that I appreciate because it's not a 1 dimensional look on everything. This song reflects that the most and I couldn't have asked for a better adaptation for Percy Jackson.
luke’s part in this really makes me remember why i love his character so much,, because omgs he’s just an amazing character :0 his part also makes me wanna cry but ITS AMAZING
Remember children: a memorable and well written antagonist should be a mirror of the protagonist. The dark “what if?” or path they could’ve taken if things had gone differently or they’d made different choices.
What do you do when you’ve come to the last day of summer?
Packing for Hogwarts obviously
Celaena Sardothien 👏👏👏
MAN IT’S SEPTEMBER SO I’M SKIPPIN’ THIS TOWN
*Cue the start of AVPM*
Celaena Sardothien or in my case because I could never be excepted (I wish I could be) I would crawl under my bed and cry because my school is prison

Nerdette M R.I.P. Luke

I would do terrible things for a longer version of Luke's Good Kid 'Reprise'. That part gets me every single time.

YES!!! I LO--
I really enjoy reprises
I AGREE
THE SCENE WHERE LUKE BETRAYS PERCY ALWAYS GETS ME, BUT FOR SOME REASON, IN THE FORM OF A SONG, IT GOT ME EVEN MORE AND NOW I'M CRYING
The moment when i heared Percy say Luke I was like oh no
it was probably because of the reprise of 'Good Son'. That, along with the parallels, really gets to you. The fact that you can actually hear emotion in their voices, rather than just reading it off a page, adds to that too.
S A M E
There's an anamatic of this song that has the whole scorpion thing from the book
I think a lot about how the betrayal could have been both ways, because Luke probably also felt betrayed. Petition to make a good kid reprise ft Luke

The second Luke shows up, the music subtly switches to a minor key.
DOES IT? I didn't notice!
Edit: IT DOES!!!!!! NOPE!!!!!!
“subtle” lol I wouldn’t call it a subtle change
"subtly"

"You're the Lighting Thief" THAT IS THE BEST TITLE DROP EVER DELIVERED TBH

Nico Di Angelo HI!
Luke is one of those characters where you can't completely categorize as a villain. I mean even in the books there were moments where Percy could understand luke and those who joined him. The gods were assholes, and I'm rereading the books and I can see how these kids would do anything. It's actually quite heartbreaking.
Tessa Red he was the antagonist, not the villan
He's one of those characters like J.D from Heathers and Lotor from Voltron, just damaged, not evil.
Or Gleb (Anastasia) and Javert (Les Mis) and just believe they are doing the right thing
Yeah now that I think of it I would probably be manipulated into doing something like Selena or ethan until I realize what's really going on
Because I'd be hurt because the gods are so neglectful and they use us too if I were promised that I could be free of them and be allowed to make our own life I'd do it

why don't I just.....cry?
It’s sad because I’m in Hermes Cabin 😂
Has I was reading it he said it
Same
This part makes me feel so much :'(
I started crying first
When he started singing the messed up version of 'good kid' I almost started crying 😭
I was live messaging my reaction to my friends in the fandom and when he reprised Good Kid I just started writing "nooooooooooooooooooo" in the chat
Korryn P. I actually did start crying. For hours.
I'm not the only one 😭😭😭
Was saying noooooooooo the moment Luke started singing
Same, but I actually did cry. And still do.
I would pay so many gold drachmas to have a longer Good Kid reprise. Grover can buy as many dam snacks as he wants.
Queen Nala yesssssss
lol
YESSS!!!
Like. . . Some dam french fries?
Just imagine Percy in Tartarus, saying to himself, "It doesn't pay to be a good kid."

