I have listened to this at least 10 times and watched the movie an equal amount. It is lovely. I find it so full of the perfect love story which is not really something that normally I choose, but it is full of so many endearing nuances and the odd surprise. I do hope that you enjoy it as much as I do.
I usually hate unabridged novels. This was beautifully narrated by Alex Kingston and was perfect for an autumn drive. I think it might also be good for a sleepless night.
Was wondering why chapter 1 (which normally takes at least 8 or 9 mins to read aloud) was read in under 2 mins, then I realised it's an abridged version lol. I like how this version simply leaves things out, rather than change the sentences though. Defo read/ listen to the full version if you want the full impact, but this isn't bad. Thanks for the upload.
Dammit, I want to hear the full danged version, for crying out loud! This will bloody well spoil it, I don’t see how it can’t. Cheers, and thanks for saying something, Christ forbid they put that in the title or the show-notes pull down window, ffs. Stay gold, Pony Boy!
@@StalinLovsMsmZioglowfagz Agreed, abridged stories are simply unacceptable. There are full and unabridged versions, and Tony Walker is doing Rebecca for us, too.😅
Come on, the sarcasm wasn't necessary and makes you appear unkind...not everybody is familiar with how long the book is, so the comment was perfectly appropriate.
Wish she’d overacted the sad or worried scenes of the principal character a little less. Makes for « corny » material if not. When the writing speaks for itself, voice actors can do less to achieve more. The rest is quite good.
It seems like it's abridged meaning it misses out some things but it's the same story line and no sentences have been changed. You can find the full version which is about 4hr 30 on UA-cam
FAY-vell? The character's name was Fah-VELL. This version is a poor substitute for the real thing and highly amateurish. The screenplay from Hitchcock's film was even better than the book- the dialogue is sharper, the scenes better drawn and organized and the ending much more dramatic than the washed out, nothing ending of the book.
Loved Ms. Kingston's reading, beautifully done
"I love you more now that I know you killed your first wife," said the woman who didn't fire the housekeeper who tried to talk her into suicide.

Thank you for mentioning!!

Completely ruined by the ads. UA-cam really don't care how these endless ads impact on the viewer or listener but they will end up ruining their brand
Hauntingly beautiful. Alex Kingston is amazing 🤩
one of my favorite books thank you
I love Alex!! She's wonderful.
Rebecca is one favorites. 💜💜
One of the most popular novel in East Asia.
read Rebecca 60 years ago in german and enjoyed it all over again today in english
Hello from France
hello from the guy 3 places at your right
Heavily abridged....
Maybe for first reading in literature in school.
It was for bbc radio. That’s why it recaps. I was an episodic thing.
i love this book i have listen to it like five times lol
Condensed version?
I need time stamps
Content missing from actual novel
It's abridged for Radio 2
Krysta Monique What? You mean a novel of over 350 pages can't be read aloud in under 2 hours? Wow ! You're sharp as a tack!!!
Come on, the sarcasm wasn't necessary and makes you appear unkind...not everybody is familiar with how long the book is, so the comment was perfectly appropriate.

I don't think she overacted.

Fine, clear reading!
IS RHIS WHOLE BOOK?
Rhis is not the whole book.
This reader is so appropriately dramatic for this story. The woman who played Mrs. Danvers not so much...

Mispronouncing a key word is unforgivable when your only job is to read: Not “Mander-lay”!
Exactly - couldn't help wincing every time I heard ManderLAY.
I've always heard it pronounced ManderLAY. How do you think it's pronounced?
Really...??? Could you possibly be a less appreciative snot nosed brat....???

Not the right reader for this novel
