I prefer the richness and clarity of Dan’s voice. He paid homage to the original. He’s a fan of Steve Perry. He doesn’t need the big production. Him standing alone against a black backdrop singing is perfect for me. It showcases his amazing vocals without distractions. His facial expressions are mesmerizing to watch. When he sings, he feels the music.

My vote goes to Dan Vasc he was respecting Journey and Steve Perry

Okay, I am writing this before you make your picks. The first time I listened only. I wanted to just hear the artists and not see what they were doing. It came down to Dimas and Dan. I went through a second time and watched the video. Corvyx was too AI for me. Sorry Noah, but this song really needs the original instrumentation. I have to give it to Dan. Dimas doesn't enunciate as well and I get more emotion in Dan's voice. This probably was a track that Dan purchased. He always give the people playing on his videos credit. Nothing wrong with a straight, true to the original cover. You would have gotten the smile from Dan if you listened to Dan's outro. He loves to sing Steve Perry. Now I will go watch the end of the reaction.🙃

Dan gets my vote. True to the artist and such a talented singer.❤

  • @pamelariker5525

Hard choice, but I think Dan won this because he annunciates so much better than most other singers. And, lets face it, he is so easy on the eyes.

  • @70yroldGrandmaof2here

    Dan won by FAR ❣️⚘️

  • @emanuelamarchetti9862

    Dan always does better

Dan, it’s always Dan because his voice is like no other ❤Even though he was much younger when he recorded this cover , and he didn’t do “his Dan thing” to it that we have become so used to and love, he did a PERFECT COVER! His voice has such range and richness there really is no comparison.😉

Dan Vasc 💯💯 A truer, more genuine performance, you won't get. This video is from about 6years ago when Dan wasn't deviating much from the original but as you know, progression has taken it's course and he's now more phenominal and creative than ever. He's a musical genius. Shoot me down, I'm a die-hard rocker and have to admit to preferring him to the great Steve Perry. I don't understand how you could expect a "smile" in a rather sad song🤔 Anyway, a disappointing outcome☹

Dan first with Corvyx running an extremely close second. I love both versions of this. It wasn't my favorite Journey song but then I pretty much loved anything that Steve Perry opened his mouth to sing. Huge Journey fan, at least while Mr Perry was on board.

Corvyx has interesting artistic lighting, etc, but his voice is overpowered by the music. Noah takes me back to the 60s when people would sit around and take turns singing the songs that were popular at the time. Dimas has a beautiful voice, but he has a little too much vibrato at times for me. At this point I was thinking that Dimas might beat Dan until Dan started singing and I heard the richness and depth of his voice.

All of them were great! In Dan's defense, he made this cover nearly 5 years ago. He is much more "seasoned" now.

  • @KarenWarren-bu2bv

    Dan Vasc. Surorise, surprise, surprise.

  • @kristinaschecke233

Dan Vasc natürlich. ❤ . Mehr möchte ich jetzt auch dazu nicht sagen.

i just love you guys. will you adopt me? don't like these competition type videos, but i stuck with you. i would rate them 4,3,2,1. corvyx while flashy couldnn't understand him. noah really nice voice but not much passion. dimash was the first song of his that i totally liked. he adapted to the song instead of adapting the song to him as he usually does.. but, the heart wants what the heart wants. and that is more dan. how he can stand in a black room and sound like he has been totally engulfed in his song with no feedback always amazes me. and his vocal gymnastics are oh so pleasing. this 5 year old cover still stands up. ty

Corvyx was definitely my favorite! He has such a beautiful voice and he always sings with so much emotion.💜 And I love the visuals, his aesthetic is fantastic.

When Dan Covers one of his Idols, on a Song he Doesn't think needs a Twist, if you close your eyes, you're not quite sure, Who's Singing.. Check out his Covers of Jon Bon Jovi, you'll see what I mean! Dan hands Down!

  • @djnozland

I just felt Corvyx’s cover to be too techno and flashy, not my cuppa. Guthrie’s I appreciated, it reminded me a bit of James Bay’s early acoustics, which I love. I wondered if Guthrie was British too from some inflections he had, but no, Google said he is from South Carolina, LOL. Interesting. Dimash’s cover was very well done, he is a talented vocalist and can certainly growl a bit but it seemed almost puppyish to me. Steve Perry is one of Dan’s artistic influences mentioned in his bio. This particular cover of Dan’s is from his earlier works and I think maybe it would be distinctly different now if he did it, IDK. And just to clarify for Dan Vasc fans, there is never an awkward moment watching him do nothing. Lol! I happen to BE a fan of Steve Perry and Journey cuz’ I’m that old. Dan may have lacked “sprinkles” in this cover😂 but I think he did it intentionally and I love it. It’s Dan for me ❤. This was great. I love these comparison reactions you do. They’re fair, unbiased and fun! 👍🏻

  • @Te_Ngawai

Dan for the win .. ❤ he has said that he admires Steve Perry and perhaps singing it like the original was a showing of respect towards Steve. 😊