Khadija Sohail Shafi those books are actually my life, and I'm so happy to see a musical on them, especially since ive been getting into musicals lately :>
When Annabeth said Seaweed Brain... My heart literally just melted.... BOOK QUOTES!! PERCABETH FOR OTP!!!
yep, there are even quotes from books farther in the series ^^
Did anyone else notice how Luke says "tough first day" and "tough last day" ?
Nerdstablook 13 oh my gosh-
Uh yeah
Oh my, I didn’t notice
Heck yeah
me
I feel like theres a weird type of foreshadowing when Luke says "I dont care if I hurt anyone" because in the last book (SPOILERS) him not wanting to hurt Annabeth (physically or emotionally) is what makes him sacrifice himself
Mel Lussier I know right? My thoughts exactly!
Mel Lussier Well, Annabeth _is_ nobody hehe
LucKitty37 omg no
If they make musicals all the way to the last one, I hope he sings Good Kid while he sacrifices himself.
You have a point but the last book is set forward in time, people change in the course of about 5 years
That "Good Kid" twist has me fucked up. And now I want a full length version of it.
IM SCREAMING AT THE GOOD KID REPRISE
YASSS!!
I don't know if this was intentional but when luke say he doesn't care if he hurts anyone there's a small break in his voice when he says hurt idk if that's a hint that the real luke is still there or not but I love it
Probably not intentional but good thing
I feel like it is so that you can see that a sliver of the old Luke is still there, the Luke that cares about his friends and family. He was manipulated as all hell and didn't realize which is why he sacraficed himself in the last book. THEY HANDLED LUKES CHARACTER TOO PERFECTLY
I love Luke Castellan and I'm not going to apologize for it. I mean, how could you expect me to resist a tortured antagonist with a heartbreaking redemption arc?

and way better than Snape
Oh my gods why did they use good kid for Luke. I'm not crying you're crying. That was beautiful and heartbreaking all at once.
I know.
It’s a way of showing the parallels between Percy and Luke.
I didn't realize how much I've missed the series until I've listened to the musical. Luke's part was so heart-breaking. I actually started crying.
Same😢

me too☹️
Yaassss I love we all raised from the dead. I mean shit Iv been here 10 years and it's been a while since iv seen the fandom so hyped.
damn i need a more musicals on the entire series cuz this was waaaayyyyy better than the movies
Kahel angeles you really need to read the books. Because just the ones following Percys group there are like nearly 13 now lol
Jazmin Harris yeah i read all of the PJO and HOO series 😂 trying to see if i can find book 2 of Trials of Apollo
Luke really is such a good villain. He’s someone you legitimately empathize with and it’s really not that hard to see Percy going down the same path
Lol I like how in the play they had Luke stab Percy in the back cause they didn't have a scorpion on stage
Well they are off Broadway. They dont have a lot of money to make the show.
Literally get stabbed in the back 👀
You: this
My brain: Luke in a cheap party city scorpion costume
kwibbles
Honestly, I like it better this way. The ‘stabbed in the back’ thing taken literally and that will leave a huge scar, just out of reach.
they still do that lol. I saw it in January.
Luke's dramatic solo starts at 3:08
Thank you
Bless
Thank you 💕
You have done a great service to this planet
I love how this song firmly puts Percy and Luke on opposite sides while showing them as fighting the same demons and coming to different conclusions. They both want the same things but Luke believes he has to punish the world to take them and Percy believes he has to help the world to save them. It's so well done, how it Luke does it by throwing Percy's own words back into his face. Ugh it's amazing.
This was a GREAT song. When Luke betrayed them this song made it interesting.
aaaaaaaaaah that good kid twist yikes
Top 10 anime betrayals
I keep replaying Luke's part....please tell me that they're doing a Sea of Monsters play too. I would do anything to see that.
Skylar Potter me too tho
I would sell my soul for that, but also how often do people make a sequel to a musical?
Marauders Geek not often, but Team Starkid did it pretty well (A Very Potter Musical, A Very Potter Sequel, and A Very Potter Senior Year), so I wouldn’t say it’s impossible. Granted, all of Starkid’s stuff is on UA-cam, so there’s that
Falsettos, the old one had a sequel. The new one is a combination of the two musicals.
I would kill someone to have that
I like how the melody becomes creepy when Luke shows up, indicating his betrayal
God, this is the exact opposite of Good Kid. Luke VS Percy, DAMN ROB ROCKIKI
Finally someone catches it!!!

