I’ve always thought of using maybe like a clay flowerpot w holes in the bottom to direct the flow of thermite but not sure how you’d light it from the bottom
@@marktgsxr it should, because magnesium fire alone can burn as hot as 3000 C, also it's very reactive; you should be able to set the mixture on fire with matches, it will make the mixture harder to extinguish with water.

You can light it from the top.
Or when you tape the bottom hole just tape the magnesium strip into the hole

Next time try it with a mixture of magnesium and aluminium powder and iron(III)oxide.
