Performed in the Marienmünster of the Augustinean Monastery "Dießen am Ammersee" in Bavaria. (Note: the "ß" character is not a "B" - as most Americans pronounce it... ;-) It's pronounced like a sharp "S" as in "sister". "ie" is pronounced like the English "ee".) Richter went there every year with his Choir and Orchestra for two weeks of intense rehearsal followed usually by two concerts (Saturday and Sunday) at the end of the two weeks. The history and a few pictures of the Marienmünster can be found here: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marienm%C3%BCnster_Die%C3%9Fen
@pvssymaster A piccolo trumpet cannot be tuned in D. "pussymaster", indeed... @Cecilia Gaerlan Raymond Andre never played the piccolo trumpet... OMG @ChBouann Of course Thibaud. Playing the old 360B Selmer picc, tuned in Bb. Very perilous, but amazing sound...
It`s known that Bach`s mass in B minor is the greatest mass ever written
Bach's mastership is beyond comprehension. How can single person create all this.
6:09 Not many people could look at the score and confidently know they executed the part perfectly.
Absolument magnifique
This is awesome! And the quality of the video is so good! Thank you!!
9:31 absolute climax of part I.
Wow, this is really well done.
Bach, el mas grande.
He isn't Maurice Andre, but Pierre Thibaud
maravilloso! :0

He should be Adolf Scherbaum. Maurice Andre' is the soloist in the Xmas oratorio and Pierre Thibaud in the Brandeburg concerto n2. All of them superb
It might very well be Raymond Andre, Maurice's brother on the trumpet (judging from the picture).