Chiron always says our parents made camp
As this safe magic space
(Spoken)
The truth: it's so they don't have to see us
(Sung)
They won't bother to show their face
It's time to make the world our own
Time someone put them in their place
(Spoken)
Ares thought we were starting a war between the gods, but it was bigger than that. It's about wiping them out - and taking our turn.
[PERCY]
(Spoken)
You're the lightning thief.
[LUKE]
(Spoken)
The Oracle warned you. "Betrayed by a friend."
[PERCY]
(Spoken)
You set me up. You were trying to free Kronos. Why?
[LUKE]
(Spoken)
He promised me the power to defeat our parents.
[PERCY]
(Spoken)
He's using you! To get back at the gods!
[LUKE]
(Spoken)
Good!
(Sung)
I've been here since I was a kid
I did everything they ever asked, yeah I did
And for what?
You know this world will never be ours
As long as our parents rule over the stars
([ENSEMBLE]
What do you do on the last day of summer?)
So I'll do anything
I don't care if I hurt anyone
It doesn't pay to be a good kid,
A good kid, a good son
The gods were never on our side
So I think it's time we watch them fall
And soon you'll see what I did
Soon they'll be no gods at all!
Thanks for the lyrics
Ella L. THANK U
nice
This one is by far my favorite from the musical. It's got a really good flow to it and the characterization of everyone is on point. The Good Kid twist is perfect. It has just the right amount of bitterness and it's really fun to sing.
Luke's part gets me EVERY time,,,holy shit
The pain in Luke's voice when he goes, "GOOD!" is so palpable and just... i dunno, this song really offers a ton of depth and understanding to his character and I love it
When Luke first meets Percy, his first words to him are, "tough first day?" And now in this song, their last interaction, his words are "tough last day?"
Gods, I love parallels
2:48 That line is so gut-wrenching. Luke is so angry and frustrated at the gods and how he feels mistreated that we is fully willing to sacrifice his freedom for a taste of his version of justice.
THE SMALL GOOD KID REPRISE IS WHY IM LIVING
I actually dropped EVERYTHING to listen to this. And oh my gods I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
So can we make Musical series a thing???? Please? Because I can see some beautiful songs for various scenes in later books 😍
Oh my God yes. Nico singing would be the best thing ever. Especially during some scenes in the Battle of Labyrinth.
It could be like the Very Potter series, except with every book as its own with the plot followed according to book!!!
I just really, really, REALLY want a Leo song
I NEED A HAZEL SONG. Hazel is our actual queen.
Though that sounds great to do all of them it might take 10+ years i mean look at hamilton, it took abt ten years to develope at all and even then it might not happen but lets keep our hopes up!
THE GOOD KID REVERSAL THOUGH
Ok but like the melody from "Chiron always says" to "rule over the stars" is my new aesthetic
luke's voice is my aesthetic
Hey anybody else notice that this is the 18th track on the album? The Last Day of Summer. August 18th is Percy's birthday
Could just be happy coincidence, but I'mma dream that it's on purpose
Lynx Hart Huh
WOAH
OMG TY
This song brings me to tears every time.
The moment when Luke sang, I almost cried because he made a terrible decision to have vengeance against the gods. He wanted revenge because of his mother. T_T T_T
Did Luke ever know that May made that choice on her own (to try being the Oracle)?
Karl Celso Reales ngl the older i get the more I understand Luke’s motives. I’ve read more into mythology over the years and tbh many of the gods were rapists, killers, and dealt out cruel and unusual punishments
I just reread the series myself, and I wondered what side of the war I'd be on, Kronos or the gods. The question I had to ask myself was were the Titans any better?
And Thalia
i like to call this song "betrayal_mp3"
So I'll do anything (I never meant to do anything)
I don't care if I hurt anyone (I never meant to hurt anyone)
It doesn't pay to be a good kid (I try, I try to be a good kid)
A good kid, a good son (a good kid, a good son)
The Gods were never on our side (but no one is ever on my side)
So I think it's time to watch them fall (all I ever do is take the fall)
And soon you'll see what I did (I swear, I swear that I'm a good kid)
Soon they'll be no Gods at all (Guess I'm good for nothing at all)
Luke isn't a bad kid.
LUKE'S VOICE and the good kid reprise HAS ME N U T T I N G HLEP

