Robert Downey Jr. & Wife Susan Get Real About Marriage, Plus: He Talks Future of ‘Iron Man’

- “Extra’s” Renee Bargh sat down with Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan as they promoted their film “Dolittle.”
They also opened up about working together before finding love on a movie set. Robert and Susan have been married since 2005.
Downey Jr. also addressed the possibility of suiting up for “Iron Man” again. Watch!

@Tory Shaye Obviously she was his driving force next to his desire to want to be better. You must not know anything about people struggling with staying sober and them wanting the drug free person to be in their lives. I went through it with my husband just as she went through it with him. That choice between you and the drugs acts as the catalyst they need to make the choice to stay clean. It's not the ego of women it's the ego of anyone that's ever had a drug addicted partner. And yes they earn the right to lay claim to being the cause of this person staying clean. If they ever divorce and he goes back to drugs people like you will blame her for being the cause of it. So yeah she's more than earned the right had he not wanted her more than the drugs we wouldn't have had the literal best actor on the planet to play Tony Stark.

RDJ is the most wholesome in all of Hollywood. With what he's been through, I'm amazed Hollywood hasn't been successful into sucking him into the world we're seeing it truly is. Shows his strength. Dudes defenetly wearing some kind of iron exoskeleton to protect himself.

You go through your insane younger years of life and if you have somone who stands by you and your lucky enough to realize, appreciate and respect that person for sticking around....they seem to be 2 parts to a whole. Ms. Downey embraces her partner's quirkiness or unusualness, and also rather than denying it to fit in and seem like normal couples she ( I sense) counts it as a blessing and something she respects in him ...that makes what they have beautiful...they have come to accept each other, quirkiness and all, and gradually worked towards the betterment of one another...come to think about it I definitely wouldn't mind having a partnership like theirs, it exudes peace, fun, growth, and respect.
