Personally I'd rather have my BCM or a Geissele but I'm just not really into the piston stuff. HOWEVER, I do like the MR762. I've always thought the HK417 was very cool. The only large frame gasser I like more than the 417 is the SR25 especially the newer ones with the Mlok rail. They just look so sexy to me. Do you like the NF NX8? Lots of people complain about various things with that optic but I also heard there was a new version or something? Idk, I've never looked through an NX8 but I have looked through the ATACR 1-8 and it was a phenomenal LPVO. FOV was a little tight but the reticle was pretty much perfect.
The NX8 is a very good optic, people just misunderstand it’s purpose and tend to laser focus on optical performance. It’s the lightest 1-8 LPVO by a pretty decent margin, has very good glass, above average reticle & top of the line durability. It’s pitfall comes from it being a 30mm 1-8 with weight requirements which puts a lot of ask on your magnification erector, which results in a slight light transmission issue at top end, and a more critical eye box & eye relief. Both of these “issues” are overstated because the light transmission is not terrible, just average, and the eye box & eye relief wasn’t that bad for me because Im used to 4x ACOG’s, but if you’re coming off an ATACR or razor gen III it’s probably more jarring for you.
I know you're an HK guy but I'll just say the whole Internet is looking for a comparison of this vs a Spear LT. I am trying to decide which to buy for my first and only rifle
I think the "internet" can do all the compare analysis it wants but at the end of the day, the buyer will make a choice based on his/her finances, preference for aesthetics, brand loyalty, or a total idiots recommendation. I think if you know the quality that HK IS and combine it with the battle proven HK416 platform (MR556 commercial) and a lifetime accuracy gtee....oh and unlike other major manufacturers, HK is the only one to never have a recall......well, if you had to only have one....the choice is clear, MR556a4 for the win. Do yourself a favor and skip the spear and go for a SIG 550 if you want a SIG! Cheers
@HKShootingwithDerekG one person on reddit said the mr556 platform was not made for piston system from the ground up, instead the platform started as DI gun then they put a piston in it. They then said the MCX platform was designed from ground up to be a piston platform. Any truth to that?
@ I’d encourage you to avoid Reddit as a source of serious education on your gun interest…..kinda goes without saying but I said it! If you are interested in the facts and the 416 history, then here is a video that takes you to the source. ua-cam.com/video/SOvPG2jfsRE/v-deo.htmlsi=gf-X2VF28XuJ4h3g
Why are you upset about that? It's really not that much more than any other high end AR15. A little, but not substantially. If this guy wants to spend money on his gun who are you to be upset about that? It's just cringe.
I like the 90-degree safety 👍
@@ReaperLust me too….especially since my trigger needs it 😉
Nice setup, I’m digging these updates 👍
I hope to 1 day have an HK that nice.

Love me some HK!!! Great video!!!! I definitely am wanting to get the QD for my stock as well!!!!!
Hard to believe they don’t get your input before producing the final version of the rifle. Pistol looks good
Let's see some groups!! I'm expecting a very accurate rifle for that much money.
I’m sure they will sell dozens of them.
Willing to sell the HK pistol grip or know where I can find one? Great content!!
Nice rifle there, mate. Do you have multiple rifles or is this "one and done". If I was getting a "one amd done" I would spend the cash like you did.

Why you not into piston? Piston seems like the direction everything is moving towards