tHIS SONG ALWAYS MAKES ME CRY WHEN LUKE STARTS SINGING "GOOD SON" lIKE nO
GOD i know everyones said it but jfc when luke starts singing that good kid reprise i DIE i've listened to just that part like ten times by now
Lowkey, if I was a demigod, I'd probably join Luke.
I’ve been listening to this non-stop after episode 8 I’m not even going to lie
Every so often I come back to this song. The reprise will NEVER leave my head
There are even a couple from Hero’s of Olympus.
i've never clicked a video so fast before
I always get chills when it transitions into Luke's reprise of good kid
Luke in this is hurting me I always had a soft spot for him even tho he was NOT A GREAT PERSON he idkkkk I PITY him
I DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“how was your summer?”
“wORLD DOMINATION, PERCY”
Luke’s Good Kid reprise and his whole part in this song just- wow, jeez, hooolyyyy craaaaaaap, it kills me EVERY DANG TIMEEEE
I really like the parallels with Good Kid. They show more of Luke's perspective than "traitor."
The song also shows a lot of his emotion that's not as portrayed in the book or (pathetic excuse for a) movie.
**cries**
Stop I love the voice crack at 0:31 it’s so emotional ✋😭
i am in tears and speechless and this is all i ever wanted
This is so emotional...
So good.
Thank you so much for this, Lightning Thief Cast!!
Sometimes I feel like Luke's good kid reprise is him trying to tell himself he's doing the right thing
that reprise showing how percy and luke mirror each other was!!!!!! woah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG NEXT WEEK EPISODE 8 COMES OUT IN THE SHOW AND SO THIS HAS BEEN STUCK IN MY HEAD BECAUSE IM SO EXCITED TO SEE LUKES BETRAYAL IN THE SHOW
0:31
his little "gAhHhH!" kills me every time
IM EARLY, I SHOULD MAKE A JOKE
Nah.
Grandma Peggy AND GRANDMA PEGGY
THE MOVIES good joke right
Jonas Tomsson Yes. Best joke ever!
Apollo he’s hilarious
2:06 Percy finds Luke
listening to this on my last day of summer break
The little noise Percy makes at 0:30 gives me life!
I decided to listen to listen to this song on the last day of summer vacation every year. And here I am.
The switch to a minor key gives me chills every time. Lukes part is simply amazing
This song really hits different while listening to this song on the last day of summer
Luke's voice when he says "Good!" just rips my heart out and runs over it with a monster truck. I just- this song is honestly perfect for him.
listening to this on the last day of summer
THE WAY AT 2:52 WHEN THE MELODY TRANSITIONS FROM LAST DAY OF SUMMER TO GOOD KID IS LITERALLY ONE OF THE BEST MOMENTS IN THE SHOW
Percy: "I swear I never stole anything / I never meant to hurt anyone"
Luke: "So I'll do anything / I don't care if I hurt anyone"
Luke is literally one of the best singers of all time
Can we just talk about how perfect that "Gah!" is? Every time I listen I just feel the frustration. I love it.
luke’s part in this really makes me remember why i love his character so much,, because omgs he’s just an amazing character :0
his part also makes me wanna cry but ITS AMAZING
Wow, Luke has a beautiful voice.
"You avoiding me?!?"
"Not at all..."
Luke's been watching him for the whole show and will continue to watch him for the whole series.
2:34 onwards is my favorite part
Remember children: a memorable and well written antagonist should be a mirror of the protagonist. The dark “what if?” or path they could’ve taken if things had gone differently or they’d made different choices.
